Legacy has very good kids’ classes. My daughter has attended 2 of them and she brings home the most amazing things. The 2 ladies that own it are very friendly and work well with children. My youngest can’t wait to take classes this summer. I always check out their site for classes in the summer and when the kids are out on school breaks. I highly recommend the classes if your child is into crafts.

How does this store not have a Unilocal page already?! Visiting from California for my brother’s wedding and decided to make he and his new wife a scrapbook/album of their wedding pictures. My mom lives just down the road from Legacy and I noticed the little sign placed out by the road advertising the store being a scrapbooking store. Fortunately they have the small road sign or I’d have not noticed the place, since it’s set back from the road in the little strip mall. The two ladies working when I came in were very nice, but seemed almost to not be expecting a customer. I imagine business isn’t hopping on a Tuesday at 4:30 normally but it was kind of funny how they both looked at me somewhat wide-eyed when I walked in(or maybe it’s just that I’m a tattooed 20something, an oddity in Powell from what I can tell). They seemed to be preparing for an inventory check but stopped to chat with me until I was ready to just look around myself. Legacy is very well organized — which I love — into categories such as holidays, seasons, sports, etc. There’s also an extensive paper selection, unsurprisingly. The handmade papers(a small rack in the middle-ish of the store) were lovely. There are all kinds of decorative implements in the stickers, decals, and other add-ons. And, in case you find yourself in need, there was a big bowl of different buttons(like shirt buttons) with a shot glass in it — $ 1.50 a scoop. Can’t beat that! My only criticisms are that there was a limited supply of several things, like on the display hook there’d only be one pack of a kind of stickers or one sheet of a certain paper. Maybe they had more and they weren’t on the sales floor, I don’t know. Also, the lady who I believe is the owner recommended a certain paper to me, called pow glitter I think, that was $ 2.50 a page. She and I had chatted a bit about what I was making and so she knew what I’d be using the paper for. Well, either she had never used this paper before or was just trying to sell me the more expensive paper, but nothing simple will stick to this paper as far as adhesives. My photo sticker tabs won’t stick, liquid glue won’t stick and warps the paper, so I’ve been using a combination of glue stick/tape/pressure of a heavy book to get my photos to stick, which obviously is slowing down my process. I heard the ladies discussing kids’ classes they teach at Legacy, which sounded to be going well and successfully, and a woman came in while I was there and asked about their adult classes so they’ve apparently got both, so that’s nice for folks in the area looking for a place to get their craft on.
