Probably the best gluten-free bread I’ve ever had underneath one of the most light and perfect poached eggs. I also heard a chef yell«celiac» from the kitchen when they were preparing my order, so I felt like I could trust them not to cross contaminate anything. I wish the place hadn’t been as heavily air-conditioned(it wasn’t that hot outside), but this is a problem in a lot of establishments. Great food.

0 stars!!! It took over 45 min to get a grilled chicken salad and potatoes with gravy. Most people don’t have over an hour to get lunch during the work week. At least have the decency to tell me there’s a long kitchen delay and not pretend that everything is okay. The food is definitely not worth it.

Hands-down my favorite brunch spot in Rhode Island. From the wait staff to the energy in the building to the garnish on the plate, every single detail at Nick’s on Broadway is perfection. I am an impatient brunch-er but gladly wait for a seat whenever we load into Nick’s on a busy Sunday morning. As a vegetarian, there are tons of filling and delicious options. The eggs and polenta is my absolute favorite and go-to. If you’re in PVD, you’ve got to try Nick’s.

Food here is consistently awesome. If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, I would choose the sausage egg and cheese biscuit it is seriously THAT good! Pricey but worth it and be prepared to wait if you’re going for brunch. The only downside is seating is tight. I would recommend trying to go during the week for the best experience.

Had a great dinner here a few weeks ago. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was also great. We made a reservation because we were a party of 7 and got a nice table along the window. We were there for a long time, enjoying appetizers, entrees, and dessert. The oysters were realllly good! I want to go back to check out the brunch menu but you really can’t go wrong here with dinner either. Street parking was also easy to find!

Finally! I set my alarm and woke up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning just somI could try the well-regarded Nick’s brunch. A group of six walked in and was seated immediately #getthereearly Our server was bubbly and super friendly! Pros: –All food is excellently prepared. You can’t get a «bad» dish at Nick’s. –Highly recommend the eggs benedict. The hollandaise sauce and house-made biscuit MADE that dish a slam dunk. Cons: –Service was slow. No wonder they always have a line out the door! –The mugs really bothered me for some reason. Handle was only big enough for one finger and I couldn’t drink my tea without touching the hot part of the mug. Overall, Nick’s was good, but it’s also gotten a lot of hype. I probably wouldn’t wake up at 7:30 again just to pay $ 18 for brunch at Nick’s. But I’m glad I got to try it.

Thanks to Unilocal and a Google search for top brunch spots in providence, we were able to discover this incredible restaurant. It was a Saturday afternoon around 1, and there was no wait but the place was almost packed. I loved the service here. We sat at the bar and were able to see how much fun the workers here had with each other and the level of engagement with their customers! When it comes to ordering, they are very accommodating, making sure to check in with your allergies or any preferences. My only downside was that it took a long time for our three dishes to come out. About 40 minutes. But like I said, they do accommodate to everyone’s preferences so some dishes may take longer to create. I had what is normally called the chicken gravy and biscuit. Theirs was a fancier version with ricotta cheese and mushrooms– it was perfectly flavored and the biscuit, despite the gravy on top, was crispy! My husband ordered the pulled pork Benedict, quite a unique twist to the traditional version. If you like pulled pork you’ll like this. We also had a herb crusted tofu on the side. I loved the texture and crispness, but it could have had more flavor(perhaps more salt). Either way if I ever come back, I will definitely be at nicks!

We moved to providence about a year ago, we finally made it out to nicks and it was amazing! We will definitely be coming back for breakfast, it was a great dinner. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen and it was great to see how they prepped every course as a team, focusing it on until the chief gave the okay to serve. The food tasted so good as if it was an art form, especially after observing the time they took to prepare it. We had the house made meat platter, the New England cheese platter, blackbird pork and oat bread pudding! I can’t wait to come back and enjoy some more of this amazing food?!!

As good as the food may be, the current wait system detracts from the dining experience. Most of the tables are seated for two, or you can nab places that open up at the bar– so I would say that it’s not a bad wait for groups of two. But with a group of five on Saturday, we arrived around 10am and didn’t get seated until 11:30, waited another 30 minutes for our orders. Would only come back on an off-morning in the weekday or if they add a phone/text waiting system to make things more efficient

Nick’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Providence. I’ve been numerous times for both brunch and dinner, and I’ll review them separately below. Beware that the wait times can get intense on weekends(over 2 hours in the summer). I highly recommend going before 10 or after 1 to avoid the rush. You also might wait a little while for your food, though I’ve always found the wait to be well worth it. Some of my favorite meals have included: a waffle with fresh peaches and cinnamon, the polenta(SOGOOD!!! Get the eggs poached! Some of the best poached eggs in Providence!), the veggie hash under eggs, waffles with fresh strawberries, their seasonal vegetarian soup, and their fresh squeezed orange juice. The only thing I got one time that I didn’t love was a frittata with kale, pumpkin, mushrooms, sage, and goat cheese: it was a little bland and well-done for my taste. I also love that they have tofu on their menu. No reservations accepted for brunch. Dinner at Nick’s is just as delicious, though it comes in at a higher price point and you absolutely need reservations. I frequently end up switching around their menu items at dinner to find something I like, like getting veggies over their polenta or beets over more veggies. My fiancé has always loved their fish special(whatever it is that day), and I can’t go without getting their cheese plate(SOGOOD!!) and a side of risotto. Each time I go, I think the portion sizes are about average, but I end up being so stuffed that I can barely get through half my food. Their beer and wine selections are expansive(our waitress has always provided perfect recommendations), and I usually find 1 or 2 fruity/slightly sweet cocktails that I like. If you like more adventurous ingredients, you’ll really enjoy their bar. I’m sure their desserts are fantastic, but I’m always too full to order one! Regardless of the meal, I enjoy the simple ambiance and open kitchen. I strongly prefer the normal tables, but about 2⁄3 of their seating is high tops or at the bar or kitchen. If I go at a time it isn’t busy(rare!), they’re usually happy to sit me wherever I choose. As a vegetarian who likes to eat pretty healthfully, they have tons of delicious menu options(with many ingredients from local farms) and one of my favorite things about Nick’s is this: the menu is a suggestion, but it isn’t their Bible. If you like half of one dish and half of another, feel free to ask them if they can combine the two. My fiancé and I have done this multiple times. The server is always very kind and honest about what they can do, and they never seem to mind. They only seem to want to make us happy! As a slightly picky eater, I sincerely appreciate their flexibility. I’m looking forward to my next trip to Nick’s.

After looking at hundreds of pictures on Unilocal,I had to give Nick’s a try. The restaurant is nice. Looks like a diner. Two bars, and tables. My waitress was nice. The person who helped me with the menu was nice. I ordered a pulled pork eggs Benedict. I got my order quickly. My plate was very wet. The biscuit it was all sitting on was mushy. It could have used a nice crispy grilled English muffin. The pulled pork had no flavor. The bbq sauce was thin, and the eggs were very runny. I put up a pic. I ate it. Probably shouldn’t have. I was mooing half way through! The potatoes were nice. A side was served to me in a tea cup. I had a cup of tea and my bill came to $ 24. Holy shite! Won’t do that again!!! They take their food seriously. You can see them working in the kitchen. I did not have a good meal though, and don’t know if I would return.

Didn’t have a great experience during our first meal at Nick’s. My wife and I met another couple for brunch on a Saturday at 11am. Obviously 11am is a popular time for those who enjoy the meal known as brunch, and we expected that we’d have to at least wait for a few mins. 1hr 15mins later we were seated. My issue is that the hostess was completely rude! We felt judged that we would even consider asking for a table for four. She had zero communication skills. The hardest part for us, the fact that the wait time for parties of two was only 10mins. At least a dozen parties of two were seated, sometimes at a table that could have easily accommodated our group. Very frustrating. Once seated, food took a while to come out. Food was great! I had a fantastic eggs benedict with the house chicken sausage. Overall, you should check this place out! Just try and avoid peak dining times!

Excellent eggs Benedict with chicken sausage. Best brunch hands down. If you love breakfast/brunch, this place is a must. The flavor was delicious and presentation was fantastic. We also shared a French Toast which was moist, thick and perfectly topped with whipped cream. Service was excellent. Great spot for a date or to hang out with friends in Federal Hill.

I’ve been to Nick’s twice now for brunch and both times the food was excellent. The pancakes and homefried potatoes are among some of the best I’ve ever had and the Adult Coffee Milk is delicious if you’re going for a boozy brunch. One thing that I’d recommend is going alone or with one other person or calling ahead if you have a larger group. There’s tons of counter space and 2 person tables, but not as much seating for larger groups so our group of 3 ended up watching a lot of groups of 2 who arrived after us get seated before us just due to space.

5 Star Brunch — 5 Star Dinner I think Nick’s is one of the best Brunch places in New England! Great choices and everything from the bar cocktails, to the noisey atmosphere. Where else can you get hand crafted dishes at normal diner prices? Hence the long line out the door and over an hour wait!(There is nothing on this menu that will disappoint) As for dinner, the wait is no where close to brunch. I have not tried the tasting menu yet but the regular menu is very limited and is seasonal, I suggest you check their website before you go. I went this fall and had the House-made charcuterie plate to start and the Roasted Rhode Island mushrooms + wilted greens for dinner. Everything was delicious. I know charcuterie is this new hipster trend, and the best local restaurants all seem to be in some sort of competition to out do each other… all I can say is, competition is great! I have never been disappointed, and can’t wait to see what each chef comes up with next. What I loved about Nick’s is the attainability, it’s not over priced, it’s not stuck downtown with parking anxiety issues. Farm-to-Table the way it was meant to be! A great restaurant with a wonderful staff, that helps make Providence a dining destination.

Special Benedict with pulled pork + BBQ sauce had the right amount of tang 4. Schartner Farm blueberries, fresh whipped cream + honey over thick sliced vanilla-battered brioche French toast + Different degrees of sweet while preserving each ingredient’s profile
