The California burrito never disappoints! Service has always been great as well

Rude, over priced, and discussing food. Was extremely greasy, and my tacos were burnt.

These are some of my favorites: Shredded– beef tacos, rolled tacos, al pastor tacos and bean burritos. The salsa bar is spot on with plenty of mild and spicy salsa. This food is hard to resist and very affordable. Great Job Ranchito~ you’re amazing.

I LOVE their breakfast burritos, but was very disappointed twice. Hung over –all I could think about was their potatoes in their breakfast burrito(no beans, no meat). FYI: You MUST ask for potatoes in the breakfast burritos. Silly thing to say, but I ended up with a tortilla of egg and cheese. Something you could easily whip up at home. I could literally call any other Mexican food restaurant and guarantee potatoes will automatically be apart of the burrito. They should fix this…

Great al pastor tacos and carne asada tacos. Be sure to order the horchata! Everything feels fresh and authentic and this place is worth the drive even if you don’t live in Poway.

I am a big fan of first impressions. I just started working in the area and wanted a chicken burrito for lunch. Came here based on the reviews and was not disappointed. They have a grilled chicken and shredded chicken option but you have to ask for shredded, which is what I did. Paired with their red salsa from the salsa bar, this was delicious. The salsa is top notch, great blend of sweet and heat. For sure will be back. Only caveat is it is a little pricey for a hole in the wall joint. Burrito and soda came to just under $ 9.

It’s hard to find a really good taco shop like this! I have gone to many many taco shops in So Cal, and this is one of the best. The food is super fresh, and the service it quick and friendly. I almost always order the flautas, those come out crispy, hot, with all the right goodness on them. I also have tried their hard shell tacos, which are delish too! Fresh fried shells. It’s probably not your authentic Mexican food, more American-ized, but it’s what we like in So Cal.

Came here the other day after getting my nails done next door and what a mistake it was. Ordered the rolled tacos combo to go(which is just a paper plate with tin foil –watch out) and was so disappointed. The guacamole was TERRIBLE beyond belief and the meat tasted like it wasn’t properly cooked. Took a couple bites before I gave up. Affordable prices, but will not be returning.

I love El Ranchito! I’ve been coming here for decades now and the food that I always order… Carne Asada Burrito never fails nor disappoints. The folks that work there are practically family! Keep on rocking El Ranchito! Much love!

This is my go to Mexican Food joint. It’s not the best in San Diego. but it definitely has some tasty flautas. Hubster and I will usually order chicken and beef flautas to share. They also change up their salsa to make the experience quite interesting. Their standard red salsa can give you the runs if you are not built to tolerate spicy. But goddaymn it’s delicious and so spicy. you just can’t stop! It’s humble and family owned. the prices are reasonable and well worth filling your belly. I do return and absolutely do recommend! Mmm~ flautas!

Yum is the only reasonable word to describe this place. Burritos large and fairly priced. Food tastes good too. California burrito is the best in my opinion

Great authentic mexican food and their customer service is great. We had our pet with us so we were going to order and have our food in the car… well, they were so nice to set up a table outside so we could enjoy their delicious food! Had the beef tacos with side of beans and rice!!! Pickled carrots and green tomato(tomatillo) salsa are delish! Their enchiladas are also a must!!!

I was looking for some Mexican food and of course I had to hit up Unilocal. This was walking distance from my hotel so I figured, why not? I was not disappointed. I got the carne asada burrito and an Al pastor taco. Both meats were really tasty. I’m definitely coming back!

This may be a hole in the wall at a strip mall but it’s one of my favorite stops. I love Mexican food and I am pretty hard to please since I have eaten at some of the worlds best Mexican restaurants. I like this place almost everything on the menu is pretty good. I really like getting the beef tacos with creamy guacamole added. I also enjoy the tacos AL pastor. If you are looking for a dive that has good food this is the place.

Stopped here the first time for some rolled tacos. I’m used to getting ones that are about as thick as my thumb however the ones I got here are about as thick as a C cell battery and are pretty damn awesome. Came back a couple weeks later with my wife. I had a combo plate, she had a chimichanga and they were both awesome. Trying it one more time, getting something a little different, going to see if that’s just as good as the first two times.

Ran in here the other day for a quick lunch while waiting for a pedicure appointment. I wasn’t sure if I should order the large Carnitas Taco or the smaller one. I did know I wanted the French Fries. I don’t know why but fries are always good at Mexican places. Anyways… the friendly lady at the register said that the smaller taco would be more than enough food for me especially with the French Fries. I appreciated her honesty and went with her suggestion. She was right, the small Carnitas Taco was more than enough food and I didn’t even make a dent in my fries. Those fries were really yummy. Oh and the Carnitas were tasty, crispy, and lean. Just how I like it. Prices are reasonable. I paid about $ 5.40 for the Carnitas Taco, French Fries, and an Iced Tea.

These are the cheeeeeeeesiest carne asada fries you’re going to find anywhere! The portion is smaller than your typical big to-go box, but I’m pretty sure there’s more cheese in that small plate than there are in some quesadillas. I knife and fork it and spin my fork around like it’s spaghetti when the cheese doesn’t come off clean. The meat is thin but well seasoned. Guac has always been a funny kind of creamy mixture that tastes a lot like a green sour cream, but oh well. Flauta’s are also tasty so give them a try while you’re at it. $ 1.50 ea. Everything here tastes as it did 5 years ago, so I can appreciate that. Ask for a bottle of the hot sauce if you’re planning on using a lot so you don’t have to fill up a bunch of small paper hot sauce cups.
