We had a party of 10 for dinner last night. Started out great until dinner came out and 5 out of the 10 dinners fell on the floor. The waiter decided to serve half the table any way. All side orders got cold and the other 5 dinners came out undercooked after everyone else was done. Major disappointment. Was looking forward to a great time. Service service service failed big time.

Went to Ruth Chris for Fathers Day and it was exceptional. The Chilean Sea Bass was absolutely marvelous. We also had the NY Strip and Lobster Mac & Cheese which was seasoned very well. The service was very good and couldnt ask for a better Fathers Day. Thanks Ruth Chris for making great day.

Best steak around, but the two stars are solely for the service or lack there of. The friendliest person we met throughout our entire experience was the valet on Friday night. We expected a wait so we requested to sit on the patio since we could clearly see empty tables and it was nice out. The hostess station was clearly overwhelmed, I don’t know if they were new or just incapable of making decisions but we put our name on the list and sat at a cocktail table in the bar area. We quickly learned that the bartenders were also clearly overwhelmed and incapable of clearing anything or of taking orders or of having personalities. A very tall male bartender came out from behind the bar to check on the cocktail tables, never even noticing we were there even though we were clearly trying to get his attention… I feel sorry for anybody that was in the lounge area because their tables were completely full of dirty plates and dirty dishes empty glasses and the bartender didn’t even try to pick them up or get them out-of-the-way…that’s when I gave up and decided to just go to the bar to try to order a drink when a young black female bartender came by I said«hi how are you» and she barely picked up her head I think she mumbled something and walked away… I guess these people aren’t familiar with how to greet a customer or how to take a drink order and they clearly don’t want to make any tips. Just then we were saved from the abomination of trying to order a drink at the bar by the hostess saying our table is ready. She pointed to the table area next to the bar and said that that was our table and she was going to get us menus… So we walked over to the table that she had pointed out and on our way we got accosted by Kathleen demanding that if we want to be seated there we have to get seated by the hostess… We proceeded to tell her that we were being seated by the hostess and she went to get us menus… And guess who our server was! If you guessed Kathleen… Eventually her server assistant came over to give us water… Now I hope to God that he was in training because this kid had zero personality whatsoever and had no clue what he was doing… He never even acknowledged our existence, he was actually talking to her about 10 feet away while he poured our water. After we got bread Miss Personality came over and asked us if we were ready… No greeting no introduction no anything. We gave her our drink orders appetizer order and when she brought our drinks we gave her our food order… after that things seemed to get back on track because we didn’t have to deal with anybody else really… The first food runner brought us our calamari and was pleasant… server assistant never cleared anything, I just took our plates and put them on the tray stand next to us eventually because I was tired of looking at them. The second food runner that actually brought us our meal just basically threw it at us. I honestly didn’t even know that we were getting our food because he just came from behind me and all he said was«medium rare». At least he could’ve said«hello» or «I have a ribeye medium rare»… I thought he was bringing somebody’s re-cook out Whatever the food was great and then the server disappeared, so did her server assistant. The two tables next to us were incredibly frustrated and the party of four next to us walked out before they got their meal because they couldn’t get any attention at all… I don’t know maybe it was just an off day for them but it was a very stressful and frustrating experience all for a really good steak. I would think that you would want the best people to work on Friday nights, want the cream of the crop, the best of the best to work all the time in the steakhouse where it’s easily $ 100 a head The servers have to tip out at least the bartenders and the server assistant so put on a smile and have a little personality and then you’ll get a better tip

This has to be one of their prettier restaurants they have, since I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris around the country. All 4 of us had perfectly cooked food/steaks, good waiter /busboy, and a nice evening all around. Thanks!

It was my boy friends mother’s birthday. Steaks were awesome. Side dishes were great. Five stars for our sever. I wanted to surprise her with her birthday dessert since I knew for sure that we were not going to order desserts. Staffs surprised us with awesome chocolate cake and pudding. Anyways, would definitely come back for steaks.

I’ve only ever visited the bar area, but it never fails to impress with atmosphere and fare! They have a great happy hour options, where you can enjoy an amazing burger for 8 $ and a wide variety of beer, wine or mixed drinks at discounted prices! The get crowded on random intervals, but it doesn’t take long to get a drink and then a seat even at the busies times. The bartenders are attentive and start to remember you after a few visits. There is a set of couches which are also great to sit and chat with friends! If you haven’t been, then make some time to swing in during happy hour this week :)

Amazing service. They screwed up my steak twice and after that I couldn’t ask for them to bring me another one. They were very apologetic and offered us free sides. Good food but pricy.

This Ruth Chris is much better than the one in Weehawken NJ. Great Prime meat steaks awesome sides, and excellent desserts! I always order the cow boy rib eye steak here and sweet potato casserole is must it’s my favorite! Potato au gratin is also excellent and so is the spinach au gratin. Make sure you leave room for desserts because the don’t disappoint! Favorites are chocolate sin cake, cheesecake, and banana cream pie. This is definitely the best steakhouse in the area!

So this was my second time going to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse for Valentine’s Day, but this time we went to the Princeton location instead. The service here was really nice and genuine, and our waiter took the time to actually explain all the new additions to the menu and make sure we were well acquainted with it. As always, we ordered the cowboy ribeyes, but this time we got the seafood additions to them with my boyfriend getting crab and myself getting scallops. As always, the food was delicious. However, one thing we did get this time was the trio of dipping sauces. Please do yourself a favor and get them! It’s only about $ 6, and the sauces you receive make your steak dinner even more enjoyable especially the black truffle butter. For a chain steakhouse, you really cannot go wrong here. The Princeton location knows what they’re doing and for sure we’ll be coming back.

First let me state the obvious– This is a chain steakhouse. They know how to make a good meal. We were a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals. SO why the low rating ?? I hate to rel-live this night based on the staff and management incompetence at this restaurant but unfortunately we have no choice! Our reservation was for 830 pm and we were seated at 915pm… that is a long time past our reservation. The hostess had no reason why they were so delayed and did not apologize for the delay. When we finally sat down we were seated at one long table in the very back of the restaurant. Right next to us was a large round empty table. So obviously, we asked for the round table, thinking it would be easier to talk to everyone in our party. The hostess said she needed to check and when she returned said that the table was not available. As the evening progressed, that table remained empty for one and half hours! I asked to speak to a manager… thinking there would be some good explanation… he came back to explain to me that the table was booked, but then the party cancelled. Ok, so why weren’t we asked if we wanted to move ? Because a party walked in at 11pm supposedly asked for a round table! I was livid– It was one excuse after the next — its not the hostess’ fault, we should have asked for a round table in our opentable reservation, they were holding the table in case the other party showed etc etc… As I threw up my hands in default– I was thinking maybe just maybe– this management team would think«hmmmmm maybe we should comp them a round of drinks or dessert» We got nothing! So if you want a good chain steakhouse meal this restaurant serves the purpose. However, for over $ 200 per couple, my friends and I will go to another restaurant that at least has some value for their clientele and the smarts to know when they have made an mistake and take the blame for it. As a meeting planner, I am well aware of the value of great customer service and management and this Ruth’s Chris falls short in all areas.

Had an absolutely terrible time here after all the others being great. To start off the night, we arrived about 10 minutes early for an 8:30pm reservation and were told immediately that a booth as we requested would take approximately 15 – 20 extra minutes which was okay in our book. At 8:45pm after waiting patiently, I asked what was going on and was told that a booth was going to open up shortly which we understood because it was a busier than normal night. We were finally sat at 9pm in a booth which was by the front so every time the door opened we got a rush of cold air. Immediately after getting seated, our waiter’s assistant came by asked for our water choice and gave us bread. Our waiter didn’t come to speak to us until about 9:10. My wife ordered the Ruth’s chop salad with shoestring fries as an appetizer with stuffed chicken as her dinner. I ordered the spicy lobster as an appetizer with a cowboy ribeye and broccoli au gratin to share with my wife for dinner. About 5 – 10 minutes later our waiter came back and he told us that the broccoli au gratin was not on the menu but they would find the«time» to make it for us tonight. That put us off because it shouldn’t have been a conversation as they have potatoes au gratin on the menu. As the waiter stated that when the restaurant has over 400 guests it’s not easy for the kitchen to cater to the customers. After about 30 minutes our appetizers came out and my wife’s salad was completely wrong but my lobster was delicious. After my wife put her salad to the side and the waiter walking by 3 – 4 times, he finally brought the right salad which looked a mess as though someone had eaten part of it. It was after this that we asked to speak to the manager. The manager came to us and asked us what was going on, we voiced our concerns to him. He was great listened to our concerns, offered us a new waiter, brought my wife a new salad and that was that. After that, we met our new waitress who was nice but we didn’t really see much for the rest of the night. When our dinners came, they were tasty and cooked to order. Only issue was that our drinks weren’t really filled and the waitress really wasn’t too attentive. After an hour and a half of being seated there at 1030 pm we were itching to get out of there as it was our worst experience there yet, no dessert for us. When we got the check the salad wasn’t comped which is ridiculous, isn’t that good customer service/service recovery? We paid and got the heck out of there. Only thing deserving a star was the food taste. Service was extremely poor, slow and inattentive, huge turn offs when we are so used to such a high level of service. After spending $ 170 on appetizers, one cocktail and two dinner entrees we will never be back here.

The five stars is for the total experience, not just the food, which I’d overall give a four. We went for an early Valentine’s dinner on a Friday night. Immediately, we were treated kindly, respectfully, and attentively. That says a lot to me when two women come in. Our server was Mauricio who was lovely, charming, and again polite and attentive. Wish I remember the name of the guy who worked with him who was equally lovely. I watched the room. Few other server teams worked as well as these guys. Their service absolutely elevated our experience from dinner at a nice steak house to a full service experience. Thanks guys! We shared everything but our steaks. The wine list offers mostly wines from California, which I’m not a fan of. We found a Malbec from Argentina that worked. Our appetizer was the sizzling crab cakes which was ok. Frankly, it needed more seasoning. It was almost all crab with very little breading. There were definitely chunks. If the chunks were bigger it might not need the spice, but without those big, naturally creamy chunks it fell a bit flat albeit satisfying. We shared the creamed spinach and shoe string fries. The creamed spinach also needed a touch of salt. The spinach was definitely tasty. But honestly all we could taste was the cream and butter which wrapped a layer of fat around our mouths. We didn’t finish it. The shoe string fries make a good show in a large paper wrapper placed in a metal cone. They were just as they should be – crispy on the outside and tender, fluffy inside. Very satisfying and a definite indulgence. Both steaks were perfect and the reason people should get prime not choice cuts of meat when going out for dinner, or at home if you can find it and afford it. I had the rib eye and my spouse had the filet, her favorite cut. Both were cooked perfectly to medium rare as ordered. This is why you go to Ruth’s Chris and it was absolutely what we were craving. By the way, DON’T TOUCHTHEPLATES. They are sizzling hot and make sure that the meat you put in your mouth is nice and hot, so be careful of that too. Dessert was ok, but we were also stuffed by then. The tea pot was not filled with hot water — a bit of a mistake in my book. But the camomile tea came in a cloth sachet which I really appreciated. My spouse said the coffee was ok, not great. A few items on the online menu were no longer available — the banana cream pie. So we ordered the chocolate duo. The molten cake was ok. We both really preferred the outer cake to the inside chocolate, which was more like a sauce for the berries on top than a rich complement or counterpart to the crème anglaise all around. The chocolate mouse had too much whipped cream and we used most of it to offset the molten chocolate. It was also a milkier flavor compared to the chocolate cake. Loved the atmosphere of the place very much. The tables were not crowed close together. Also, with only two of us, everything fit on the table top with plenty of room. We could engage in conversations at totally normal volumes. Despite the food issues and the expense, we’ll likely go back for major treat when we want a great steak and don’t want to cook at home.

Dark, elegant, great professional service, romantic. This place is all that, at a price which is high! Came on a weekday night and there weren’t many people in the restaurant which was nice. 1. Cowboy ribeye — Pricey but delicious! Good thickness, less than 1 inch but wasn’t that thin. It was juicy, soft, and very flavorful(I got it medium). 2. Apple crisp — Delicious dessert with ice cream, good enough to split amongst 3 people. 3. Chocolate explosion dessert — Very rich dark chocolate with ice cream as well. Definitely can split among 2 – 3 people. Overall, I’ll recommend this place for a special occasion or on a romantic date if you’re willing to spend. They have a pre-fixe menu as well which is good for the price.

This review is for the bar only, where you can get an excellent cocktail, great service, and a good deal, if you know what to look for. On Wed nights, RC has a happy hour special where you can get a(delicious) cheeseburger w/fries(or salad, or mushrooms) for $ 8. Yup, I said $ 8. Now add a cocktail or beer, and you have a very nice meal for about $ 20 at Ruth’s Chris. The burgers here are fantastic — way, way, way, way beyond anything at Shake(down) Shack, for about the same price. Okay, go ahead and order a $ 50 ala carte steak if your budget or expense account can handle it, but my friends and I love the burgers. The bar here is beautiful, and very comfortable, kind of sort of on the level of the bar at Rat’s. Did I mention the burgers are $ 8 on Wed?

Your basic 2nd grade steakhouse — the Ribeye is not quite as good as the NYC places such as Old Homestead, but it’s pretty good, and cooked to your ordered temperature. The Caesar salad was excellent, appetizers(Ahi Tuna, Crab cakes and Shrimp cocktail) were all good. Wine selection is varied. It was a corporate dinner so all expenses paid — bonus!

Why can’t I give half stars? :/I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars, but rounded it up to 4. I’m usually a huge fan of Ruth Chris and have been to this location quite a few times. However, my last experience brought my original 5 stars down to 3.5 :/I came here about a month ago. Once we were seated, service was very slow. In the past, service has always been efficient, so I’m not sure if it was just a particularly busy night for them(??). When the food finally came, our waitress set down a plate of crab cakes in front of me. They looked delicious… but, I didn’t order crab cakes. If I ate seafood, I would’ve just stuck with them because, by then, I was starving. Our waitress was very apologetic and took the crab cakes back. I had to wait even longer for my meal to come :(Overall, delicious food(although, I’ve had better sides at other Ruth Chris locations).

I’ve attended my fair share of Happy Hours, but the Ruth’s Chris Steak House Happy Hour from 4PM to 7PM is by far the best I have ever been to! I ordered the Crab BLT which was served with Zucchini Fries. Everything on the plate was delicious. The Crab BLT was served on a grilled garlic bread, and stuffed with crab meat. On top of the bed of crab meat was bacon and a delicious sauce. Next to the sandwich was a huge pile of Zucchini Fries– crisped to perfection. The meal was filling, and a steal at only $ 8! During happy hour, Ruth’s Chris also offers discounted drinks. To see if the location near you participates in happy hour, check out their website:

Although their steak is a bit overpriced, Ruth’s Chris is still a great place for great steak. The Princeton location is very well set up, the interior is comfortable and classic, one of the better designed ones I’ve seen. And, the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. Their special«combo» type menu is worth it given it saves on price and provides the dishes you want to try, including appetizers and dessert! Happy hour from 4−7pm on weekdays! Worth it! Cocktails and delicious entrée type apps for $ 9!
