The best wine selection in Rhode Island. I am sad that it took me so long to connect with this place but happy I did. And… complimentary delivery in the entire state! $ 30 minimum! Gasbarro’s is stuck with me.

Great store! Carries huge variety of wines, specializing in Italian. There is something for every budget. The store looks great with hardwood floors and lots of glass. They have great wine tastings too, with knowledgeable staff who know their wine. Go in and learn about wine from the best!

I obviously love the hill and I love this place. They know their stuff. I never feel preasured into buying something I don’t want. My salesman Peter was pleasant and helpful.

A place that has its own parking on Federal Hill — yes, please!
I find the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. When choosing a wine, they will help you both stay within your price point, but still choose a bottle that will meet the need (or flavor) that you are looking for.
The space is very open with lots of selection options, especially of the Italian varietal. There is a selection of spirits and beer too — but the store is most heavily stocked with wine.
Join the mailing list and receive updates on regular wine tastings, and these tastings often include someone from the vineyard or company that imports the wine.
A family-​owned operation — support your local business owner, as they support the community. (Which I happen to know that this store does support community organizations).

A Californian in Rhode Island looking for a great Pinot — found Gasbarros and had the best service from Peter and the owner himself, Mark. He went above and beyond and furnished us with complimentary tasting wine glasses (wrapped and boxed carefully) as my college daughter did not own any. Found an amazing Pinot Noir (from Sonoma, ha!) and also a bottle of Four Roses bourbon whiskey I’d been searching for to no avail in San Diego County.
Federal Hill is full of delicious restaurants and great shops, but the people who own and work at these establishments are some of the most accommodating people I’ve ever met in my life and I work in the Customer Service world.
Thank you Mark and Peter! You added a layer of awesomeness during my week-​long stay in Rhode Island.

Gasbarro’s Wine Store on Federal Hill in Providence is simply one of the very best Italian wine stores in the country. There is something for everyone at Gasbarros, whether your taste is Californian, French, Spanish, etc; but the Italian Wine Selection is second to none. They are also very trustworthy. When I want to order a lot of wine, I just call Mark with a budget and he selects the wine better than I can. Highly reccomend!

Gasbarro’s has something for both the person like me that is trying to learn more about wine and refine their palate, and the real connoisseur. Mark is always striving to offer a thoughfully chosen and wide-​ranging selection, especially in Italian wines. You’ll find things here that you won’t find anywhere else.
Make sure you stop by for the tastings, which are both frequent and informative.

Gasbarro is a great place to go for a nice bottle of wine for a gift or special occasion. The store is set up with an open table used for weekly wine tastings and events in the front, a specialty wine cellar flanking the side wall (a place I can never imagine having the money to enter), 100s of wine choices stacked on boxes on the floor, traditional aisles of wines and liquor, and a back fridge with craft beers.
What I love about this place is that they have a wine for every occasion. Whether I’m looking to pick something up for a casual night at home, or to get a gift for someone I know that I can find interesting wine options here.
I especially love their 50% off table that houses the end of bin wines at half price. This has allowed me to get a really expensive wine as a gift for an affordable price.
The people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable about their wines, and it’s always a bonus when I end up there on the night of a wine tasting.
I do wish they were open a little later (and they were for a little bit).

We have always loved visiting Gasbarro’s to find some unique wines. We recently had the pleasure of taking part in a «Table for Ten» private tasting event with friends. It was the most amazing tasting I have ever gone to! The wine selection was exquisite, Mark was friendly and beyond knowledgeable and the «nosh» was enough to be called dinner! Kudos all around, can’t wait to do it again.

This is THE place to shop for wine. If Gasbarro’s carries it, it is sure to be an excellent wine, offering items sure to please both novice and expert. The staff is very outgoing and knowledgeable, and will be more than happy to guide you towards an amazing wine (or 3). If you are looking to broaden your vino horizons, it’s a must to start here.
