Perfect little diner with amazing food! The wait staff was a little on the slow side but at least pleasant. That’s the only reason they didn’t get 5 stars. Scallion waffles and corn beef hash was perfect(bacon jam?! Hell yeah!!) and if you like spicy bloody mary’s you’ll love theirs. Strongly recommend!

So this is probably one of the best restaurants I have been to in a very informative time between the unique names on the menu like the Benjamin and poutine pizza who would not love clean plate… Service is amazing and the food is fed worth it. Drinks are very creative and amazingly very lost cost. Try the Cuban and my favorite the blt extravaganza with added turkey, strawberry lemonade and ginger lemonade home made I love this place. Best in providence… this is my weekly place to dine and I love it the owners are so lovely and they always are happy, the energy is amazing

The burgers were cooked just right and the service was friendly. I wish the burger buns weren’t so bulky. It took away a lot of the favor from the burger. Most bites were mostly bread and not burger. Loved the skinny french fries. Joe really enjoyed his Peanut butter, bacon, banana burger.

My BLT with avocado, tomato, basil, and mozzarella was super fresh and yummy. The bread was perfectly crusty and fresh too. Love that the fries are the thin kind and the onion strings are awesome sides as well. Service was very friendly. I would go there again!

The restaurant was very nice for ambiance and the food was good, however I ordered pancakes and received waffles. I was very hungry so I said I didn’t want the waitress to get me the pancakes and I ate my one waffle. However the waitress still charged me full price for it and offered nothing to make up for it. I want to say that even though I didn’t make a scene this was bad form, the waitress should have done something to make up for bringing me something I didn’t order. It is wrong that only outspoken ‘bad’ customers get good treatment. I was very disappointed in the service.

great food and cute atmosphere. awesome for Sunday and Saturday brunch. somewhat of a limited menu with interesting breakfast choices ranging from waffles with corned beef hash inside them to bunless breakfast burgers. The food was good, but portion was small. The breakfast burger was $ 15 for a patty with an egg on top. It also took us 1.5+ hours to order and recieve our food. the only reason I’m giving it 4⁄5 stars is atmosphere, staff kindness and the home made strawberry jam. Would definitely go again, but order something different.

My husband and I went here for brunch on Sunday. We got there at the perfect time and missed the large line that was there when we left. We sat upstairs and the service was immediate. We ordered the blueberry donuts and those were really good. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles… he ate the entire thing and even stole some of my yummy fries. I ordered the BLT extravaganza and was surprised to find there was avocado on it when it wasn’t in the description. I took it off no problem at all. I did eat it all of course! The other reason why I gave 4 stars is because we were not told the Internet/credit card system was down so they had to physically write our information down since we didn’t have enough cash. Not ideal but we dealt with it. We would definitely go back though!

Ok… I’ve eaten a lot of sandwiches in my life, and more specifically a lot of Reuben sandwiches. One could even call me Reuben maven. I just had the f’n BEST Reuben ever at Clean Plate! It was my first time there and I was torn between the Pastrami burger and the Reuben.(My lunch partner got the burger and loved it) Do not wait. Do not hesitate. Go to Clean Plate – you will be thrilled!

The coolest thing about this place is that it’s easy to get to. And they have a very small parking lot but I prefer parking on the street and paying the meter. I went on a Saturday morning and expect it more of a wait and more people and got me neither! Lucky for me! The food seems a bit pricey can definitely not worth the price listed. There a classic chicken and waffles was $ 14 and a single waffle with no sides was six dollars. they do have something called strawberry bacon donuts that I found were dry and overcooked, not much flavor at all, Aside from the chocolate drizzled on top. This is definitely not one of my top breakfast spots in Providence. I would probably only return if someone else was paying.

We each had the burger. I feel that we know a good burger when we taste one, and this was a pretty good burger. I guess the big thing for us when eating a burger at a restaurant is the quality of the meat. Toppings are great and all, but we have had burgers that all the toppings in the world could not save. The quality of the meat on this burger is probably one of the best we have had. My fiancé fixates on a burger he had at Nick’s on Broadway about 5 years ago, which they never seem to have on the menu, and even he admitted that it may be up there with this«holy grail of all burgers» from Nick’s. We have planned to return, but have been distracted by all of the trending restaurants in Providence.

It’s so like the DeVille but with the lights all on, no lesbians, and a bad bartender. The Turkish Lamejun was tasty. I wouldn’t make it a habit, but it was not bad. Anyway, when we asked for wine our server, nor our host, could name any bottle in the joint. So obviously not a place for wine. Ok. Our server couldn’t tell us what scotch was available. Ok. Not a place for drinks. The French fries were yummy, although I think they were out of a bag. That’s okay. We didn’t come for fine dining we came for… They’re really nice here. Really.

I love this joint! The folks working here are always super friendly and the lady that is either the manager or owner is lovely and funny. It normally isn’t too busy for lunch, which scares me. This place is way too good to close! Since I work walking distance from here, I like to stop in for a special lunch from time to time. The french fries are some of the best in the city, honestly. They’re super thin and crispy, the traditional frite. The menu is creative, high quality, and delicious. Had some calamari that was so light and crispy. Try their burger or poutine pizza! Super yum.

Came for lunch and ended up eating an early dinner — Food took an hour and the burger was raw, still bleeding! They replaced it with a pastrami and egg salad, and it was the worst pastrami I have ever tasted, pure fat! The only thing good here is a clean plate. At least they can’t screw that up. I offered to pay for my lemonade, and was told«to keep walking» What does that even mean…

Stopped in because I had the free iced coffee food fights and was going to order food to go for lunch. The bartender was friendly but told me they were really busy so it would be a few minutes. Another woman came over after a while and got the iced coffee but served in a regular glass although I was getting take out, didn’t think I would have time to finish it there but I did because the wait from me ordering take out until actually getting take out was 50 min! This time is not acceptable for the lunchtime crowd, I wasn’t even eating it there. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp with chipotle avocado mayo, lettuce on French bread which sounded amazing. When I got this back to work, the take out container they use is a tin with aluminum foil over it so the juice from the cole slaw and the mayo had leaked all over the bag. The fries were shoestring and tasted good but the sandwich was basically a lot of bread, huge pieces of lettuce and 6 pieces of shrimp. The shrimp was very tasty but would have been much better just shrimp with none of the extra as the amount of bread and lettuce took away from the taste. Overall, I was so excited when I saw the menu because everything looked great but the experience was disappointing.

Hit up Clean Plate on Sunday during our trip to the Providence Flea. I had heard good things and there was nothing on the trucks nearby for either of my 2 girls. Very cool vibe and love the colorful food photo close ups. Staff was super friendly and payed great attention to my 2 princesses which they both loved and so did I. Get some delicious lemonades and OJ for drinks while we looked at the menu. They were kind enough to do a plain old cheeseburger(not on the menu) that my 6 year old had her heart set on. She’s not a picky eater but when she decides what she wants for a meal it’s pretty set in stone. Being MY daughter she also ordered a side of corned beef hash. DELICIOUS! My youngest got a grilled cheese with bacon jam. She said it so she got it. She love it and so did I when she kindly shared a bite. Now onto my meal. I asked for a recommendation and the answer was an emphatic«Get the P.B.B.B. Burger!!» That’s the one with Peanut Butter, Bacon, and Bananas. Honestly normally would never order something so strange but the enthusiasm and honesty of out server made up my mind for me. It was killer. Crunchy peanut butter, crisp salty bacon and sweet cooked bananas on a PERFECT medium rare burger. Awesome lunch. Now all of this would easily have me coming back again and again but had I only had a plate of French fries I would still be giving a 5 star review. Best fries idle had in a long time. Skinny, crispy, tender and perfectly seasoned. What an awesome find. Can’t wait to go back and try the chicken and waffles that had me drooling every time they walked by.

Bruch — corn waffle was very dry and needed a drink with each mouthful. There was supposed to be chorizo but only for a few very small pieces and the Portuguese sauce was a pretty bland salsa. My frozen drink only half filled a small wine glass. That being said, the menu looked very creative and interesting. I may try the lunch menu one day, but my brunch experience was not good. Lastly, seating children in the bar area is a great way to ruin any meal.

I returned in the evening for the Big Burger Blowout, and I was impressed. This place gets better every time I come!(Granted, my first time here was their second week in business [something like that], but they’ve gotten into the groove!) Service was great. I know it’s hard to stay motivated as a waitress when you’re giving out free food, but ours was super friendly and helpful when we were deciding between options. The burger was big and wonderful, and I want to come back and try their poutine pizza. I mean… that’s inventive! I do give them kudos on creativity and kindness! I will return again!

My girlfriend and I do enjoy this place, however, they got a few things to work out for sure. The Good: — Friendly Service — Nice Atmosphere(Right next to the water on South Main) — Simple Selection of Food(No giant menus or overly complicated dishes) — Fairly priced(for most of their items) — Solid Food(Most of the time, see«The Bad» for more details) — Interesting options even within the simplicity. The Bad: — Wait Service Chit Chat: Look, I used to work food service, so I’m completely sympathetic to having conversations with your co-workers back and fourth while it’s slow. However, both the Kitchen, Staff, and Management need to learn to turn their volumes down. Last time we were in, it was quiet during the early afternoon, and I could hear full private conversations. — Seasoning & Not Always Getting What You Pay For: The Poutine Pizza is a solid example on both these fronts. A pizza consists of dough, spread thin, that rises when baked, becomes crispy, with sauce and toppings. CP’s interpretation of this is to take an over-sized Pita that is not cut, make some quick grill marks on it, put mostly fries, with little gravy and cheese on it, and call it a pizza. To Boot, it was quite bland and over salted. Interpretation is all well and good, except in the case, which was the case with their Chicken & Waffles as well(see below). — Heavy Salting Hands: No really, this needs to get put into check ASAP with this restaurants BOH. I normally have a pretty high tolerance for it, but not at CP. The last 2 batches of fries I got from this place were so salty, I was struggling to finish them. Even the burger in all it’s huge and juicy glory was over salted. TAKE. IT. EASY. GUYS! — Bones in Food: Last 2 meals here as well, there was loose bones or sharp bones just hanging about in the food, and not in the way you would expect. Back to the Poutine: The Pulled Pork on it had a giant joint bone hidden in it when I took a bite, which I nearly choked and shattered my tooth on. Not cool! Next meal was a Chicken and Waffles had a hidden bone in the boneless battered breast mixed in(How do you screw that one up?! Pay attention more BOH!) — Chicken & Waffles w/Fish & Chips Batter?: Ok, so when I saw this place had C&W, my girlfriend were BEYOND excited, considering our last good round with it was in Texas last Summer. When we got our plates with our deep friend Chicken Breast drizzled in Honey w/a nice Belgium Waffle, we were stoked. Our happiness slowly faded as we realized we had been duped. This may fool people who aren’t as food savvy, but I know the difference between a Flaky Beer Batter Fry and a Seasoned Flour & Egg Fry. This is LAZY execution and nothing more. It was tasteless, bland, and super greasy… it kind of made my GF and I sick to our stomachs after. The Waffle was really nothing special either. — Add On’s & Charges GF& I also added an egg with our C&W that same day, only to find out it was a $ 2 up charge for 1 small Egg. Absolutely inexcusable of a price. — Overall, this will not detour us from coming in here again, but this place has got some growing pains to go through if they want to make it considering that area has really weird foot traffic. As of right now, I would not recommend this place to everyone at this time. For the time and money for many, Wickaden, Hope, & Thayer have much better options for the price, and are only an extra 5 mins away.

My wife and I saw this new place and decided to give it a try for weekend lunch. Overall we thought it was OK. First of all location. It is right on Water St adjacent to Mile and a Quarter, which means parking is a plenty. The décor/design was very cool, a blend of an old refurbished bar with airy space and plenty of light from the large windows. The space upstairs would accommodate large groups. The brunch menu had some interesting options, lots of unique types of waffles and waffle items. My wife and toddlee shared banana chocolate chip pancakes which they liked. I decided to go with their house burger which was a bit of a disappointment — served on a fresh bulky roll, it reminded me of burgers from diners I had had many years ago, with chopped lettuce and tomato. I ordered mine medium and it was definitely pink. The meat was quality — a mix of short ribs and brisket — but overall it tasted a bit bland. If you like shoestring fries you are in luck, they specialize in those. We didn’t order from the bar but I was surprised to not see more local beers on tap. The service was attentive but it was very slow — it took 90 minutes for lunch while it was not very busy. You could chalk that up to opening jitters. Overall, given all the great restaurants in and around Providence, I am not sure we’ll be going back. That being said the menu looked interesting and I bet there are other items I would have liked better, perhaps the bennies I considered.

Went here on a Saturday night when all other places were busy and had waits. Upon getting there wasn’t sure because it was dead. But as they say don’t judge a book by its cover and glad I didn’t. It’s nicely redone inside and decorated very well. It’s warm and inviting and decorated nicely. Clean inside and goes for the restrooms as well. Service was polite and helpful and will make anything or change anything you want on the menu. Just received there liquor license so they didn’t have many beers on stock. The bar was somewhat limited but won’t hold that against them. After all as I said they just got the go-ahead. Food was fresh and tasty cooked just right. As others have said there shoestring fries which I prefer from time to time and reminds me of potato stixs chips. This night I had the meat burger and it was a combination of 3 different meats and found it just the right mix. Cole slaw side was good and I’m not a fan usually but it wasn’t over done with mayo or watery like many do. Overall will be back and try them for brunch and see if the menu has changed. Oh and in case your wondering yes I cleaned my plate lol.
