Not the best BBQ place I have been to but not the worst I do not recommend eating here unless you like paying $ 78 for 4 people!!! We enter the BBQ and stand in front at the counter and wait 15MINUTES for service!!! Once we did finally order the food came out fast! We went to our table which had crumbs all over it and SAUCE crap. I got the ribs thing half a rack I think. the ribs were COLD!!! The ribs had WAYTOMUCHSAUCE!!! My ribs were covered in tons of SAUCE!!! My friend got the pulled pork sandwich which was also COLD!!! They do wood smoke their stuff and the smoker is RIGHTBYTHEDOOR so all the smoke gets all inside the restaurant!!! It was awful!!! Pros: Food comes out fast! Free soda refills Cons: Bad service Sketchy parking lot with 2 spots or you park across the street at the gas station Nasty bathroom Table was COVERED in crumbs and sauce

Just what you’re looking for to satisfy that craving… Really authentic bbq flavor, delicious tangy sauce(get the spicy) and simple straightforward cole slaw. Pork ribs were delicious, great smoky flavor, falling off the bone. The décor left a little too be desired… plastic chairs and bare light bulbs in mason jars, but overall it was great.

Yum! Good service too! My 4 year old loved the BBQ chicken biscuit and my BBQ pork sandwich and potato salad were fantastic. Also, don’t get the«hooch» sauce unless you want your face melted!

Stopped by for lunch on Fri and had a huge mound of good meat! The owner was the one working and was very nice and helpful in serving me. I had the brisket and two ribs with a side of beans. The ribs were really big with a lot of meat on them they were cooked well and had good flavor. The brisket was cooked very nicely as well. The reason I am only giving 3 stars at this time was I could not really taste the meat as it was covered in sauce. I like sauce but when it overpowers the meat you hide all of the hard work. I will go back and ask for the sauce on the side and be able to give a true review.

Wow. Just found this place and thought it was fantastic. The ribs were gigantic, the biscuits and sides were great. My cardiologist has no worries of losing his job anytime soon. Edit: Just want to add since some guy decided to pull the«I’m a BBQ expert and if you like this place you must be an idiot» card. Me and friends every year travel to eat at all the BBQ top spots. We’ve hit St Louis, Memphis, Kansas City and Austin. This place sauces their meat, and if that isn’t your thing get it on the side. They really know how to smoke and spice their meat and the quality is consistently excellent.

Sometimes you want BBQ after a good hike; and sometimes you NEEDBBQ after a good hike, so here it is, because you need it, and you want it. This is the deliciousness you have been looking to slap your own face with, because you want their sauce all over your face. They have nicely stuffed sandwiches, and plate of BBQ… I’m sure they have more, but that’s all I ever get there, so that’s what I’m going to recommend. Sandwiches, which are stuffed with their BBQ meats, shredded and layered with a light smattering of their tasty sauce. It’s a good sized hoagie, so prepare to have your stomach filled completely in a way that puts your silly face in it’s place. I enjoyed the Trailboss and other aptly named delights, the bread is just right, and it sucks up the sauce, just like you will be, once it’s drips down your arms, causing you to feel like a man/woman on a mission, a mission of BBQ questing. The plates… the Combo Plates are delish, because they offer one with Ribs, chicken, and two sides… because that is delicious, and you should pinch yourself, because it’s a smokey, sweet, spicy, flavorful slice of woody heaven. Also, if that’s a bit much, they have a brisket, or pulled pork plate, also fantastic. It’s moist, tender, and with a little bit of sauce, to complete the package. Other reviewers are talking about a «Brunswick Stew» but I have no idea what that is, but everyone seems to be raving about it, so I guess I should jump in my car, and drive over to that side of the highway. Recommendations? If you are hiking or in the area, because you might be, will be, future self will be, then stop by, assuming you come by when they are open during their normally posted hours, and eat some food. Suck it down with a coke, and thank someone, that you are in ‘Murica, where this stuff is legal and blessed.

It’s a good thing this place isn’t closer to my house, because l’d probably eat lunch there every day. Pork Trail Boss. Extra spicy hooch and a liter of cola.

Hits the spot after an hour drive! Of course I look out of place in my pencil skirt and high heels, but I don’t mind. I’m getting ribs. It releases from the bone so easily. The savory meat and the slightly sweet sauce was just the right balance. The cashier was very friendly and noticed how out of place I was, he set me up nicely with hand towels and made me feel more comfortable. I noticed he did this with everyone that came in and I can see why he has repeat customers. I took a half rack home to share with my husband, but I couldn’t resist. I ate it myself! I’ll have to hope to be able to take another work trip out there so I can get lunch AND dinner again.

Well even if my husband didn’t absolutely love BBQ, we still would be in love with this place. We got the«smokin combo» and holy moly it was good. We chose the slaw and Jack Mac as our sides and they were just as delicious. The links are spicy and smoky goodness. The chicken is juicy and tender. The ribs were fall off the bone Heaven that’s hard to find. Next time we are in the area we will make sure to stop by and come in. Even if we aren’t in the area, we will stop by and come in.

Ate lunch here for the second time, and both times it has been great. Very friendly staff, laid back and relaxed. The menu is smallish, but more than enough good stuff to consider. They have Brunswick Stew, which is a personal favorite. Their version is very tasty. It’s available in two sizes and is full of meat and veggies and a delicious BBQ sauce. The large could def be a meal by itself. I had the BBQ pork platter. For less than $ 10 you get a mound of pork, beans, slaw and a biscuit. The pork was very good. Great flavor, enough charred bits to give it some texture. I had the spicy sauce which was just right. It has a little too much sauce for my taste. I prefer a bit more lightly sauced approach, but it was certainly tasty. The slaw and beans were both excellent sides. Well done! My only minor complaint is the biscuit. It was a perfectly good biscuit, homemade and all… but I just don’t think biscuits go with BBQ. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a biscuit served with BBQ. I would have much preferred a plain slice of white bread, or even a soft roll. It was perfectly good and all… just a personal preference. I’ll def be back, and will try the brisket next time.

This place is awesome and by far the best BBQ I have found in WA State. It isn’t mustard based which I love and am use to living in the South for so long but its really, really good. I got the special and it included a ton of food for a great price, their BBQ sauces are very good as well. Its worth a drive to pick up, I found it too warm to eat inside but 10min from Issaquah to bring home was easy. I will be back!

Yum! I love random places like this. By a gas station. Almost in the middle of nowhere. The meat was delicious! And the guys working the counter were super great. The meal was fantastic After our nice hike. We ordered the ribs and chicken plate which came with beans, cole slaw and a biscuit, and we got beers! Great place to stop after an adventure.

I travel the country for work, and am a BBQ enthusiast. I stop at pretty much every non-chain BBQ joint I pass on my travels. I went here based on high ratings. I’m assuming the people who rated this higher than one star don’t get around too much, and likely think a chicken breast they throw on the grill and dump a bottle of kraft bbq sauce on is «barbecue». I personally think that meal would be a nice upgrade from the slop served here which tastes and looks exactly like the 3.99 tubs of chicken and pork floating in bbq sauce you get from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. The sides are as bland as it gets, reminiscent of nursing home or school cafeteria food. Any time you order«beef brisket platter» and are presented a dark brownish red pile of shredded meat that looks and tasted like beef jerky floating in cafeteria BBQ sauce you know you’ve been had. It was also impossible to distinguish from the«pulled pork platter», another bad sign. Avoid it at all costs, ESPECIALLY if you are a fan of BBQ. If you don’t know how to cook or use a grill, and usually eat McDonald’s, Subway, Wendy’s and Famous Dave’s and haven’t been in more than 3 zip codes in your lifetime on your food, business, or pleasure travels, you’ll love it.

We were driving thru and led here by Unilocal for amazing rating and desire for BBQ. Cannot believe that the current rating is 5 stars… Totally overinflated and a complete disconnect from our experience. This is less than mediocre BBQ, not the amazing place as currently overhyped. Although they have a smoker going in the front, it’s just for show — we could not taste any smokiness in any of the meats. Meats were drowned in blah-sauce. Chicken was very dry and tough. Way overpriced for the quantity and quality of food. Portions were small. Most outrageously priced are the combo plates(tried both). Definitely misrepresented. Feel let down by Unilocal.Would not come back

Don’t you hate it when a BBQ establishments tout their so-called spicy sauce as spicy? 90% of BBQ places I visited should pull that sticker right off their bottles. Now on the other hand, Rhodie and their extra spicy HOOCH sauce; now that is what I call spicy sauce. It provides the necessary heat to keep your throat warm while complimenting the smokiness of the BBQ meats. I ordered the Smokin’ Combo: this combo contained 4 ribs, 2 big pieces of chicken and two hot links smothered in that aforementioned HOOCH sauce. Normally, I prefer the dry style barbeque and eat it with the sauce on the side. This will be my exception, gimme that HOOCH on everythang! The ribs, chicken and links all had that smoke built into every bite and were all juicy and not dry. What was interesting is that I wrapped up half of it to go and ate it the next morning for breakfast. You know what? It tasted EVENBETTER the next day! A paper flyer on their wall said that their Brunswick stew was also available. When I brought it home, the stew reminded me of a thick BBQ chili composed of smoked pork, beef brisket, chicken, corn, beans, spinach and okra. Damn, that meat was good and so satisfying. Passing through I-90 area anytime soon between Issaquah and North Bend? Give Rhodie’s a try off exit 22.

Decided to go back 11 days later. The man working instantly recognized my girlfriend and I. We decided to order the same thing we did on our first visit to see the consistency(spare ribs, bbq chicken). Everything looked and tasted the same. Opted out the coleslaw for the potato salad. Everything here seems like It’s made in-house and It’s great. What really got the 5th star was; the man working remembered our conversation on our first visit about the hooch sauce not being as hot. He brought out a special container with some stuff he made especially hotter just for us. That’s great service in my book

As a displaced southerner(IE: I love and understand good BBQ), I have to say the ribs here are by far the best I’ve had outside of the South and are dramatically better than anything else I’ve tried in the Seattle area. Superb flavor, tasty sauce, juicy and not dry. The beans and the pepper jack mac were wonderful as well. The pulled pork was served already in its sauce, which is how they always made it in Mississippi. I prefer to get the pork plain and add sauce myself, but I have to say this was the best preparation I’ve had pre-sauced. My son loved his pulled pork sandwich as well. Staff was super-friendly! I wish Preston was closer. But I’ll make the 35 minute drive down to enjoy this again. Not just the best BBQ I’ve had on the west coast, but the best by a huge margin.

I will eat here again. I had the pork and chicken combo. it came with beans and coleslaw. the beans were very good and the bbq’d meat was tender and exactly what I was expecting. Homemade sauce was tasty(I had the mild) I’m looking forward to try other cuts of smoked meat

I have come here a couple of times now and have only gotten take out(right off of exit 22 on I-90). The restaurant itself is pretty basic, but the smell of smoke is always a good sign when you walk into a barbecue joint. I have tried: BBQ ribs: big and meaty Chicken: nice and moist Baked beans: really good, with pieces of bacon in it Cole slaw: not bad(standard) The first time I came here, the sauces were added onto the meat already. The mild and the spicy are not much different in heat level(they also have a hooch hot style, but I haven’t tried it yet), but I would recommend you ordering the sauce on the side so that you can taste the meat and the smoke first. Overall, pretty good barbecue that isn’t too far away(at least from Issaquah). I will have to come back and try the brisket, as well as the sandwiches that they offer.
