Love this place!!! The chopped steak is my favorite. Cheeseburgers are really good too! Wish you all would add mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Staff are always friendly.

The food is good and the service was great. I also loved how friendly the staff was. There isn’t a lot of variety on the menu at all, so that’s disappointing. I also feel that the environment is a little dreary. It’s nice to eat every once in a while.

Been going here since I was a kid so it feels like home. But it’s not my favorite. The food on the bar is usually okay, especially if you’re southern. Not a big fan of the desserts. Soup is good. The salad is the best, absolute best. Country style steak and gravy is my favorite and the baked potatoes are amazing. A little pricey but I eat a lot of food when I go. And service has always been decent. Hit or miss, really.

Maybe I’m so partial to this place because I grow up going here. We don’t go much but I know going in its not a fine steakhouse. But I do love the pinto beans and rolls on the buffet.

Went here for a Christmas dinner with my church and I have to say it was cold, unappetizing and gross. My husband ordered liver and onions came to the table cold waitress told him it was because we had a large group it happens and brought it back nuked not recooked as most restaurants would. I got the chopped steak dinner it was cold also and the baked potato was pitifully sized. The salad bar was a joke and so was the hot bar and dessert bar. You would be better going to McDonald’s or Burger King for what we paid for all 5 of us. If I could give less than 1 star I would. It tastes like everything came out of a can or reheated from frozen. We did not even get a itemized bill to see what we had gotten to make sure we hadn’t been overcharged. I have been in truck stops all over the country and I have had better food than this nasty place. Gordon Ramsey needs to come in and do an overhaul of this place.

I don’t even know where to start. Very unappealing buffet. After a quick taste, quickly exited the premises. At first glance the flavor and the look of the food appears to have arrived in 5 gallon buckets. Avoid this place like the plague.

The steaks are below average– very thin and over cooked. The salad bar was average– good diversity of products, but not great quality. They serve no alcohol. Ambiance is a run down diner. The best part is that it is super cheap. I might have been expecting a lot more from a steak house, but it is Pulaski, VA– so I shouldn’t have.

The food here is generally pretty good, and the salad bar has a decent selection of toppings and dressing. The desserts are hit and miss. My wife’s family likes to eat here, as it’s conveniently located and the prices are pretty good. I’m particularly fond of their tuna steaks and the chicken strips. That said, I have to give the place two stars instead of the three it should have if it were not for the fact that, informally, we all refer to the Steer House as «The House of Diarrhea», and with good reason. The salad bar seems to have something going on with it – if you just eat a little salad you’ll be OK, but if you have a big salad, you won’t make it through the entrée before you find yourself headed to the bathroom. It’s that fast and that predictable. Take it from me, graze lightly at the salad bar, and everything’ll be OK. However, if you ever need a full blown colon cleanse or you are going in for a colorectal exam, there’s no need to do anything more than eat a big salad from the bar at The House of Diarrhea. Within 15 minutes, your guts will be nice and clean…
