Been to different indian restos and this is by far the best one! Not too spicy and tastes really good. We always eat here once a week and it’s always amazing!

Good thing it was not a busy Wednesday night, the owner took our orders, cooked the food, and served us all by himself. Pretty impressive! My Wife and I came with her Mom who is very sensitive to spicy food. We asked him to please bring down the heat on all the food, which he did. Unfortunately it was still to spicy for my Mother in Law. Here comes the owner again to the rescue. He offered up yogurt, and regular steamed rice to cool her food down and a Mango Lassi drink, all on the house. –We ordered some Naan(Garlic and regular) –Chicken Biryani Rice –Tandoori Chicken –Palak Paneer & –Beef Seekh Kabab All of it tasted really good, except for some reason there were chicken bone chunks in the Biryani Rice. I understand that there is supposed to be chicken in it, but it was like someone cut up a chicken and left all the extra bones and cartilage in it. Im pretty sure a piece cut or scrapped the back of my throat while I was eating. Its been a few days since and I have some pain when I swallow. I would like to give this place another shot since the food was good and the Owner was so nice… but watch out for the chicken bones

Delicious food every time. The owner is really friendly. Good sized sit down restaurant. It my grandma’s absolute favorite Indian restaurant and she tries every new one that pops up. I recommend

Incredibly slow. We ordered online and pickup time was estimated at 10 – 35 minutes. After arriving around the 22 minute mark, we were told that the website should have said 45+ minutes and that«they are really busy and have a large table», which was only a single table of six people. We were then told the food was going to be another 30 minutes, which put it around the hour mark for our food to be ready. The food is nowhere near good enough to wait for an hour.

This is my go-to Indian buffet in Poway. Excellent food and speedy service. Great place to fill up on delicious Indian food.

Great service, ok food. The owner was very friendly, and talked to us while we were waiting for our order. I ordered tikka masala and it was literally like Indian tomato soup. If I wanted soup I’d open myself up a damn can of Campbell’s. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t tikka masala. I can’t say for the rest of the food, but the«tikka masala» wasn’t good.

Nooooooooo… This poor guy’s business is going to go under. Went there for dinner tonight and I felt so bad for this place. The location is terrible and the food was hit and miss. Got there at 5:50p and were the only patrons for the next 40 minutes while we waited for our food. The owner was super sweet. Talked with us and gave the kids free drinks. Out to-go order came up, smelled good, and $ 54 later we were on our way home to give this place a try. Got rice and chicken tikki masala for the kids. The chicken was not good. Dry and stake in a decent sauce. They, not I ate that dish. Next up, lentils. They were okay. Had a little spice to them. My teenager went back for seconds. The lamb dish was okay too. But watch out for the unexpected bones. Final item was a vegetarian cheese dish in a sauce similar to the tikki masala. Probably the best it of the night, but still disappointing. Had naan, not sure you can go wrong with this item. Sorry dude. I won’t be back.

I was staying in Poway on business and was excited to find an Indian restaurant on Unilocal less than a mile from my hotel. I was equally pleased that they were open late. I think I stopped by at about 8:30 or 9PM. Unfortunately, I found the entrée I ordered to be pretty bland. I asked for it to be spicy, and it was barely even tasty. Not bad, just… nothing. And worse, it was VERY greasy. Like, kinda made my stomach hurt it was so greasy. I’ll upload a photo to show what I mean. The service was quick and the only person I saw working there was nice, though awkward. And their credit card machine wasn’t working, so I had to pay via cash. The garlic naan, however, was very good — and cheap. So was soda/tea from their fountain. So that was a plus. Maybe I just got here on a bad night or they messed up the entrée.

Good Indian food. I would strongly recommend this place. I came here recently with some co-workers for the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. The selection was decent, with around 15 dishes to try. I tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Palak Paneer, the Aloo Gobi, the vegetable samosas, and the jeera rice. Everything was good, especially the Chicken Tikka Masala and the samosas. The owner also gave us garlic naan, which was delicious. Unfortunately, it was 90+ degrees outside and there was no air conditioning in the restaurant, so all of us were sweating quite a bit while eating this food. Totally worth it though. 4 stars.

Delicious fresh Pakistani/indian food! We always order take out. The curries are mouth watering, we love the lamb here, chicken kabobs are juicy, briyani rice here is one of my favorites, Nihari was spicy delicious! Prices are reasonable we keep coming back for more!

4 stars solid! Tried chicken tikka, goat karai, chicken briyani, beef nahari, and garlic naan. Chicken Briyani was solid 4.5, it might be their best items next to goat. Everything but the beef were solid 4+ but the beef wasn’t my thing. It might be because I’m not used to eating beef as Punjabi/Pakistani food. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my thing. Chciken Tikka and goat karai were solid, I’d recommend and get them again. The naans weren’t your super light, can’t get full naan. They were little thicker than your avg. I liked them.

We enjoy this place. I’m a non-meat eater, so a solid Indian joint is like gold. It’s NOT that pretty, ok? It’s hot if it’s hot out and cold if it’s cold out. My biggest beef: no music. But that buffet makes up for most of it. And the owner has heart. And it’s busy. Because there’s a reason. YUMMY town.

Taste– ***** Service– ***** Ambiance– *** Parking– ***** Our family of four decided to hike the infamous«potato chip rock» on July 4th, and worked up an appetite. We all agreed on finding Indian food and turned to our favorite app to find just the right spot. Once again, Unilocalers had it right! We called to make sure they were open on July 4th and my husband got great customer service over the phone, but we didn’t expect the level of customer service we received. Walked in around 7pm and was greeted immediately by the owner. He walked us through options of dining, we can go for the buffet or order dishes to be made. We opted for the buffet because 1. $ 14.99 is a very reasonable price for the variety. 2. There was all this delicious food prepared, we didn’t want to order more dishes to be made. 3. The buffet looked good! The owner was extremely attentive to our needs and we could tell he took a lot of pride in his food/restaurant. He wanted to make sure we tried all the options and was so warm and welcoming we decided right there that we would definitely be returning customers. The food was truly very delicious. My personal favorite dish was the curry lamb. Tender pieces of lamb cooked in a rich flavorful sauce, very lean but not tough at all. Also, really appreciated the fresh and amazing garlic naan from the kitchen. If you are in the area you should most definitely give this place a try. Read a couple of reviews about the«bad customer service» and did not experience any of that, but actually quite the opposite. Great food, great service= winner in my book.

A month ago I would have rated this place a 4 to 4.5 star for their lunch buffet. I was going to Tandoori King every couple of weeks for their lunch buffet($ 8.99) which I found much better than Indian Kitchen down the street. + They always have goat curry. + Tandoori chicken is included in the buffet and not an extra charge — I prefer the naan at Indian Kitchen over Tandoori King’s which is a bit drier and crunchier. Everything was going well at Tandoori King until about a month ago. They closed for a couple of weeks due to what I assume were interior renovations. Once they opened back up the menu was the same but EVERYTHING tasted different. All the curries and the tandoori tasted a lot more bland, the goat pieces were tough and chewy and even the rice in the kheer tasted undercooked and hard.

I’ve been to this place 4 times since they’ve opened. The food is tasty, but the customer service needs work for the following reasons: 1) long wait time for food even if the place is nearly empty 2) A menu item is not what was advertised I ordered the Goat Qorma, which is described on the menu as «BONELESS pieces of goat meat in a creamy sauce…» The dish I got was mostly bones.(I’ll try to attach photos.) When I kindly brought this to the attention of the owner after paying, he said, «It’s supposed to have bones,» and walked away before I could point out that his menu clearly states that the dish is boneless. –_– I thought it was rude that he wasn’t open to feedback when I was being nice about it.

Been here twice now and food is full of flavor. I got the chicken curry and chicken tikka masala. Both were very delicious with the right amount of heat. I also had their naan which was good with their mint chutney. The mint chutney slowly builds up heat and before you know it you will need water lol. I also got the rass malai for dessert and omg as soon as it hit my palate i started salivating because it was that good. Rass malai I definitely recommend for dessert. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu

My first time at this Indian/Pakistani place, just a couple blocks from my place. My bf ordered the chicken masala($ 10), while I ordered the palek paneer(spinach cooked with fresh cheese– $ 8). I also ordered a piece of garlic naan. When I first looked at the menu, I felt impressed with how many things on the menu are priced between $ 8 – 10(for the entrees themselves, but the rice is a la carte. The man who waited on us was not very friendly & really needs to work on his customer service skills. My bf & I are very friendly people & when we mentioned to him(the owner Im assuming) that we live just a few blocks away, he didn’t seem to care and quickly moved on to the people behind us. My experience eating here was very strange. The place was quieter than a library and it just had an incredibly awkward feel to the whole thing. After serving our food, the owner never came to ask us how we were doing or if we needed more water. Cool menu, a little pricier, but the owner really played a huge role in shaping our experience here. I also want to add that I was observing other people interacting with the owner and it seemed equally awkward for them too. I can honestly say that I have never felt more uncomfortable in a restaurant before. It lacked a human element. Aka. There was a complete lack of good customer service here. Food overall was pretty good but I wish it would’ve been hotter temperature wise. Also minus one because my boyfriend and I both got huge chunk of lemongrass stuck in our teeth yuck. On the drive home, my boyfriend and I were discussing our experience. We both agreed that the ambiance and the owner’s lack of friendliness made this a place neither of us would want to come back to. I said that I wouldn’t want to come back here Even if someone else paid and we ordered the food To-Go. I really was psyched to try some new food, but in the end I’m going to stick with Kasi, over by Stater Bros. They are way friendlier and they at least have some décor(not such a high school cafeteria feel to it).

Insanely great food. We are so lucky we live close by and now have this wonderful place We had the palak paneer and chicken qorma. They were very creamy and delicious. This is a family owned place with down home warmth. Yummy mango lassi for dessert. Mmmmm … Good!!!
