Get the Great Dame cocktail! It is $ 10 and fabulous! Anything with a Prosecco splash is a win for me.

Had«crispy» calamari, which was soggy and very sour. Lobster with crab was decent and Lamb rack was just ok. Service and cocktails were good. Without the groupon, it would have been a disaster. I would not personally run back there.

Five star all the way. The manager greeted us on our way in which made us feel welcome right away. We had the most excellent Jenna for a server whose twin Julie also works there; both very personable and fun. The menu constantly rotates and I had the chicken Marsala while my cousin had jambalaya special. Both were incredible. Our cocktails were potent and yummy. We finished by splitting a creamy cheesecake with blueberries. If you’re looking for a great restaurant with excellent service and delicious food– you should come here– NOW!

Let me just say that with a Groupon($ 50 for 1 app, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks) and check-in’s, this place is a solid 5-star venue, definitely worth the visit and the price. But, if you do consider the price without the discounts, a solid 4-star, in my opinion. After seeing this restaurant pop up on Groupon almost every day, I finally decided to place a reservation during graduation week and see what the fuss is all about. Vanity is located near Al Forno(that’s right, I’m a RI’der) and once you find a legit parking spot around the corner, I was immediately impressed by the overall décor of the restaurant. It’s a blend of bar, lounge, classy restaurant with wooden walls, large screen TVs, couches and chairs at the dinner table. At first you might be tempted to call it tacky or a fancy version of confused identity, but I thought it worked well. My real surprise was the service. The waitress was incredibly friendly, helpful, and very engaging, but not in a in-your-face attitude. She even brought out bread for us, which I’m quite sure is not the usual affair, and a custom mixed drink that was off the drink menu upon request. Our meal consisted of the little neck, lamb and the duck, and we tried the Russian mule and a Old Fashioned, with a free dessert shot(with check-in). Prior to dinner, the bread slices were served with a fresh pesto sauce that was out of this world, and a great departure from the typical bread and olive oil. The little necks came in a big bowl, and were well paired with the sausages with large bread slices to soak in all that briny sausage goodness. The lamb, even with the $ 10 extra with the Groupon, was… ok. It was gamy and soft, but I wasn’t super impressed. The duck was tender, but slightly too chunky, although the risotto was soooo good, and definitely filling up my stomach as well as my arteries. The final dessert shot was a bailey’s shot with hershey syrup and actually ended the meal well. Overall, I had a great experience, although if I paid for all the dishes at their face value, it may not have been as worthwhile, but with all the discount, you bet I recommend this place whole-heartedly. Food: 4 stars Price: 5 stars(only with Groupon) Ambiance: 3 – 4 stars Service: 5 stars

Wow! Quality of food is amazing! Comments to the chef! Waitress was really cool and laid back. Great service! ONLYTHING(which wasn’t expected) is the fire alarms went off. Onv. No one expected it. But with the 2 other customers they COULDHAVES offered a free drink for the inconvenience… It was our date night out from our 1 ½ year old that comes far n few… So it was special to us.

Never in a million years would I have thought about eating at Vanity. I have been there for drinks but never for food. We went on 2÷12÷15(party of 7). Everyone was very pleased with their food. I had the steak strip with mashed potatoes and asparagus(so did 3 other ppl at our party). The 4 of us asked for the steak cooked differently and they seemed to be able to do this nicely. My niece had the crab stuffed salmon with oven roasted potatoes and asparagus. She loved her meal. Everyone tasted the chicken Marsala and said it was by far the best dish on the table. The risotto paired with the chicken was delicious. My other niece had the seafood risotto. By the looks of her dish, it was a big portion. She also loved her dish. We would definitely return to Vanity.

Went for dinner last night(first time) and everything was outstanding. We were greeted right away by Jenna and seated at a table with very comfortable couches rather than hard chairs. Jenna gave us time to look over the menu and answered our questions regarding the entrees very well. Excellent service all around by Jenna. Thanks so much! One of the owners, Edward came by the table and greeted us and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We assured him that everything was wonderful and let him know what a great job Jenna was doing. We ordered the crispy lobster wontons(a generous serving) which were served with a side of soy sauce with a light cream which was very good. Our entrees consisted of the crab stuffed salmon which was very light and flavorful and the steak. I usually have issues with kitchens grilling my steak medium instead of medium rare. I was very pleased to find my steak was seared perfectly, the asparagus was grilled and seasoned beautifully and the risotto was delicious. Kudos to the kitchen for an excellent job! Vanity is a great place to eat and the cocktails were delicious. I ordered the«Whodini’s Great Escape» and a St Germain Cocktail. Vanity Supper club is a great place for a date or even a night out with friends. We’ll definitely be back.

Great place! Ultra friendly and helpful wait staff, and the owner also came by to check on us. All seemed genuinely interested in making us feel looked after, but service was never intrusive. Ambiance– fun, cool. Tables with chair and couches for a laid back feel. Clean, white linens. No complaints. Drinks– we went with the recommended muddled apple martini and an Italian wine. Both excellent. $ 10 each Food– grilled little necks in white white sauce with hints of bacon and maple. Awesome!!! Entrees– salmon stuffed with crab with perfectly roasted mini Brussels sprouts was fantastic.(This was the only slight ding, salmon slightly undercooked for my liking but perhaps others would like it this way– not off enough for me to ask for extra cooking). The braised short ribs with polenta was my favorite, and I plan to be back for more. Overall highly recommend this place. My wife was also very impressed. We went there with a groupon, but we will be back with or without one.

First visit here for date night with my wife. Atmosphere and décor is really awesome! It has a retro feel and represents the 1920 era. I personally loved it. Atmosphere and Buble playing in the background was great!!! Food was also great! For our entrée’s I had the cornish hen and my wife had a salad. Flavor in my entrée was fantastic. Chef in the kitchen seems to be the real deal! We also had the grilled oysters for our appentizer, that was ok. Now on to the service. Our server was pleasant and did a decent job. My only two issues here was 1.) I requested a pumpkin flavor beer, specifically Shipyard Pumpkin and we also made mention of UFO Pumpkin beer and conversed as to how it is a great beer. Our server stated to me that there was«no pumpkin beer» only Sam Adams Octoberfest. Short time later(as I was wrapping up my meal and ready to leave) I personally witness our server pour a UFO Pumpkin beer into another guest glass. Not quite sure what happened there, possibly a last minute UFO delivery. Lastly, my last issue is that they ran out of lamb at 5:00ish on a Saturday. Not sure how that can happen. I do realize that they had a «private party» but don’t get the relation with one another if any. My wife and I met Edward a co-owner of this establishment while we were there. Seems like a decent guy and I personally appreciated him stopping at our table and checking in with us. I would have love to given it a 5 star but with my two issues mentioned above reflects the 4 star.

I have to say that the location is not the most inviting. I drove around a few times and the sign in the lot stated it was 10 dollars to park. I think this might have been for those who were parking for Whiskey Republic, but I am not sure. There was no one in the lot, so i drove around the corner and walked. I also walked into what i think was an apartment building. The entrance is not clearly marked. When we arrived, we were seated in a booth with a very comfortable couch like bench. It was very comfortable and felt very at home. I had a fabulous steak and a couple of tasty cocktails. I also tasted the risotto which was to die for! The atmosphere inside is very cozy and inviting.

Went here around 8:30 in a Friday night a few weeks ago. The service was excellent, drinks & food were amazing but slightly pricey. Atmosphere was disapointing. The décor made you feel like you were in a jazzy speakeasy from the prohibition Era which would have been cool with out the LED spotlights they had pointed at each table. The music during dinner also sounded like it was playing 90’s hits from someone’s boom box. Could have been a really great experience but it just missed the mark for when we were expecting.

I was introduced to Vanity at a Unilocal event where they sampled their bread pudding and buffalo chicken egg rolls. That was enough to hook me, but to top it off, they gave us a $ 20 gift card to come back. My friend and I went last night to redeem it. Vanity is set-up to have a speakeasy feel to it. The entrance is dressed up a la an old wooden phone booth. A few steps down and you step into a glamorous basement lined with cushy booths and pillows. It was pretty quiet when we arrived so we were seated right away at a corner table so we could both sit in the couches. When I opened my menu, I was disappointed not to see the bread pudding on it. But then I was overjoyed to see the two page drink menu with a lot of signature cocktails all priced at $ 10. I ordered to Full House to start, a coconut/cherry martini drink that was orgasmic and followed it up with an apple drink that was equally Oh-face inducing. Next, for the food. We started with Lobster wontons which were like fancy crab rangoons except they were made with lobster, and they were deep-fried Heaven. Then, since I guess I was in a lobster mood, I ordered the lobster risotto which was creamy, slightly-salted, tender Heaven. I dreamed about it last night and thought about it again several times today like a teenage girl lusting over the football quarterback. The only sad thing about this, was that we ordered from the summer menu, which means, since Vanity offers a local, seasonal menu, my precious lobster risotto will disappear soon. But that can only mean even more delicious things are to come for fall, right? I’m definitely going back. Maybe tonight.

Went last night and had Peter again, he’s awesome. Very attentive, flexible, sociable. I was sad to see the eggplant risotto and maple-glazed pork were no longer on the summer menu, but he assured me that it was a seasonal menu and the eggplant could be ordered upon request. Get the Living Social deal, $ 42 for an app, two entrees, dessert, 2 glasses of champagne. Then, use the Unilocal check-in for a dessert shot. Great deals! Of course, I’ll go back soon!

The rules for a good dinner out are good food, good drink, and good company. I had all three. Vanity surpassed my expectations for dinner. They offered an inviting and immediately welcoming atmosphere. My date I were greeted and taken right over to our reserved table. Our waitress was by moments later to take our drink order. She was easy to talk to, attentive, and efficient. I had the Moscow Mule — — it was perfect. As simple as this drink is, it is quite easy to make poorly. Too much lime, too little vodka, poor choice of ginger beer. It was excellent. If you haven’t had it, you should try it. It’s truly what made America fall in love with vodka. For our appetizer, we shared the calamari a la mama. It was good, a solid calamari. My date remarked that the rings were a bit dry for her, but I didn’t really notice it. I definitely appreciated the lack of heavy batter. That was a plus. For my entrée, I had the chicken marsala. It was brilliant. I am by no means a connoisseur of Italian or Italo-American cuisine, but this marsala was tops. The marsala wine reduction was thick, and it was laid over a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was a beautiful presentation and the flavor profiles were outstanding. I found out that checking in here gets you a dessert shot — it was good. I’m not much for shots, but it was a nice little freebie and a «hey, thanks!» for checking into the establishment. I will absolutely visit again for dinner or drinks. This is a solid addition to the restaurant scene in Providence.

I only knew Vanity as «that one club across from Whiskey» until a rather dapper gentleman suggested it as a dinner option, and I obliged, because I’ve been curious about the can’t-miss-it vermillion telephone booth entrance for quite some time. Once you step in, Vanity has a sexy, speakeasy cellar sort of feel to it, with the best jazz playlist ever(I think I actually stopped the conversation to listen to a trumpet solo) and couches that I really, really struggled not to fall into, particularly after we’d dined. It’s quiet here — I can imagine it’d be a great place to go for a first date, an anniversary dinner, or a drink with a friend. Drinks were refreshing and delicious(That Moscow mule! The Meyer Lansky!). Our server was such a pleasure and really knew her way around the menu. Her sauvignon blanc recommendation was spot-on and the free dessert shot that came with our Unilocal check-in(rumchata and Fireball = adult horchata!) was delicious. What I would really come back for, though, is the food. Although I wasn’t big into our calamari starter(a touch overdone, and I’m always disappointed when a restaurant serves rings, but no tentacles), the salmon was cooked perfectly, drizzled in clarified butter and topped with a big ol’ lump of crabmeat. The asparagus tips were a little crispy for my liking, but still paired well. The whole thing sat on a medley of brown and wild rice, which was initially a little dry and probably would have been a little better for both taste and presentation if it had been thrown into the clarified butter and then plated, but overall, well done. The portions for both of us were enormous, which was always a pleasant surprise, because there’s nothing like ritzy leftovers the next day. Will definitely come back for late night drinks or a date night again.

If it wasn’t for groupon I wouldn’t have known this place existed. We visited on. a Friday night. We were starving and it was busy so we sat at the bar. The atmosphere is really cool. You kinda feel like you got into a time machine. The place is modeled after a speak easy. There’s music and a live singer who sings Sanatraesque songs. The drink menu is large and delicious. I opted for the great dame(pineapple juice, chambord, vodka and prosecco. My hubby ordered the full deck(cherry vodka, pineapple juice, and something else). He thought it was too strong. So I drank it. Then I had two white Sangria. They’re peachy, orangey, yummy. You need this in your life. We tried the Italian egg rolls. It could have been that I was incredibly buzzed but they were incredibly delicious. Hubby ordered chicken marsala and I had the shallot honey chicken. He had food jealousy. His was just okay. I make a ridiculously good marsala(not to toot my own horn). My dish was amazing. Literally melts in your mouth. Kudos to the bartender with the honey allergy for recommending. She had tried it and loved and had a reaction(talk about taking one for the team). She was a peach. Despite the bar being insanely busy, we never had an empty glass. I loved the restaurant and hated the $ 10 parking to go here. Food and drinks amaze balls. Staff is friendly. I’ll be back the next time I get a sitter.

I’d been hearing great things about Vanity and I drive by this place pretty often as I live close by. So, when I saw a Living Social for this place I couldn’t help but give it a whirl. On a Friday night my husband and I were the only couple sitting down for dinner. I wasn’t sure if this was a good or bad thing… but we sat nonetheless. I started out with a libation. Meyer Lansky to be precise. It was pretty good but didn’t really line up with what was described on the menu. There wasn’t much grape to the drink at all but it did have a strong basil flavor. It was good– just not what I expected. To start off we went with the Pierogie Pillows. These were filled with mushroom, brown butter, brussel sprouts, peppered bacon, and sour cream. These were pretty good but VERY rich and a little greasy. Pretty reasonably priced at $ 10. For my dinner I went with the Chicken Marsala. The Chicken was wrapped in prosciutto, placed atop a bed of mashed potatoes with overdone asparagus and had a mushroom marsala demi put all over the top. The mushrooms seemed like they were dehydrated and then reconstituted and had a weird texture. The mushroom marsala demi was really really sweet, like grape jelly sweet. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes which had just the right flavor and texture. I can most definitely say that I will not be ordering this if I go back again. $ 22 for a chicken dish my hopes were much higher for this one. I will say our host/server was really friendly and courteous which was pretty awesome. I didn’t catch his name but he really did do a great job. He checked in just enough, offered suggestions on what we should eat and shared the specials with us all the while juggling the host desk and the other guests who came in after we did. I loved the atmosphere here too.
