I love me some good food! It was served hot, and it was HOT! I give the cooks these 5 stars.

Are here once. Steak carnitas was terrible, meat tasted like it was very old, made me gag. My first bite into the rice and beans tasted very strongly like disinfectant. I had three bites and left. I have had great experiences at other mazatlan restaurants, but I will never return to this one

Just bad quality ingredients here. Have been several times since the boss loves the place even though he refers to it as «plate of cheese». Even the chips and salsa are poor quality. I love Mexican food but Mazatlan really needs to clean up their act.

Standard Mexican food. Good enough for being the only Mexican restaurant on Meridian. Not an easy place to park next to on the street. Will need to park on one of the side streets.

Out of all the Mexican restaurants around the Puyallup area you get the best service here. Chips and salsa are average but their main dishes are tasteful, and not any better or worse then most Mexican restaurants. They did update their menus though, a lot more modern. Parking sucks have to park off the street or a half block away in a public parking lot.

Tried this restaurant for the first time as there were a lot of cars in the parking lot, thinking it may be a good indicator of being a good place to eat. If one likes microwave Mexican food, this is the place for you. Service was fast, but not customer oriented. Plates were hot, but the center of my chile relleno was stone cold. Tell tale sign of microwave heating. Will never go back!

Ordered take out, food tasted great except both orders of our enchiladas had NO enchilada sauce at all! Not inside, not on top, nothing. Whats an enchilada without the sauce?

Got sick after eating here :( Service was great, food was horrible. The salsa is sweet & tastes like spaghetti sauce — YUCK!!! We split an order of nachos & it was disgusting. Some stale chips & a lb of cheese. The guacamole was already browning as it arrived at our table. Flavorless & over priced($ 10).

Eh. Pretty bland. If your in the area craving«Americanized» Mexican food this will do the job but I prefer the Bonney Lake location because the food tastes better. Street parking is easy to find.

Good happy hour selections. Boyfriend & I both got drinks & nachos for $ 15 total. I had a Guava Margarita & it was good until the drink melted after 10 minutes. Super slow on a Sunday with even slower service.

Love this place! Downtown Puyallup needed a place like this, and I can proudly say that I’m a regular here :) The service is great and the waiter and waitresses always have a smile on their face waiting to help you. The burritos are massive so I always look forward to getting leftovers the following day. Location is perfect, right by the Sounder Station and all the other little shops that flog Meridean. Overall, I love this place and I will definitely be come back! 5⁄5ALLTHEWAY!!! Totally recommend :)

They have NEWMANAGEMENT! I had been working in the area for a few weeks and I wanted to give this place another visit for a few days now but I was not very pleased the last time around but I visit other Mazatlan’s and have great experiences so I figured it would only be fair to give it another try. I was starving and was really craving a carne asada, walked in and was greeted by a nice lady, sat down and looked at the menu quickly, she came back and brought me chips and salsa which is a staple in any nice Mexican joint. Salsa was good and chips were warm, good. Ordered my plate a couple minutes later and took a sip of my soda. Carne asada comes back and it looks delish, tender and tortillas are warm and soft, so I roll up a few tacos add a bit of rice, beans, pico de gallo and some salsa, mmmm… let the fiesta begin! Rice was on point today and I asked for whole beans can’t go wrong there. Later…after I’m done and just browsing on my tablet I noticed the reviews had not been very good, so I asked the lady and I found out they had gone through a management shuffle of which I was a beneficiary today, good for them. I am glad I gave this place another shot because I will come here to work and enjoy some delicious Mexican dishes in the future. Next time I will try some green enchiladas!

We still come here once a month or so and I’ve always got the small nachos. The order I got tonight was literally ten chips, a bunch of cheese, onions(which I asked for no onions), and the regular sour cream/guacamole. I has trouble finishing the small in the past, this was a joke. There were more chips in our basket they give you. I asked for a replacement and he mentioned I should have got the large. I got a chimichanga instead. They also messed up our margarita. We asked for strawberry and brought us something else. We probably won’t be back for awhile…

The worse service I’ve ever had at a bar. Our food came out cold, we told them about it and they said that’s what we ordered. What? We ordered cold enchiladas? Don’t think so. Understaffed and unprofessional, never again.

Okay Mexican and Margaritas. But the(free) tortilla chips arrived cold, and the salsa warm… and bad. We tried three salsas. The hot salsa was way too spicy for myself and my girlfriend(and we like spicy salsa), while the mild salsa was like warm tomato soup, and the green salsa was warm and tasteless. If they served fresh tortilla chips and fixed their salsa with fresh made ingredients I could maybe recommend this place.

On a Friday night, my boyfriend and I waited 35 minutes for a table. That’s fine, its Friday and never been here before. It was so hard to receive good service when there was such a huge language barrier. The service was inconsistent and it was hard to tell who our server was since it was just various servers coming up to us. It died down soon after we sat down and eventually were one of the couple other tables left. It took a while to get our drinks, my multiple times requested lemon, the food itself and eventually, we got silverware. Then we signed up for the whatever it was on the iPad screen, newsletter? The iPad looking thing advertised a free order of sopapillas in exchange for your email. So as my boyfriend enters his email, I told the waitress as she asked«anything else?» I said clearly(our table was right next to the iPad) «yes, he is(pointing at my boyfriend) signing up for the free sopapillas so if we could please get an order of that.» I had to repeat twice and eventually we got the order. When the bill came, we were charged for it. I disputed and was promptly told by a different waitress that this offer is only valid for the NEXT visit with a coupon received in the email. Uh, thanks for the info that was not provided even on the screen! Thanks for that… Now the food. It was bland. Like it was missing something. Looked no different than any other Mexican restaurant you’d go to, but both our dishes was greatly lacking flavor. And then the bill was $ 30+ for what my boyfriend and I once paid $ 15 at the Mayan and their identical plates tasted a million times better. Why charge so much more for the same exact food all across the board, pretty much, when there are other restaurants charging half the price?! …and we don’t have to experience a language barrier. Seriously. I was born and raised in a different country with English as my second language so I feel I have a right to say please learn to speak the language, at least enough to understand your customers requests. With better and cheaper options out there, we will not return here.

Very clean in downtown Puyallup. Awesome service and great food!!! Authentic Mexican food!!! The other review is wrong! There is a kids menu and service for us was outstanding. If in town again, will come back to this location.
