By far one of my favorite pizza places in Providence. Big selection of pizzas and it’s all delicious. I’ve never had a bad pie there. The only improvement would be the attitude of the people who work there. A «hello» or «hey» or basically any kind of greeting would be great when you walk in. Service is fine but my biggest comment is the lack of enthusiasm and politeness of the staff.

BBQ chicken pizza is great, large slices that are reasonably priced. Wished there was more chicken on it but otherwise, a perfect amount of BBQ sauce, nicely done. It’s a pretty hipster and trendy pizzeria in a great part of the East Side. Highly recommend.

Solid pizza slice joint on Thayer St. Very thin crust, creative toppings, nice cheese. Sauce is pretty good. They take the time to get your slice piping hot in the oven before serving, which I appreciate. Best pizza on Thayer Street and certainly in the city’s top ten. Dining area is cramped and messy, but clean. Staff attitudes range from faux-friendly to indifferent.

This place rocks. My son and I stopped in today and got a couple of slices before heading to the playground. It was my first time, I was a lil overwhelmed with the options(in a good way). If I wasn’t with a 2 year old I probably would have perused longer. I got a white slice and a slice with spinach, ricotta and sausage. There was soo much spinach and it was easy to chew for my son! We both loved it and filled up quick from it! I would love to try something from their vegan menu or one of their sandwiches next time. It wasn’t too heavy and the slices came out super fast. I really liked the vibe and the guys that worked there were totally chill with my adventurous child exploring under the tables along the windows and wandering around the small dining area space up front. Thanks Nice Slice!

The stoners behind the counter forgot about my order and it lit on fire in the oven. Whoever is paying these stooges is getting ripped off. Poor management. Poor service. Poor experience.

The pizza here was delicious– we got half a spinach pie and half buffalo chicken(with meat substitute) — and had no regrets! And the whole wheat crust– YUM! We had ordered our pizza to stay, and were waiting an exceptionally long amount of time for the food, so when we asked the cashier when the food would be ready he realized he had mistakenly given our pie to another customer. He then proceeded to refund us for the pie and make a whole new one on the house! Based on our experience, the customer service was great– and went above what was expected. Highly recommend!

The vegan options are good but honestly spending your money here is not worth experiencing bad customer service. Google easy recipes for making your own pizza at home(lol!)…buy a pizza crust for $ 1 from Trader Joes, pizza sauce and make a cheese from cashews. It beats spending money on bad attitudes. I wouldn’t blame it on the staff being young(because I am), but they don’t have any knowledge of ingredients/nutritional facts, which makes them seem oblivious to people with«special» diets(such as being vegan). When asked about their ingredients/nutritional facts, because I have allergies, I received a dirty look and told that they didn’t know(which is b.s., restaurants carry books with ingredients/nutritional facts!!!) They have also handled money/cards and walked straight to the ovens, to warm up ready made slices of pizza, without washing their hands(or put on gloves!!!). The cashier could’ve easily asked the other coworkers on duty that day to warm up pizza… the ones in the back, that pretended to look occupied. I can be 100% sure that you are not going to witness any washing of the hands…

Hi. They now want $ 6.99 to deliver. Their pizza is still super good but that is way too expensive a surcharge for delivery. Thanks guys but I’m all set. It would be cheaper to order delivery from Fellini’s and they’re more expensive overall! However that’s where I’ll be ordering from now.

Wow! I got a buffalo chicken slice and a margherita slice. They were so delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more. The crust is the best part!

Ah, Nice Slice. Quite possibly the best pizza ever. And i’ve had some good pizza — Regina’s in Boston, Pepes and Modern in New Haven and Johns in NYC. But Nice Slice is amazing. It’s definitely more in the Mellow Mushroom vein, with eclectic toppings and vegan options. But it’s just so well done. I’ve tried four or five specialty pies and all have been phenomenal. Quite possibly my favorite part are the slices. About a half dozen or so different kinds to choose from, and a really good size. And decently priced.

Vegan chicken and meatball S.W. Chipotle pie — thin, crispy, goodness. The cheese didn’t have that fake cheese taste and instead it created a creamy touch to the pie. It looked plain but it tasted very good. I was stuffed but kept eating. The pizza still tasted good when it was cold(so you know this has got to be a good pie). So what is considered good? I judge the crust, the dough, the texture, the taste, the flavor, the combination, the quality, and the consistency through out each slice. I would have been better if they out more toppings but I can’t complain. This was one of the high lights to the road trip. Sanpellegrino clementina drink — taste like orange soda. I never had it and my significant other ordered it so hey, why not! I love that they put a cover over the top to keep the mouth contact part clean.

Ok, I’m going to be nice… I’m going to be nice. NS, the general malaise of your social etiquette really needs to step up to the level of your pie game. Take for instance your Space Junk, which despite its crazy price tag is crazy-good. Perhaps it’s namesake was made possible by way of a lender — you guys are spacey and the customer service amounts to little more than junk. It’s Thayer Street, so there’s really no such thing as grabbing a quick slice here. Weirdo options are available, which is always welcomed. Thanks for the tasty shiz you bake, but no thanks for the agitation caused by an apathetic staff. Whatever, dude.

Normally I don’t really stop in at this joint — I’ve had takeout several times at work for meetings and such. I really enjoy the thin crust with its crispy bottom, yet yummy chew. My favorite slice has been the portobello mushroom and ricotta white pizza. It’s divine! As far as service, it can be hit or miss, but never terrible. I’ve gone at night, when the counter folks can be snarky and apathetic. I pointed out that there were flies on one of the pizzas and he shrugged me off. The last time I visited was during the day and the folks were super attentive and thoughtful. I’d definitely recommend this place as a quick bite on the hill.

The star system doesn’t have enough dynamic to it for this particular review, so I’ll mark it up at a three. As I returned to my quest for a decent thin slice on the East Side — my journey led me to the online menu for this pie-spinnin’ locale. Based on other reviews, I dropped in a delivery order and waited like an eager kid on christmas to stuff my face into a cheese-induced food stroke. Now let’s break it down here *scratches record* THEPIZZA: The pie, the slice, the almighty thin-crusted cheese concoction of my fat night dreams. Hands down a 4 star thin-crust pie. The pieces are huge, the cheese is delicious, and the crust is(dare i repeat) thin! I’m no artisté when it comes to my skinny slices, so I rock the standard pep n’ chéz. I was in love. I WASNOT in love, however, with the ridiculous pricing system. Albeit a large size, the one-size-fits-all pizza is a whopping $ 17 and change after tax for a simple ‘roni. My jaw dropped so low at that pricetag that I might’ve been able to fit the whole pie in for one bite. Slice-by-slice, the price is a reasonable 2 – 3 bucks. Not quite as high on the cheap-to-quality scale as my New York-style, Boston-based, heavenly contradiction known as Pizza Etc.(see my other reviews if you’re ever in Oak Square). THEFOLKS/FOLKSERVICE: And this is where the potentially 4 – 5 star review takes its massive hit to the jugular. This place has lazy entitlement written into the customer service handbook, which is likely written on bio-friendly earth paper from one of the employees’ backyard papyrus garden. They don’t deliver in the rain, because between the 8-someodd people moseying around on staff they can’t muster up an automobile or slap together the slightest bit of work ethic to get a few drops on rain on their bike. So instead, I walked there in the pouring rain to place my order. Fine, I’m not above getting a little rain on me, but apparently that’s too much for the delivery poopdeck on this particularly hip-tastic pizza vessel. After ordering, giving them my name, and signing over a third of my food budget for a pizza, I took a seat at the front window to wait. When my pizza comes out, I hear a voice at the volume and tenacity of a introverted 4 year old muttering«.hey dude at the front… dude at the front.», followed by a series of whistles. Turning around to see what dog he was trying to holler over, I see him point at a pizza box on the counter and mutter«yeah.this is yours dude.» Are you mother-effing joshing me to all hell? In what land of basic customer service did you learn to whistle and ‘bro-up’ at a customer when you clearly have their NAME written right in front of you. I literally laughed on my way out the door. All in all, the pizza is absolutely fantastic and will continue to get my slice-by slice business, because it is the best thin crust I’ve wolfed down since my move to PVD. But I am dumbfounded by the customer service attitude that seems to be not only allowed but encouraged here.

Looking for a good«big slice» NY style greasy thin crust pizza and whenever I «yelped» NY pizza, this place popped up! Located right on Thayer in an unassuming little joint(that doesn’t take AmEx! booo) is such a place with 4 – 5 premade pizzas to be purchased«by the slice.» The best thing though is for you to order to go so you can have a whole pizza to yourself. What? That’s not what normal people do for dinner for one? :P Their pizza is exactly what you would imagine. I struck a star down because you would want this place to be a little more affordable(I mean it’s not Al Forno’s expensive but it is not the cheapest pizza I’ve seen!). I had my usual… sausage pepperoni and hawaiian(no, not together but yes, half and half =) As with all other Thayer establishments, parking on the street and often difficult. Take a side street and if you’re willing to walk a block or two, you’ll find parking without any difficulty.

This cozy little pizza joint is conveniently located on Thayer Street. In addition to more standard fare, Nice Slice also has great vegan & gluten-free options, which is what sent me there. As one would expect, the Hipstometer is off the charts(especially since there is an art house cinema across the street), but everyone was super sweet & understanding of dietary issues. Needless to say, I got my pizza fix here… with a vengeance! I got the Veggie Supreme, which was simple…& simply delicious. The size of the pizza when getting gluten-free crust was the perfect size for a hungry solo diner. Top marks to these guys for having garlic powder & herbs in shakers for the pizza, too. mmmm Would go back in a heartbeat.

Whoa vegan heaven! Only my first time here and I got take out, but I’m so impressed I will definitely be back! It’s hard to find vegan options and I was excite when I saw a whole vegan menu with different proteins and toppings, even vegan sandwiches! I’ve been craving buffalo pizza so I decided to give this place a try. I’ve heard great word of mouth about the place and I was not disappointed by the hype! The crust is thin, light, crunchy, and delicious. Perfect consistency of chewy and crispy. The vegan toppings were quality and diverse, and there is even a vegan ranch dressing! There’s a good selection of «whole food» vegan and vegan substitutes to satisfy any vegan pallet. My partner(who is not vegan) loves his pizza, too, for all you non-vegans who took the time to read my review ;) I will definitely be back in the future. I can’t wait to try all their vegan options. I was only inside long enough to pick up and but I was impressed with the experience. The service was relaxed and friendly, the décor hip, and clean. It’s small, but it’s on Thayer St, where it’s always lovely to be outside. You have to park on the street, which is no big deal for me, but just an FYI. No liquor or table side service, also, but that’s not what Nice Slice is all about. It’s a local pizza joint which primarily sells by the slice, and in all way works to this end. And plus, being on Thayer affords all those other additional services you may desire.
