They took card when I had visited, so I guess they changed their policy. But the food was pretty good, and at a decent price. One can get a whole meal for about $ 8(a wrap with fries). The Baklava is a must try though. It’s quite a big portion they give and one of the best I’ve had!

I’ve been craving falafel for weeks and Zorba’s didn’t disappoint! It was SOO good. Not to mention the chocolate cookie was really tasty too! And the price is fantastic. Going there a lot more from now on.

As another reviewer said, this is a whole in the wall, but don’t overlook it! They have really good food at a reasonable price. For about $ 13, I’d get chicken kabobs, rice, pita and a Greek salad. It was often plenty to take home for a second meal. It was a local favorite for me!

Pros: Settled on Zorba’s for lunch after scouting out other places nearby. We picked this place because it appeared to be cheap yet had potential to be very tasty. The menu was very expansive and the décor was old-school. Come here if you want cheap food with no hassles. Cons: Difficult to seat everyone if you come with a large group. The food was decent, but not terribly exciting. Also cash only.

Oh, Zorba’s. You are so close to my office, yet so very far from delicious. I have been here 4 times. Each time was pretty disappointing. Souvlaki — a very basic greek dish. It was awful. It wasn’t quite disgusting enough to just throw away, but I didn’t enjoy it at ALL. Google a souvlaki recipe — it’s just grilled chicken that’s been marinated with garlic and oregano and a couple of other spices. How can you mess it up? The souvlaki here was dry, utterly flavorless, and unpleasant. It was like eating a chalky energy bar. You know you need the calories, so you choke it down, but you wish you didn’t have to! Falafel — not bad. If you feel you must eat here, and you’re a fan of falafel, get this. It was a decent meal. Not exciting, but moderately tasty. I got this twice. Fried chicken — so very disappointing! I ordered this for dinner and watched them fry it in front of me(pre-cooked and frozen, of course). Took one bite, hey, that’s actually pretty tasty! Second bite… COLD. Just-barely-not-frozen-anymore cold. Seriously, you’re not even making it from scratch, and you don’t know how long to keep it in the fryer? I was the only one in the restaurant and they had plenty of time. Very disappointing. A fast food joint like this should know how long they need to cook their food. What if it had been raw chicken? Gross! French fries were fine. They were a little under-cooked, but fine. This is a real hole-in-the-wall type joint, with a tiny, dingy-looking interior and old-school menu that looks like it hasn’t changed since the 70’s. With that kind of atmosphere, you really hope for some decent food. For the hole-in-the-wall feeling but with decent food, go down the street to Hoagie Haven. Don’t waste time and money at Zorba’s unless you are okay with food that is mediocre-minus.

Okay maybe I came here on a bad day. But this place was also really horrible. Its a step up from Burrito royal aka Burrito king aka NonBurrito. But thats not saying much. I had the gyro(You cant go wrong with a gyro right?) and it was cold… It was the coldest gyro I have ever had it was like winter in my mouth. My gf and the hummus but even the hummus was chunky and chalky. Usually we don’t like to waste food but we didnt think twice to let it go to waste. The service we thought was slow it took 15 mins for our waters to come out –_– We didn’t leave a tip because i felt the service they provided was below my expectations for this place. Go to winberries you will be a lot happier

Oh Zorba’s … this tiny little hole in the wall serves up some of the best gyros around. The pita bread is so soft and fluffy and the tzatziki is delicious. One of the best things to do is a grab a seat outside when the weather is nice and watch Princeton go by. *Cash only*

I like the gyros but the stuffed grape leaves? Not so much. I was curious so I grabbed a small container to nibble on in the car. They were bland, overly tangy, and seemed to be stuffed with plain rice and maybe a hint of olive oil. No pine nuts or onions or olives in sight. Stick to the gyros and sandwiches here.

Zorba’s we haven’t known each other for that long, but I think I’m in love with you. Will you do the honors of being there for my first bypass surgery? I might need it if I continue to stop by all the time. We can’t keep doing this, but it just feels so good. Oh sorry let me get to my review… If you are in the Princeton area and do not wish to spend a lot of money, Zorba’s is a viable option and a good one at that. Tucked away in a small courtyard behind an ice cream shop on Nassau St, you wouldn’t even know it was there if it weren’t for the small white sign that hangs out front. Stepping inside you will find an extensive menu with Mediterranean items such as gyros, souvlaki, falafel, various panini sandwiches and specials of the day. Might I add that Zorba keeps it old school by taping pieces of paper written in marker to the counter to showcase what some of their items are. We opted for a gryo and a falafel sandwich along with eggplant sticks. What are eggplant sticks? Eggplant sticks are delicious. They are fried eggplant that resemble french fries and come accompanied with tzatziki sauce. They were frickin great! We were going to order baklava, which looked delicious, but we were just too full. I wholeheartedly recommend Zorba’s to anyone who has a soft spot for cheap, delicious sandwiches, grease pits, and guys who can barely speak English but will get the job done. P. S. The photo above is NOT Zorba’s!

Wow, my gyro was delicious!!! Service was quick and friendly. Price was a little steep for said gyro, but I’d still go back.

I’ve been going to Zorba’s at least once a week for 12 years and I cannot live without it – very delicious, convenient, inexpensive, friendly. Everything is always consistent, mostly because the quality is a constant since love goes into every preparation. The atmosphere(which is a throw-back sandwich shop from the 70’s) gives me comfort, too, because it never changes. My meal is always served with a smile, and there’s always change coming back b/c the price is nice and low. And I know I’ll get just what I like… gyros, salads, falafels, etc. done to perfection and with heart.

We end up here more often than any other place — the Veggie Sampler calls to us! Hummus is to die-for.

yumm great chicken gyros under $ 5, cheese fries, sandwiches, and tons of other food they have a pretty cheap and fast to go. their cheese steak is huge, they have a decent drink selection, and you can sit outside after you get your food on a nice day on the benches. :)

Just thinking about their falafel gets me drooling. It’s seriously amazing. Don’t be turned off by the fact that this place is smaller than most closets. Let yourself in and go nuts. Prices are also quite low. YUMMY!

The food is great, prices are a little on the steep side for take-out, but altogether I hate this place. They close whenever they feel like. The hours posted in the window mean nothing. I can’t remember the last time I saw them open until 9 p.m. like they say they will be. Tonight I called to make sure they were still open, and was told they were closing in 25 minutes. I ran over, got there in 15. They had already closed up, despite me JUST having called, because«no one was coming in». No «sorry, we’ll turn the grill back on», just«tough luck». There are plenty of other restaurants in Princeton that are open when they say they will be, so those can have my business.

I’ve had to limit how often I go here. If I let myself, I’d eat lunch here every day. It’s good.

Three stars? People have been giving Zorba’s three stars? Zorba’s is THEBEST! Oh my god, in my Jersey days, I ate here three times a week, minimum. Yes, it’s a hole in the wall, and it’s always a bit questionable if they’re going to pass health code from year to year, but the food is sooooo gooooood. I am a huge fan of the hummus and falafel. There is nowhere to sit inside the restaurant itself. Actually, service has to be pretty speedy, because there’s nowhere really even to stand while you wait for your order. However, there are quite a few picnic tables outside, perfect for eating outside on a nice day. The university building next door also has a huge lawn, so you can crash there and have a picnic. And they have a website — and an angelfire website, no less. :) . The directions, according to the website: «Our location take Washington road make right Nassau Street. Beside the Thomas sweet we are.»

If you’re looking for fantastic Greek food, look elsewhere. I ordered their Chicken Gyro and it tasted like the entire thing was made of bread. Where’s the yogurt? Where’re the onions? Where’s the flavor?! Its as if the flavor was no where to be found :(The store front’s kinda cool though… you walk in and it definitely feels like you’ve found yourself a hole in the wall. Felt like I was in an old school 70’s office replete with a low ceiling and grungy ceiling tiles :) I can’t remember if it was cash only but I don’t agree with Janelle’s assertion of the ‘price being always right’ I think if it tasted better, I wouldn’t have minded but I will admit $ 5.50 for a chicken gyro ain’t all that pricey. No indoor seating but there are some nice patio tables immediately outside the restaurant. Be warned though, there’s only about 4 of em and I think they’re shared with the neighboring restaurants. Be prepared to take-out! Pros: It’s a hole in a wall… Cons: that kind of delivers Verdict: Pass if you’re looking for tasty Greek food, you’re better off at Olives

Zorba’s Grill is located on Nassau Street behind Thomas Sweet’s Ice Cream. If you’re not looking for it, you’ll probably pass right by, as its entrance is around the corner. The restaurant itself is tiny and shabby looking, and offers no seating. You can choose from falafel, gyros, kabob sandwiches, souvlaki, hummus, and other Greek specialties, to a typical cheeseburger or cheese steak. It’s definitely not THE best falafel I’ve come across, but it’s average and quite filling. Weather permitting; there are three tables outside to be shared with Thomas Sweet’s guests. CASHONLY — but no worries, there’s an ATM across the street.
