Distinguished Pools

Dan and his staff did an amazing job for us. It was a BIG job, pool and patio. I’m very happy with the result. Dan is very professional, his contract spells out what is included on the bid — I told him he spoiled us for anyone else doing construction for us!

I contacted them via email in hopes of getting a third bid for a new in-​ground pool & received a call from Heather about 20 minutes later. I told her that we just wanted a simple rectangular pool (approx. 36’x14’) with a baja shelf & that was it (no fancy bells & whistles, no spa, no exotic materials).
She said that their «starting range for any pool is in the high $ 60,000’s» (that’s $ 10,000 higher than my starting range). She tried to rationalize the high cost by stating that they custom build each pool… umm…so do the two other pool contractor’s I had already gotten bids from.
Thanks, but no thanks.

We live in Banker’s Hill and the neighborhood is well established. Access to our back yard is limited to a very narrow drive way. Our neighbors are fussy. The dirt here is like concrete. We are tough customers because we have a clear idea of what we want…
None of this mattered to Dan Ramos. He installed for us a beautiful traditional pool. It is beautiful beyond our expectations. Micro Pebble tech walls give the darkest blue I have ever seen in a pool. Warm salt water is easy on the skin. The process was seamless. He kept us informed along the way. He came in on budget inspire of some last minute changes.
We interviewed two contractors and we are so very glad we decided on Distinguished pools. Thank you so much. We couldn’t be happier.

It is our second summer in the sensational pool that Dan’s company built. From the first meeting, we were sure that Distinguished Pools was the right fit for us, and Dan worked quickly to provide us an on-​spot design based on our vision. His team not only built the 50′ foot vanishing edge pool, but also created two large pool decks in multiple colors and sizes of travertine and some gorgeous scalloped, winding stairs to the lower level.
Just last week, we had an electrical short after a contractor built a putting green, and Dan’s guy was here the next day — even when it wasn’t his team involved in the short. We knew we could rely on Dan for an amazing pool design and build, but we couldn’t have hoped for the long-​term maintenance, support and overall degree of responsibility that Dan has taken on our job for almost 3 YEARS since we broke ground.

Sadly, I found Dan’s customer service to be less than good. Contacted him and after a brief conversation about the project we scheduled a consulting appointment/​site review at his convenience (2 weeks out). I called asking him to confirm the day before our scheduled meeting, no call back from him or the office. We cleared our schedule to accommodate the meeting. Late the morning of the appointment, a lady from his office called to inform me Dan was too busy and couldn’t meet, and she couldn’t reschedule because she didn’t have his schedule. I asked that Dan still contact me to reschedule. He still hasn’t called us back to reschedule.

We just had our old in ground vinyl pool taken out and replaced with with a new shotcrete and stonecape pool along with the hard scape. Dan Ramos and his crew is extremely professional, nice, quality oriented and understands the investment you make in a pool. The attention to detail and design were exactly what we we looking for. He stands behind his work and takes extra steps to make sure the investment lasts, just ask the inspector when they sign off on each part of the project.
