Great tacos for the price .99 $ fish tacos can’t argue with that. Great service, good environment. Wish I had a place like this near me but when in The area still be stoping by every time. I didn’t get anything else however so I can’t comment on that.

This place is up there with the few Mexican restaurants I really like and would recommend. Fish tacos are great with large pieces of fish. Their bean and cheese burrito was fresh and flavorful. Their prices are super affordable. Their salsa comes to your table red/green in a plastic squeeze bottle so you don’t have to fill up little cups. Staff was very friendly and checked to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely be back here again when we’re in the area. Free fish taco If you tell them !!!

Yo for real, these burritoes are huge. They stuff them and wrap em up and serve them to you the size of a small child. The califorinia burrito ALSO has rice in it, thats different. The flavors are acceptable but wouldn’t be confussed with a hipster«authentic mexican spices and flavors». They are a good americanized burrito shop that fits in in white bread poway. UnilocalCHECKINDEAL = FREE tiny 0.99 fish taco(as of 6−23−16) Good cheap eats, I like it and recomend it.

Sooooo good! We were so hungry after completing the potato chip hike, and this place really hit the spot. $ 0.99 fish tacos were delicious and the so were the garlic shrimp tacos. However, I thought the surf and turf burrito was just ok(probably bc It didn’t have any beans in it which I found totally odd lol. I guess if you don’t love beans in your burritos, this is the perfect place for you lol). For sure coming again!

I happened to be in Poway the other day and wanted to find a place for lunch where the locals go and this place came up on Unilocal so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada taco with a side of rice and beans. The tacos I thought were pretty average, but they were super cheap. The rice and beans had zero taste. I also ordered a soda. About two-thirds of the way through the soda I looked at my glass and saw a DEADBUG in it! I almost became ill right then and there. I brought it to the server’s attention and she apologized and took it off my bill. A very unfortunate visit.

The 99cent fish tacos here are legit– especially for the price. I also really liked the carnitas taco, but I thought the carne asada was meh. But, I mostly come here for the cheap fish tacos and the occasional carnitas taco if I want to splurge that extra 80 cents(big spender over here). The amount of food you get for that price just can’t be beat in the area. The lunchtime rush is insane though — must be all those people waiting at the DMV. We came around noon, and it took quite awhile to get the attention of the waitress. However, once she took our order, the food came out really quickly. I would suggest getting it to go if it looks super busy and you’re in a rush. They also accept card with no minimum, so that was a huge plus — even though I feel kinda scummy putting $ 2 on a card… Overall, great place to get cheap food. Would recommend.

Perhaps I went on an off night, but this was a massive flop for me. It was our first time there, and I had some diet restrictions, so I fully admit that I spent some time perusing the menu. Our waitress was clearly annoyed by this and I caught her rolling her eyes to the cooks. Off to a bad start. The food came at room temperature and was average at best. Honestly, the fish taco is priced right. It was small and bland. Poor service and average food. Still looking for the ever elusive good Mexican in Poway…

Late review guys. So a coworker of mine decide we should celebrate Cinco De Mayo with some Mexican food. She suggested we order the 99 cent fish tacos. Luckily she was able to place the order of 50 tacos before heading over. I’ve tried plenty of fish tacos but I must admit these have been the best by far. The salsa was fresh and delicious, just like abuela use to make. I can’t wait to try what other deliciousness they may have. We definitely will be ordering again!

Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen here and I generally distinguish a place for one or two specialties. For me with Taco Taco it is the under $ 2 carnitas tacos where 2 or 3 will fill you up. But my son loves fish tacos, flautas and fish and chips and they have all 3 here with their fish tacos ringing it a buck versus 3 or 4 times that at Rubios. My son loves Rubios which to me is expensive and blah… so he wants fish tacos we come here and I dive into the carnitas and both our tummies and my wallet are happy.

I’ve been coming here for a while and I feel I can give a pretty comprehensive review. Pros: Carnitas! Wow. So delicious it’s crazy. I’ve had carnitas taco with guacamole, carnitas chips, and the strange by delicious carnitas fried rice Carne Asada is pretty good. Not the best I’ve had but certainly 3+ stars Cheap fish tacos. Fine quality Overall prices. My family of four will eat for $ 25 on Taco Tuesday Pork adobada is good but not as good as carnitas Fast, friendly service Cons: Refried beans are meh Shrimp is fried and not my thing Bathroom isn’t great but it wasn’t awful This place is great.

I love eating here. The quality of their fish tacos is perfect for the price. One dollar fish tacos? You can’t lose. This place is inbetween the Walmart and DMV in Poway. You know you’re going to be at the DMV for a while so if you need to walk a 100 feet to this place for lunch or dinner is a win. If your looking for a place for those meatless Friday’s then here’s your spot. Now it doesn’t do well to take home so it’s best to eat there. The owners are outgoing and super friendly. Don’t miss out this Lenten season.

I came here for lunch because I was waiting at the DMV for a few hours and got super hungry. I got the fish taco and carne. The food came out fast so I didn’t miss my DMV number being called. My lunch turned out to be 3 bucks. Such a steal!!! Both tacos were delicious. The carne taco had tons of meat and the fish on the fish taco was quite generous also. Their menu said that their carne asada fries is only 5.50, which is quite cheap. I want to come back to try moreeeeee

I gotta say, I was impressed by this cute little taco shop. We were up in Poway visiting some friends and wanted to grab a cheap bite before we headed back down. We drove by this place, checked Unilocal and went inside. The staff gals were very nice and told us to grab a seat. We were surprised that with taco shop prices, they were willing to do table service. It was a nice touch. I had two fish«street» tacos and chicken flautas. For $.99 cents, the fish tacos were epic! For two, we only spent $ 15! What a deal. The only thing holding it back from five stars is the hot sauce. They offer a very mild red and a green. A roasted hotter red would have elevated the entire experience.

The only thing I really come here for is their 99 cents fish tacos. I only come here from time to time when I’m in the area, which isn’t often, and I remember them to be pretty good before. But now it’s just okay. The taco portion size is good for the price. And the fried fish is a good size and nicely crispy. But there’s no flavor to the taco. The sauce barely does anything. And you would have to drench it in hot sauce. My boyfriend ordered a burrito and he was highly disappointed. They need to work on their quality and flavor a bit more.

I like a good taco and Taco Taco Poway makes some pretty good street tacos. However, one thing that bummed me out was that they neglect to tell you about when you are ordering the tacos, was that they do not come with guacamole, and you have to pay and extra .25 per taco for guacamole. Running about a $ 1.80 each, I ordered a carnitas, a carne asada, a adobada taco, and with a Unilocal Check in, I earned a free fried battered fish taco, which normally cost .99. The most impressive taco was the carnitas, not only because they it loaded with tender pork, but it tasted very good. The taco was almost two in one given the amount of carnitas they put in it. The carne asada was good, but would of benefited from some seasoning. The meat was tender enough, but I had to add quite a bit of salsa to give it some flavor. The adobada was very good. The tender morsel of pork were well marinated and seasoned, hence they tasted quite good. The chopped cilantro and onions were fresh, but the white onions probably should of been chopped into smaller pieces. This particular taco would of been so much better than it was, if it came with guacamole. The fish taco was pretty good. The batter on the fish was crunchy, tasted good, and was not to thick. The white fish portion was relatively small, but for their regular price of $ 1, it’s a good deal. The employees were all great and chatty when I engaged in conversation. All in all, the tacos are pretty good at good affordable prices.

The fish tacos, albeit cheap at 99 cents each and you get 1 free with a Unilocal check in, were not nearly as great as I had hoped. The batter was unusually thick(think corn dog if you will), not crispy or flaky, and unfortunately very bland. If it weren’t for the zesty green salsa, it wouldn’t have tasted like anything. The rolled tacos were doused with a creamy guacamole and tons of sour cream, but I’d say a little too much so. The goopy consistency, along with long chunks of poorly chopped lettuce ended up making the rolled tacos themselves a bit unappetizing and soggy. Boyfriend had a carne asada burrito, which normally comes with rice. While we typically don’t care for rice in our burritos, we wanted to try it how they had intended it to be. The carne asada was flavorless as well, no true char, with a taste more along the lines of beef that had been simmering in its own juices. Not the grilled taste we had been hoping for. The rice was also a bit off-putting as well but at least the burrito was of a decent size, if you’re looking to fill up. He also got an adobada taco, which he noted was bland. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was their hot sauce. The red sauce was watery and tasted like tomato paste and water without any hint of heat… Which is why I preferred the green sauce because at least it had more flavor. If you eat in, have a seat at any of the tables and they’ll take your order. You’ll pay at the register before you leave. Interesting style of service, and everyone was friendly. Our total came out to be ~$ 13 and some change, which is pretty affordable considering the number of items we ordered. Quality of flavor, on the other hand, is left to be desired and we probably won’t be returning given the numerous other Mexican food joints scattered throughout the area.

I tried the place out recently and it was really good! I ordered the fish taco and a garlic shrimp taco. Both were really good and fresh! The fish tacos are $ 0.99 only, every day! It doesn’t get any better than that! This place is located deep in Poway, so it’s kind of a long drive from the freeway. But it is definitely worth it! If you check-in, you get a free fish taco! So there isn’t any excuse not to try the fish taco. You won’t be sorry. Overall, this place is really good for the price. They had other things on the menu that looked good. I would definitely come back here again and order the same thing, just more! if you’re in the Poway area and are craving some fish tacos, this place is for you! The service was on point too!

Poway people, do yourselves a favor and come try this place out if you’re feeling up to some Mexican food! I’d come here more frequently if it weren’t so deep in Poway. My sister first noticed this place when she went to Walmart. It’s located right by the DMV. I don’t know about you, but whenever I get Mexican food like tacos and quesadillas, it’s more like a fast food place. This is more like a dining in kind of restaurant. If you’re dining in, you sit at a table and a server brings you out the menu. I ended up getting 3 fish tacos. The fish tacos are 99 cents everyday! They’re a decent size. I should have only gotten 2. Not only are they cheap, but they’re delicious! My nephews got a quesadilla and it was huge! It was good and not greasy. We also got bunuelos which were delicious. It was like funnel cake bites with cinnamon. Employees were really nice and quick. Restaurant is clean. I’d definitely recommend and I will be coming back to try the other foods.
