Wow! Absolutely the nastiest waitstaff I have ever run into. We stopped in following pizza and SODA at nearby Trackside Tavern(which is awesome). We thought, hey, let’s have a beer and check it out. They were pretty busy and it took a sec to get to us, but that’s ok. The selection was not huge but the beer was cold and good, which was nice. The atmosphere was divey, but clean, lively and pleasant and it smelled like the food might be good. I thought I had found a friendly spot. As I sipped my beer I was watching the heavyset male bartender with a dark beard and hair work making drinks. I was admiring his technique and asked him a couple friendly questions. He dismissed me curtly. I decided to ask for one more after I finished my beer. I asked the bartender«What is the best drink you make?» He leaned over the bar and said, «How about water? Nice cool water. It’s a really good drink» I was shocked and asked why. He indicated that I was severely intoxicated, which I was most definitely not. I told him so and he said, «I call them like I see them.» He then scoffed, rolled his eyes, and said, «I guess you can have a beer.» He poured one, literally slapped it down in front of me so that it sloshed all over and stared at me. My friend and l threw down a few bucks for the beer and walked out. I thoroughly recognize and respect a bartender’s right to POLITELY let intoxicated patrons know they are no longer welcome in in an establishment. I think this is an excellent policy. But rudeness and snide remarks are not. I will not be going again and am spreading the word.

Went today. I usually love this place busy or not but today even though it was busy which I understand causes issues for service. But an acknowledgement would go a long way especially when a group got served their second round and we did not even get a first round. Very disappointed as we have gone many times and willing to wait for service IF we are acknowledged. Too bad as I always felt they were right on top of customer service busy or not! Again that being said a disappointing afternoon… finally left without being served and being totally ignored.

We stopped in after the Black Light Run and had a blast. We were greeted warmly by staff and patrons alike. Ordered a hot and spicy pizza, and some beer. Pizza was amazing! First stop on the bar hop list of puyallup.

WOW what an Awesome Pizza, and great daily specials. I was impressed by the staff, even when it got crazy busy… the staff was still friendly and on top of it. Not sure I want to share this place with everyone?!

Bartender was super nice and made great drinks. We ordered nachos no meat and some tater tots after a 45 min wait we had to cancel. They had not started it yet they seemed really busy in the kitchen. The bartender was totally fine with us cancelling and didn’t make us feel like shit. I hope to come back and give it a better rating. Everyone even the customers are super nice a guy was sitting by himself and offered up his table for our larger group. Great friendly place.

The gentleman bartending was very rude and had a bad attitude from the moment we sat down. The drinks were fine but we ordered a taco pizza with no onions or jalapeños and the bartender and the cook were both making fun of our order in front of the whole bar. The worst part was, the pizza was not cooked all the way and was very doughy but we didn’t say anything because they both seemed irritated. Overall horrible and awkward experience. Would not recommend to others.

Bumpys is for real my jam. However, this night was pretty busy. Busier than usual and I have to say Allysa and Ryan owned the place. No, sorry correction; they made that bar their bitch. There was some blonde lady doing pull tabs while there was a line of like 10 people. Allysa busting out food and Ryan doing the best he could to single, double and triple order while blonde lady would occasionally look up and smile but not take any orders. I stood in line so long I should have ordered two while I was up there. Gotta say though, give these two a raise because without them nobody would have drinks. Peace and love I’ll be back Regaurdless.

Absolutely 5 Stars(for what it is)… Don’t go to Bumpy’s expecting a 5 star meal, a glass of 20 year scotch or a Cosmo. You go here for one reason and one reason only. Good, cheap, drinks. This bar usually has 10 – 15 locals every day of the week and can get pretty packed on the weekends. There’s 2 electronic dart boards, a small covered outdoor area, a good jukebox and a great, friendly staff.

I came in here either at the end of May or the beginning of June this year on a Saturday with my fiancé. We had just got done at the Puyallup farmers market and wanted to grab a beer and play some pull tabs. We occasionally come into Bumpy’s in the evening with friends but hadn’t been there in the day time before. Every experience in the past had been awesome. Cold beer, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Unfortunately, we probably had the worst bar/restaurant experience of our lives that Saturday day. There was a larger woman working as the bartender. Everything started off great. We ordered a beer, and just hung out. Eventually, once she wasn’t as busy, we decided to play a few pull tabs. We probably played $ 50 or so and I didn’t have any more cash. I went to the ATM and pulled out $ 300 as I always do to make sure I always have cash on me.(I’m not that big of a gambler lol) Anyways, I had a few $ 1 winners from my previous pull tab play so I laid those out on the table with another $ 40 to continue playing the same pull tab game. The bartender gal came by, grabbed the $ 1 tickets, my money, and asked us if we wanted another round. We gladly said yes as we didn’t plan on going anywhere soon. The bartender ended up taking a few minutes to get our beers which was totally fine. She eventually brought our beers but no pull tabs. I didn’t say anything because usually bars operate on a priority list of beer first, food second, then pull tabs so I just stayed quiet. About 10 – 15 minutes later, I notice that she really wasn’t doing much behind the bar, as if she had forgot about the pull tabs. I decided to go over to the bar and ask her about my pull tabs. She said she had forgot about them and would be right over. She followed up with a basket of 5 total tickets… which was obviously short. I asked her about the missing $ 40 in tickets and she looked confused and walked back over to the bar. After a few minutes of looking around, it was clear that she didn’t know what she did with my $ 40. She came back over to confirm that I did in fact, leave the money on the table. I assured her that I did, along with my «playback» small winning tickets. After another 5 – 10 minutes, she arrived with my $ 40 in pull tabs. I started by thanking her and assuring her that I did leave the money on the table. I began to explain to her that I owned a local bar about 20 minutes away and I’m obviously not the kind of person to get«free» pull tabs. This is where things went south… Her response was exactly this…“I don’t think you left the damn $ 40 but whatever.” It took me by surprise. Obviously it surprised me because she came right out and basically called me a liar but I was also extremely surprised at how rude and strong she said it. I then pulled my money out of my wallet, including my ATM receipt and showed her that I took out $ 300 and had $ 260 left over. She continued on calling me a liar and didn’t care to see my money or my ATM receipt. At this point, I told her to get my tab and cash me out. I wasn’t going to spend any more of my money at an establishment that claims I’m a liar and also handles it in that way. Thinking it couldn’t get any worse, she began to fight me on it even more. I told her to check the cameras they had in the establishment so it could be proven that I did in fact leave the money and her response, like any bar these days, was that they don’t work. At this point, I couldn’t be more pissed. I sat there in disbelief that we had been treated the way we did. Between our bill and the pull tab play, I was at least $ 75 into the day at Bumpy’s. Was I really going to attempt to scam $ 40? After she brought my bill, I handed her a pull tab winner I had received from the $ 40. She carded me to fill out the winner form and yelled«haha, you own a bar at 25 years old? yeah fucking right…». At this point, the entire bar was paying attention to the situation. I told her to go get my money so we could get the hell out of there. She said«you’ll get your money when the owners arrive tomorrow because I ain’t paying you». At this point, I had to threaten to call the gambling commission before she would pay me the winning money. Once she finally paid me, she made her way to a new table that had recently arrived. There were roughly 6 people at that table and when she arrived, her first comment to them was«hello there, I’m your bitch bartender today because I’ve been dealing with fuckin liars all day». After that, me and my fiancé finally got to leave. She had some choice words for us as we were leaving… in front of the entire bar. It was when we got outside that we got to really stop for a minute and realize how pathetic and ridiculous that situation was. There are a lot of bad people out there. I know first hand, I own and manage a bar and know exactly the types of people that you can get on a daily basis. The fact that we were treated this way blew us away.

I’m so surprised by the reviews with multiple stars I’ve had terrible service here TWOTIMES!!! First my husband and I went in and at the bar there was a paid tab sitting on the table and the bartender refused to let us sit down because they thought the previous customers were on the back porch. 15 minutes later with no customers in sight we sat down anyway and got dirty looks and terrible service for the whole 1 drink we could tolerate while being there. Second time I brought my girlfriend from out of town to the bar after getting all gussied up. We had one drink at the forum(where we should have stayed) and went to bumpys where they refused Us service stating we were too drunk!!! Reading the other reviews I see this happens often to sober customers. The bartender was so rude to us AGAIN!!! It’s honestly as if this establishment doesn’t like money. I will NEVER come here again I can’t believe this place and their ability to make you feel so unimportant. Worst customer service of my life and not once but twice. If u could give zero stars I would.

Bumpy’s is the very best bar in the Sumner/Puyallup area. It’s small, cozy and friendly. The bathrooms are clean and nice, the drinks are poured(very) heavily and the prices are great. Please NEVERGOHERE, because I don’t want you to take my seat. :)

Just went in for a quick breakfast sandwich at the recommendation of a friend. It’s a local hole in the wall dive bar where you’ll have your usual fare of morning drinkers, very friendly staff and patrons. The breakfast sandwich I got was delicious! I was really impressed! Definitely coming back. :)

Pretty cool place for Happy Hour which is what drew me in. I was looking on Unilocal for something near-by and the reviews with 4 or more stars generally catch my eye. I found myself reading some of the tips and reviews for Bumpy’s and said to myself«Self, you’re close-by, why not drive over there.» Low and behold I find myself pulling up on the street outside of this very small store front. It was hard to tell how this place would be from the outside, but I would be lying if I didn’t say it had a ‘bad boy biker feel’ on the exterior which somewhat was intimidating, but truth be told I’m kind of hard to intimidate. I walked through the doors and let my eyes adjust to the environment trying not to look like a scared cat who was just tossed into the bath tub and pulled right back out all wet and looking traumatized, and humiliated. All eyes are on the newbies walking in the door so expect to get the full body scan. Oo It’s narrow inside but went deep in the back. I began the shaky leg walk towards the rear to see if a stool was available at the bar to my left. Nope, so I slowly meandered back towards the front looking at the bar tables on the opposite side for an open spot. *FOUNDONE* There were two ladies sitting across from each other against the wall and looked friendly enough to sit next too. It’s close quarters between tables and you can expect to accidentally get knocked into by the folks behind you and vice versa, but just be friendly about it. I think the guy behind me kind of liked me touching him as I was apologizing with sincerity and a smile for simply leaning back. He said he didn’t mind. *kinky* I asked the ladies at my table what was good to eat there and of course the girls said the best deal is the $ 5 pizza Sunday deal. This confirms my reason for going here. Said all of the pizza choices were good. I would have to place my order at the bar, but before I did that I had to commit to the wait. The bartender lady was really nice, but man o man was she busy. She said ALL the pizzas are $ 5 and another person sitting at the bar suggested the Grumpy Combo, so that’s what I ordered and a Widmer beer which came in a nice little mug delivered by a helper. Our server had just showed up to work so service was improving. Went back to my table to wait. There was a guy sitting with his girlfriend at the table on the other side of me. They had just received their pizza’s. Looked delicious. I don’t know what prompted the guy, but he got up and came to my table and took the previous patrons glasses off and gave it to the bar. He doesn’t work there either. That was impressive. Why didn’t I think of doing that? Maybe his OCD was kicking in. He scored brownie points in my book. I bet his home is clean. lol I’m sure if they had more help my table could have been cleared off, but it was not that dirty. I pulled out my sanitizer gel, grabbed a paper towel and did my thing. I heard this place on Seahawks game days gets so packed, expecially on home game days when the train brings the fans back to the Puyallup station that the line goes outside and down he street because of $ 5 pizza Sunday being a huge draw to hungry fans. My table mates are regulars there and have the schedule down pat and know when to place their order, before the masses arrive. Back to the pizza. It’s about 10 inches and there are many pizza choices to choose from. *REMINDER* ALL the pizza’s are $ 5 not just a couple of selected ones. The crust is so crispy, not thick but not too thin either. It was just right! The tables have paper towels, hot flakes and the parmesan available, so you don’t have to ask for any unless it runs out. So please please PLEASE don’t rate these people on how slow they can get, because any establishment that gets busy on any given day is going to be much slower. The pizza oven only fits 4 pizza’s at a time. Our server mentioned this so just chill and order a beer. They have other happy hours throughout the week every day. I’ll have to try other food in the future and update my review accordingly. Check em out! Not a fan of the bathroom though. Auto paper towels but not auto toilet, water or soap dispenser and you have to touch the door knob to lock, unlock and pull open. Just use the paper towel for all that.

Great place to watch the game after the Puyallup Fair. 3 stars because the TVs are too small but if you get a close enough to them, it’s decent. Also, the staff doesn’t seem too friendly nor excited about life/Seahawks:/ Also? The bathrooms are surprisingly beautiful and comfortable! Weird for a sports bar, but hey! No complaints about that!

I have been here about 4 times now and you figure, a dive bar down south in a small town like Puyallup would be intimidating for a full Asian guy. Yes, I understand the demographics so I am going there and yes, I was the only full Asian person in the entire place. . and have been every time I visited. I am pointing this out because this place is definitely a fun place for everyone! No matter how oddly I dress or how loud I get in this tavern like atmosphere, the people that frequent this place are there to have fun! No lines, no boundaries. In fact, one of the regulars is a Korean/Italian dude which is pretty entertaining and funny just in itself. But the people really make this place a fun friendly place to visit. Also, the staff, atmosphere, and theme just sums up the package of this place to grant an experience out that paints this small town. (I agree about some reviews stating that it is very small for the popularity of the place but, it is a dive bar tavern and there’s already a huge bar with a theme called the loose wheel down the street so, this place has a niche that fills the crevices my heart) Thanks for making me a Fan!
