I wasn’t feeling well so we decided to order in. I ordered the lamb curry and my boyfriend ordered the chicken tikka marsala. The decided to get extra naan. I was told about an hour for delivery, and they delivered in that time frame, even text me to let me know they were on the way. The delivery driver had trouble locating my apartment so I had to come out to get the food but he was really nice. Everything was really good. I will deflate let order from there again.

I got the chicken tikka masala & saag paneer lunch special with an extra garlic naan to-go. I’m no expert on Indian food by any means, but this is probably the worst I’ve had so far. I also didn’t like how they used styrofoam for this sauce and the heat ate through it. Chicken tikka masala(1⁄5): the sauce was watery and lacked flavor, while the chicken was dry Saag paneer(2⁄5): slightly better than the chicken Basmati rice(1.5÷5): the rice at other places were more flavorful Plain & garlic naan(2⁄5)

Wow, I’m not sure how this place got 4.5 stars. Maybe it’s because you get huge portions for cheap. I ordered the Chicken Tikka to be delivered, thinking it was Chicken Tikka Masala. Unfortunately it was done kabob style and was so dry and salty, we couldn’t eat it. I then had to order the chicken tikka masala again to get the one in the curry. The meat was SODRY. No amount of curry could help. Even the rice was dry. We also ordered the samosas which were good. I wouldn’t order from this place again since Ashoka the Great delivers to our company and they seem to have better quality meats. If this is a 4.5 star Indian restaurant… I really don’t think people know what they’re eating. Real Indian food is so much better.

Wonderful! Lots of great flavors. The lunch special from 11 – 3:30 provides a ton of food for under $ 10. I have enough for dinner. Very friendly.

The good thing is that the the price point, the lunch special is quite filling and a deal. For 7.99 you get a lot which is supposed to include soup, 2 entrees, rice, naan and a drink. The food was pretty darn good. Spice level was generic enough for the lunch masses. The soup is sort of a tomato curry thickened soup, so it went well both with naan and over my rice. I got the tandoori chicken and vegetable korma, so I wanted a bit more curry to spread over my rice. I ordered a side of somosas and it was packed full of potatoe-y goodness and came with two addictive dipping sauces. I would definitely come back here just for the food. The bad thing was that I think they were either having a terrible day yesterday OR the service is abysmal. First thing was that the lunch combo came with a drink. The lady up front regrettably informed everyone that there was just water today.(Was the soda machine broken? Ran out of syrup? Ran out of CO2?) Oh, but there’s an iced tea dispenser next to it. Oh, that’s not working either?(Ran out? Broken??) It was a bit confusing but at the end of the day I got a cup of iced water and no considerations were made for the lack of anything else to drink. That in it of itself would have been fine except for the wait. OOOOOHHHHHTHEWAIT. I timed myself because I was trying to make sure that I got back to work in time for a meeting. I waited for just under an hour. ANHOUR. In that hour I waited to order, ordered, figured out the water situation, walked over to 7 – 11 to get coffee, put the drinks in the car, headed back over to the restaurant… and waited. About 45 minutes in the lady mentioned something to me about the oil? I was going to tell her to just refund the somosa, and switch out the tandoori chkn, but she said it was almost ready… 2 minutes. 2 minutes… and by the time I walked out the door it was an hour. This for a lunch time to-go order is pretty unacceptable. I would like to think they were having a terrible day(I did watch some people who ordered after me get their orders as I was leaving)… The lady was friendly and apologized, but I would think that after that long of a wait something else could have been done to compensate. Overall: The food was good, but I’m uncertain if the wait was a fluke or normal. I may consider calling in my order next time.

Nice clean restaurant, good service, a bit more like a fast food restaurant gone sit down when they got their wine license. Onion naan is great stuffed with tons of onion. Medium hot tandoori was hotter than expected. Veggie korma flavor is delightful with raisins too! Mango milkshake is to die for.

I absolutely love this place! The customer service is great and I feel the food is fresh and just amazing! You have to call ahead of time if you want kheer to ensure they have it, but it’s a process to make so I understand of I may just drop by and they’re out. If I were to recommend anything, it would be their chicken mahkni(I know I didn’t spell that right, but you get the idea). It’s tandoori chicken with a red buttery sauce with streamed rice. FABULOUS! Feel free to try anything though because I’m sure it’s all pretty good. And of course… The kheer. They soak the nuts used overnight it seems in a warm water bath and it definitely makes the dish.

Had a hankering for some great Indian food, so based on Unilocal reviews decided to give this place a shot! I went at lunchtime and other reviewers are correct, the daily lunch combination is a deal at $ 7.99. Here’s what I got: Chicken Teaka Masala Chicken Vindaloo($ 0.50 extra for 2 meats?) Garlic Naan($ 1.00 extra) Soup Drink So for just over $ 10 I was on my way to New Delhi! The restaurant was extremely clean(next time I might think about eating there) and the food was extremely fresh. I like my food a little spicy, and when I asked what spice-temperature they served there food at, the server said that all of their food is prepared mild to medium, but she would provide me with additional spices to kick it up a notch. The food was really good, and I didn’t get to try the soup(too very full). So if the food was so great, restaurant was clean, and service was OK, why only four out of five stars? Well things tended to fall apart at the drink level. On their soda machine, which should have every imaginable type of soda Coca-Cola offers, they basically only had soft drinks with sugar. Hopefully next time they’ll get the soda machine fixed and we’ll be off to the races with five out of five stars.

Absolutely love this place; especially satisfying if you’re looking for authentic and delicious Indian food! If you’re looking for a steal, come during lunch. The lunch special is $ 7.99 for two dishes(a selection of a variety of meat or veggie plates) and comes with rice and a drink. You can easily upgrade different items for cheap, such as garlic naan. After several visits, I came with a group of people for lunch, so we had the chance to try almost all of the items on the list. Out of them, my favorites are: Vegetable Korma, Chicken Tikki Masala, and the Matter Paneer. Vegetable Korma: a delicious, creamy base with a variety of veggies. So good! The veggies blended into the creamy sauce make for a heavenly combo. Pretty light yet flavorful. Chicken Tikki Masala: has a little bit of spice to it, with deliciously tender chunks of chicken. So good! And the sauce that it’s in is fantastic too. Again, creamy and so good. Matter Paneer: definitely need to try this! Probably my favorite. This is cheese-based I believe, so you get a taste of cheese; however, you still get the curry taste, and the cheese doesn’t feel out of place whatsoever. I think it just adds flavor to the already delicious base. The peas that come in it give it a slight texture and additional umph that really works. GARLICNAAN: please get this! The naan is so crispy yet fluffy at some parts. But the garlic though. You can smell it from across the restaurant as they’re bringing it to you. So heavenly and good. Love this place! It’s a small little shop, but boy do they serve good food. Five stars because I definitely crave it.

Little hole in the wall restaurant that offers a great experience! Very clean and artsy restaurant once you walk in the door. They only play Indian music which I thought was a little too much at first but I opened up to it haha. Lunch special with soup, naan bread, chicken tikka masala, Chana masala, and a drink for $ 7.99! The whole meal was great! Great place to come for lunch!

Lovely little place. Came here to pick up lunch after reading everyone’s positive reviews and had a pleasant experience. Ordered the lunch special which oh my gosh is SO affordable, especially with the amount of food you receive! Got 2 servings of the chicken tikka masala, rice, tomato soup, and upgraded my naan to the garlic naan. All of it was absolutely delicious, and it came with a medium drink! I didn’t even finish all of the food. Definitely come here for some quick, easy, affordable Indian food. All of the staff was SO nice too.

Look, it’s not super authentic. For chrissake’s it’s got«Xpress» in it’s name. But the lunch special is an amazing deal: it’s filling, it does the job, and the staff are nice. My husband and I went with the chicken tikka masala, veggie korma, palak paneer, tandoori chicken. Added on a mango lassi for $ 2. Pros: * $ 7.99 for 2 curries, rice/naan, soup of the day(mine was a cream of tomato soup that hit the spot), soda from one of those awesome magic Coke machines * Lots of options for the lunch special * Mango lassi is really good and doesn’t skimp on the mango * Plenty of well-cooked/seasoned rice to soak up the curry * We showed up with a slightly fussy toddler but the staff were nice to him, getting him extra plates/napkins, putting the high chair next to our table, etc. Cons: * It’s not the best naan ever, but it’s warm and serviceable. Didn’t taste like it came from a blisteringly hot tandoor oven, but hey it’s the burbs in Rancho Bernardo and I just paid $ 7.99 for that combo so I’m happy. * It definitely tastes a bit westernized with the spice level dialed down, though I was surprised that the palak paneer had a bit of a kick * Tandoori chicken comes w/2 pieces which seemed like a huge portion and when I saw the pieces I realized why — it looks like the leg/thigh of a cornish hen. It’s the right size for the lunch portion, but don’t expect something massive(that’s what she said). Both a pro and a con: it’s filling. It’s rich. It’s heavy. Welcome to post-lunch food coma.

The lunch special is amazing. I’m so glad I work around this area lol. Two curries(If you choose two meats, you have to pay a little extra) and soup and naan and rice and a fountain drink for $ 7.99 wtf!!! Also, the soda machine is kinda cool hehe. Soup was delicious and curries were surprisingly tasty as well. Parking can be a bit difficult, especially with Jersey Mike’s in the same plaza. I would suggest going either a bit early or a bit late for lunch and you’ll get parking for sure. The lunch special will keep you extremely full, so be aware of the impending doom of the food coma after. It’s gonna hit you hard unless you prepare for it! I like taking some of my food back to the office and reheating it for the next day. Still tastes as good, and you just got two meals for $ 8! What can I say, I’m hooked. I’ll be coming back!

Indian Food in Ranch Bernardo area is such a rarity, and thank goodness this place is amazing! They just opened up about a year ago, right next to Kelly’s Pub. Parking is plentiful, you shouldn’t have a problem as it is in a plaza with many other shops/restaurants. Expected this place to be fast-food ish due to their name«Xpress», but if you are dining it you get the whole service package. Nice clean dining area. You can tell they are popular for take out and delivery as they were getting calls and people walking in for to-go orders all the time. I ordered the Vegetables Samosa which were very tasty. The outside wrapper was crunchy. I only wished it was a little less salty but that is a personal preference of mines. I also ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala. It was made with a nice onion and tomato base, and nice portions of diced chicken. I only ate about ¼th of the masala and was soooo full. The portions were right. Don’t forget to ask for more rice, on the house if needed. The Garlic Cilantro Naan was also on point. I do wish it included more. The side included 4 pieces of naan. The service is worth coming back for. They were super friendly, attentive, and very personable. I felt welcomed. Definitely will come back. Tip: They have their smaller version at the North Country Mall in Escondido in the food court!

Cheap eats. Good lunch special with includes rice and 2 entrees. It’s a good size portion. Garlic naan and samosas were good. They even have Vegetarian Monday’s, w/20% off. But very buttery type food. bhagan Bharta is a favorite dish of mine, and as a special for the day, it was not good here… Eggplant diced into small pieces like the onions in a buttery sauce, nothing like I’m used to. The flavors are good though, and if I’m really craving for Indian food, I might come back, but there are a lot of good Indian places in Poway. There’s was Bollywood playing on screen which was entertaining. Cashier wasn’t unfriendly, but customer service felt like a fast food place. Tandoori express.

Came here on Sunday around 1:30pm and it was not busy. Their $ 7.99 lunch special is the best way to go. Choose two entrees and it comes with rice, naan, soup of the day, and a drink! Came here with family and we tried: chicken tikka masala, vegetable korma, chicken vindaloo, and chana masala. The chana masala had a nice spicy kick. Their naan was very hot so you could tell it was fresh! And everything else was really good. I’m not sure what the soup was but I believe it was some kind of tomato based soup. The owners are very friendly and told us we could get more naan if we needed. It’s nicely decorated and modern inside. They have select beers and house wines available as well! They also play some sappy Indian pop music videos on their TV screen for your entertainment! Lol

Made my first visit tonight, and had the Tandoori Chicken and a side of garlic naan. The naan was solid and tasty, but the chicken was somewhat mediocre. The meat appeared to be low quality, with the meat dark/black near the bone. The we’re an overwhelming number of onions, and they were significantly undercooked, almost raw. I’ve eaten Indian food on a regular basis for a long time, both here in the U.S. and in India, so I’m a bit particular. The overall flavor is good, but they need to pay attention to the details to become a 4 or 5 star restaurant. I’d grade them«OK» with a 2.75 because the service is friendly and fast.

Dude, first off their Lunch special is so awesome. You choose two entrees and they give you a ton of rice, naan, soup and a regular sized soda all for $ 7.99. You should get here right when they open because a little after 11:30AM during the week and you have a flux of people coming in for lunch. I have to say when you get the food to go they are so kind to thoroughly wrap the styrofoam box with saran wrap after they put foil on top of the two main entrees within the styrofoam box. They wrap the soup up with saran wrap too. Man, I really appreciate the time they take so that your food stays intact on the go. I’ve never seen that much effort before. I wonder if it’s cause it’s one of the first orders of the day but they had like 50 order to go while my friend went to pick up the food. Vegetable korma is creamy and yummy and it balances out the the chicken vindaloo. The Vegetable korma does have little kick to it but its a slow heat to the flavor. It seems like they use dark meat for the chicken vindaloo. Oh yeah, tons of rice of course. If you have this to go, you can the rice for another home made dish if you’re feeling like another rice dish. I would so come back here. One of the best lunch specials I’ve had in a long while. Keep it up!

This Indian eatery has some smashing lunch specials. I stopped in for just that and ordered the lunch combo which came with a cup filled of piping hot chicken soup, chicken tikka masala, three pieces of chicken tandoori, warm regular naan, and a plate filled of fluffy basmati rice all for $ 8.99 plus .50 cents more for the two meat choice. Every was great. First, the cup of chicken soup. The soup was full bodied with a great chicken savory flavor, with a small amount of vegetables, and bits of tender pieces of chicken. The seasoning of the soup was on the mark. This cup of soup was a great way to start my lunch, but the best was yet to come. The lunch serving was quite generous indeed. I was very pleased with the three pieces of tandoori chicken. It was very well prepared, tender all the way through, and tasted great. I received two legs and a large thigh. The tandoori came with sauteed onions and green peppers which were very tender and tasty. The chicken tikka masala was very good as well, but in this case, it also packed some heat in a good way. The chicken, all white breast meat was tender for the most part, but what had me smiling was the great masala sauce. The sauce had a very good thick and rich consistency and was full of great flavors of cumin, coriander, cardamon, nutmeg, paprika, and no doubt cayenne pepper. The tomato base sauce was well balance between the tomatoes and the spices and herbs above. The sauce was terrific to mix up with the basamati rice and eat with a little naan bread. The basamati rice was very well prepared in that is was nice and fluffy with excellent separation between the rice pieces. The naan bread arrived a little after my meal did straight out of the oven. It was piping hot, a generous portion, and soft and moist. I ate the bread with the tandoori chicken and tikka masala. Great stuff. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The customer service was friendly and attentive. Great lunch special.

Taste– ##### Ambiance– #### Service– ##### Parking– ##### I don’t know what I have done in my past lifetime to deserve this, but it’s like Christmas came early this year. This little place opened just a few miles from my house, and no longer will have to trek down to Miramar to get great Indian food, it’s now within biking distance!(and you will need it to burn off all those calories) Watching the Bollywood videos playing made me think of a few things: 1. Indian girls must have a hard time keeping slim with so many delicious dishes started with ghee. 2. What’s up with Indian guys and their mustaches? 3. Up tempo Bollywood music makes me consume curry at a fast pace and in great quantities. Well played Tandoori Xpress, well played… Not that I mind, because I used my spoon like it’s a shovel; «get in my belly!» We ordered the chicken tikka masala, the matar panner and the lamb curry. I really can’t pick which was my favorite, because they were all amazing. My husband mentioned that it was probably one of the best chicken tikkas he’s ever had and we loooooove us some Indian food; from the East Coast to the West; «from the window, to the wall.» I think it was love at first taste today, «I’ll be back.»
