In the past, we have enjoyed this restaurant many times, both for dining in and takeout. Today's takeout was a disappointment.
The tuna sushi was tough. All 6 pieces had several white bands of ? through them. When it doesn't have those bands, it is much more tender - a delight that melts in your mouth - one of the main reasons we eat it. There have been occasional pieces like this in the past, but this time all were relatively tough.
The ginger and 'wasabi' were not fresh. At least a day old. Both were somewhat discolored. The ginger was wilted. The wasabi has a skin on it. This was a real turn-off.
Their Miso soup is pretty tasty, but compared to many others, it contains scant solids (tofu chives, scallions, seaweed.)
The edamame is usually good, but over a few years, they have added less and less crystalline salt. This time there was none. Granted this is a minor offense, but added to the other problems with today's meal it is annoying.
The salmon teriyaki is usually very good. This time it was sweeter than usual. Another disappointment.
We will give it another try in a while, but our enthusiasm for the place has significantly diminished.

Due to our VPN, the above review was ascribed as from Phoenix. We are in the greater Princeton area.

Ive eaten at every sushi place in the area, got takeout from here beats the quality of dining it at any surrounding sushi place, the veggie dumplings were also pretty good

Favorite sushi place in the area. They have an all you can eat menu that is a little pricey but so worth. They are also BYOB

Too bad the service is so lukewarm and impersonal. Such a nice place and good food all go to waste

Tried our mori for the first time last night and was pleasantly surprised. I’m a bit of a skeptic AYCE sushi and was not let down. This place was strikingly similar to masa sushi down the road in Princeton but to my pleasant surprise it was much less crowded. Unfortunately, though, the pace of service did not seem to reflect this, as it was pretty slow and not all that friendly. The sushi itself was good. Again, a strong resemblance to masa in the menu choices. Also happy that the rolls itself weren’t all rice and we were given generous portions of fish. Also a plus that this byo will also heat your sake if you bring it and want it hot. Location is closer to me so obviously that’s a plus. Overall, would definitely recommend if you live in the New Brunswick area and don’t feel like making the hike down to masa and or don’t feel like waiting a while for a table. Will definitely be back.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now. The sushi is really nice, and the meals are good as well. I’ve always ordered a-la-carte and have enjoyed the meal each time. The service is pretty good as well. Good variety and nice atmosphere.

I am very pleased with both the quality of the sushi, as well as the service I received at Mori. I have been there three times now, and have not been disappointed. I got the all you can eat sushi deal each time and love the selection and the freshness. I can tell they take time and care in all the preparation of their food. I will continue to go there at least once a month.

We love the place. Excellent food, selections and quality. The staff is very attentive. Try the spicy seafood soup, cerviche and crazy tuna.

We went in tonight with a group of 7 people. We did the all you can eat special and it was fantastic. Everything was very fresh and the service was prompt and courteous. We will definitely be back.

Average sushi place. We ordered out a couple of times, in both instances the preparation was average. I questioned the freshness of the sushi, salmon specifically both times. The roles were prepared below average by gauge. The establishment itself is in a newer strip mall, and is clean and well decorates inside, nothing overly complex, simple and casual. There are other local sushi places which offer better quality food for very similar prices. While I haven’t done the all you can eat offering they have one… I imagine part of their popularity is this all you can eat offering which you cannot find at other sushi restaurants in the area.

Good quality on sushi even when taking«all you can eat». Sashimi also fine. Restaurant environment is quite nice once it’s brand new furnished. Glad to had this new good option in the region.

Pleasantly shocked: an all you can eat sushi place that also has sashimi, soups, noodles, tempura, dumplings, salads, specialty rolls, green tea ice cream, and green tea included in the price. Unluckily for them, they charge ½ price for children shorter than 55″; our kids eat a lot, as do we. Lunch was $ 18.95/adult, $ 9.50/kids. For lunch, we ate: 2 miso 5 tempura shrimp 1 seaweed salad 2 green barley teas 3 gyoza 1 spicy tuna hand roll 4 salmon sashimi 6 white tuna sashimi 2 squid sashimi 4 red snapper sashimi 2 surf clam sashimi 1 Spanish mackerel 1 mackerel 1 dragon roll 1 Newport roll 1 edamame calamari nuggets? not sure, but they were good 2 green tea ice cream The place is good. I’d like to try some udon next time, as well as the miso eggplant appetizer. If you have boring kids who don’t eat anything real(I pity you, really), they have have chicken nug nugs or fries. I think there are things like chicken katsu – I did pull the menus to take home to eye things for our next lunch. The place is clean. Simple lines, high booths – good, so you never have to see the other people dining. NOTV! WOO! We really liked the place. I felt like we needed to roll out of it since we ate a lot. The service was prompt, servers pleasant and efficient. The table was cleared when we were finished. Warning: they may give you less than you order, ie we initially ordered 2 spicy tuna handrolls and 2 tempura shrimp, they gave us 1 each. So we ordered more food, of course. Some items are only available at dinner time. I’m afraid we might get banned if I go with friends, as we all eat a lot. They also take a little bit of time before letting you order a second time – we know that it takes 18 minutes for your stomach and brain to indicate that you are full, and this technique works to their advantage. There’s a note that you could get charged for wasting food on the all you could eat menu – hey, that’s fair, they don’t want you ordering food to take home and no one needs to simply waste food. The fish is fresh – nothing funky, no weird smells. No extra charge for wasabi, like at Midori, where the manager is obnoxious & rude. The place is good. Not as good as our favourite places in Princeton, NY, Miami, or Chicago, but very good. Honestly, the pieces should be slightly smaller to get a better flavour from each cut, but this is America, where we all eat too much. I think it’s $ 10 more pp for dinner. $ 60, including tax for a family that could eat their weight in sashimi.

Great food, service and ambience. My wife and I ordered off the regular menu. She ordered sushi and my choice was a Bento box. Their sushi was excellent. Nori, fish and rice were just right. My Bento was delicious. It was perfectly prepared and we needed to even take some home. Several things deserve special mention: their service was customer-focused and they tried very hard to please. Sushi, tempura and even the salad were great(dressing was amazing). Definitely will be going back again.

If you’re familiar with Masa sushi in Princeton(on Route 1, near the Home Depot), this is pretty much the same thing(same owner, similar décor and menu). We went for lunch and went with the All-you-can eat deal: It’s not a fabulous value, but it’s okay if you like sushi. The food was excellent though and that’s what counts. The setting is clean and modern, not bad at all. I particularly enjoyed the Mango roll and the Mexican roll(from the special rolls section).

Came here on a Thursday night for dinner with friends and we all got the all you can eat. There are mixed reviews, so I’ll share why I liked Mori Sushi. No wait — it was quiet for a Thursday, but liked that we didn’t have to wait for a table and the food came out quickly. BYOB — I like being able to bring my own bottle of wine; they immediately asked how many wine glasses we needed. Sushi & Sashimi — I didn’t eat any gyoza, katsu, or tofu like the other reviews… the salmon and white tuna sashimi were great & the speciality rolls were good. Overall, compared to other local sushi spots — I got my money’s worth of good sushi & sashimi.

The best all you can eat I’ve ever had. Fresh sushi, great appetizers, terrific service. It’s in a different league from sushi palace. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

Saw this new place in the same mall while I go to my frequent pizza joint(Genteels) and decided to head over for dinner with the fam on a Sat night. Called for 8pm and the guy on the phone said no need to reserved just come so I did. The place is modernly decorated(like Masa 8) good for a date night. When I got there there was about 3 tables(2, 2, and 3) and I thought ok, this place is new so prob nobody knows yet and plus will get great service and food since not busy like Sushi Palace. Well I was right about the food but no so with the service. The waitress/hostess puts us on the corner table by the kitchen and I was thinking this place is empty and why you sitting us by the kitchen? I asked politely if I can move over and the other waiter said no problem. They have 2 menus(ayce or a la carte). I opted for ayce($ 25) since I can try a bit of everything. Now for the food: We ordered shrimp and veggie tempura, chicken katsu, agedashi tofu, and ramen. Food from the kitchen were fast and nicely prepared. Fried stuff were non-greasy and light. As for the ramen, it was ok but don’t expect Rai Rai Ramen quality. Now for the fish, we ordered ceviche, some sushi(yellowtail, tuna, salmon) all were good and fresh. Salmon, white tuna, mackeral, and grouper for sashimi. I didn’t like the grouper(a bit fishy) but the rest were ok. We ordered a bunch of makis and they didn’t disappoint either. I just find the sushi rice was missing some vinegar but this is ayce and can’t expect too much right? Service wise for a deadish Saturday the waiters/waitresses were just huddled by their work station and chatting about. I had to raise my hand to get their attention for water, tea, etc… I could understand if it was packed full but there was 3 tables!!! Guess they would need some more training and pay more attention to the clients. The food selection is not as abundant as Sushi Palace nor is it as noisy but I am glad there’s an alternative for ayce closeby. Oh and it’s BYOB so don’t forget to get your bottle across the street in the Montgomery Shopping Center.

Pretty disappointing. This place gets two stars because the aesthetics are good and the food isn’t terrible. Our first mistake was taking three kids. We ended up spending $ 150, after taxes and tip, for a mediocre meal for a party of five. My 10-year old ate chicken nuggets and fries.(She was only charged ½ price but her brother that is one inch taller was charged full price!) To add insult to injury, they don’t have eel! Don’t waste your time with the All You Can Eat ripoffs, Midori across the street is a better value.
