I’ve had dinner here a few times and have always found the meal to be wonderful and the service exceptional. I recently had a dinner date and requested an intimate table for two. Emma, the hostess that evening, was extremely helpful as my arrival time changed three times(sorry Emma!!). When we finally arrived Emma greeted us with a smile when I introduced myself and our table was immediately ready for us. A beautiful location in the corner of the room where we felt alone while still able to enjoy the restaurants atmosphere and the dining crowd. We enjoyed the piano music, drinks and wine along with our entrees of roast duck for me and marinated beef tenderloin for her. We were both extremely satisfied with our selections. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an experience other than the usual franchise/chain selections. Be sure to make reservations, be nice to the hostess and the servers and they will return your kindness 10 fold.

We have visited A few times over the last few years. Food was nice an hot when arriving at the table. On Dec 302015, we made reservations four four. We arrived and seated in the bar area at a high top table. I was concerned about service as they were really busy, a brief delay in our server arriving. We order drinks, then we ordered. Food came at the perfect time and was piping hot. Staff was great, even know they were busy, the food was great and we will be back again very soon.

Had been meeting there for monthly meetings and always had an enjoyable lunch. Sadly our most recent visit in November will be our last… new menu with a huge increase in prices… not sure what they are trying to make up for. Our group would often get a salad with grilled salmon for a reasonable price, now to add on a piece of salmon it costs $ 12.00, so a ½ side or Caesar with salmon is now over $ 20.00… a Cobb salad for $ 12.00 with NO chicken… that’s an added $ 5.00…I totally understand the need to make a profit and never have any issue with paying good money for good food but really… Copperhead Grille has an amazing Ahi tuna salad that is huge and wonderful and is only $ 13.99…really hate it when restaurants get greedy…

My husband and I went here last night for our anniversary dinner. We have never been there and we just moved to the area in mid September. The staff were great from the hostess to the bartender to our waitress. I had the drink of the week, caramel Appletini which was amazing. We had the crab dip for our appetizer, the dip was better than we imagined. Our entrees were out of the world! The seafood was cooked perfectly and the sauce it was cooked with had just the right of spices and white wine. My husband is not a seafood person and wanted to try something new. He had scallops, shrimp, crab meat and sausage with pasta. He ate just about every bite! I think they have this restaurant working just the right way! We have been telling everyone we talked to today about the restaurant and food. We can’t wait to go back again with our children and have them experience the food! If you never been there before you need to go as soon as you can!

McCoole’s has gone downhill since they changed their menu and attempted to become more of a fine dining establishment. The same quality food now costs significantly more and no longer includes side vegtables as before. The food is still decent but not worth the cost. Bring back the old menu and I will return.

We had gone to McCoole’s over the years, mostly on a Saturday evening, to dine and listen to Rita on piano. We always requested the corner table for 4, so we could hear Rita play, and take our musical requests. In the past we made our reservations through Open Table, where I am a VIP member. Always got the table we wanted. Went this past Saturday, and did not get the table I had reserved, but were seated in the middle of the main dining room. Could not hear or see Rita. Service was poor, with our waitress taking a long time to ask for our drink order, and then a longer time to finally bring our wine. Then another waiting period before taking our dinner order We had not been to McCoole’s for the past few months, and they changed the menu drastically! Our favorites were no longer there. No longer pleased with the menu. The food selections and the service have definitely gone down.

Was really disappointed. Our waitress was incredibly rude. She forgot my boyfriends drink and when we reminded her she actually has the nerve to roll her eyes. Also the entrees arrived 25 minutes after we ordered them and they were both cold. When we mentioned this to our waitress again she was extremely rude. Would never go back.

I’m updating this review because of recent changes! I used to LOVE this place. Not anymore! We won’t be back. For anyone who has been a frequent visitor of this place like I have been, things have changed A LOT… and this is fact… They are giving you less portions, raised prices and you can no longer get a super salad with your meal AND the coupons can no longer be used on the weekend. They are also not on «Open Table» anymore. They also took the prime rib and lobster bisque off the menu! You should’ve stopped messing with a good thing! You know what BUH-BYE! Unless things change, we won’t be back! We’ll be spending our money elsewhere!

The historic charm of this establishment is fascinating. That said, the service needs some work. One of the waitresses greeted her fellow coworkers with«what’s up b*tches?!» The servers spent a lot of time socializing about inappropriate personal matters loud enough for our section of the restaurant to hear. The tenderloin was ok. Cheese and meat plate was disappointing. Probably wouldn’t go back.

We ate outside on the big patio on a perfectly gorgeous August night. I had a house salad that was very, very visually impressive, and hubby had a tomato salad that was also beautifully presented. and both were VERY fresh, substantial and delicious. I would have like more dressing options, but the ranch was fine. We also would have liked warm bread or bread sticks with our salad, or to have been offered bread, but we were not and didn’t ask. It was crowed, but our food arrived quickly. I loved how my broiled seafood combo was delivered in a very hot boat dish. The salmon was moist, the shrimp were a good size, the scallops were tender and full of flavor, but the crab cake needed larger chunks of crabmeat and more texture as it had a consistency close to a ball of mashed potatoes. The rice and string beans that came with it were very good, but although the string beans with red pepper slices flavor was WONDERFUL, they could have been cooked just a bit more to be less raw & more tender. Everything was served hot and, my husband enjoyed his wrap & chips… I just forget what was in it! Our waitress(Laura??) was a lot of fun and had a wonderful sense of humor! We look forward to going back and sitting outside again. That was a big plus for us, providing an ‘on vacation’ kind of of appeal.

Went on a recent Saturday. We ate outside so I cannot rate the inside, but for the brief time we were in there, it looked cute and eclectic. Aside from the traffic noise, it was nice to eat outside. Got a sangria(or two) which was a little on the weak side, but came with a cute flamingo straw. My daughter asked for pink lemonade, which they did not have, but the nice waiter accommodated her by putting a little bit of maraschino cherry juice into regular lemonade, and included two cherries as well. The BLT soup was delicious, as was my seafood wrap. My daughter enjoyed her cheeseburger and my husband enjoyed his Cobb salad with salmon, and really enjoyed his Summit Hill beer. I do see people got pita and hummus with their meals, we did not :(.

Had dinner on a busy Saturday night … The pita and hummus was nice but the fish and chips were only so so… However we were treated to the lovely piano playing of Rita … That makes up for the slow device and average fish …

I decided to go here because i had seen that their wings were on the list of «top 10 best wings in upper bucks county» but i have to say, i was very disappointed in them! I like to think of myself as a foodie. I love eating just as much as cooking. But wings are defintely something that I’ve had alot of from many different places. First off, they served them to me with the sauce on the side. Thats a no no unless specified. Then, the wings themselves tasted weird? They either put some sort of rub on them that didnt belong, just havent changed the oil in awhile, or fried them in the same fryer that they use for fish and such. Couldnt quite figure it out, either way, the taste was a no go. And lastly, the sauce was all spice and no flavor! As if they just used some sort of bottled hot sauce and thats it! Overall, the wings were tolerable and not enjoyable.

Delicious as always. Got the garden salad with scallops this time. It was the most delicious garden salad I’ve ever had(possibly too extreme of a statement, but really, it was a satisfying salad). Not some wimpy garden salad. Delicious sliced red bell pepper, chickpeas, carrots, great greens, etc. I saved some of the hummus from the pita bread/hummus platter and added some of that, too. The apple cider vinegarette was good. Another dish purchased by the table was the eggplant parm. Yum!

Two stars only because of the history of the place. Hopefully it’s was just a bad Saturday afternoon in the dining room because the food gets no stars. Made the mistake of ordering«specialties» without checking Unilocal. The Smoked Fish plate was 66% nasty; shrimp appeared to baby shrimp that had been canned, the salmon filet was so dry from over-smoke that it couldn’t be broken with a fork. Told the waitress when she finally came to our table and she said«you should have told me»…well, ya can’t tell someone that doesn’t come by. My wife tried the seafood salad wrap — gross, seemed like canned tuna and shrimp, which a few tasty shells for added crunch. On a positive, they didn’t overlook my daughters pasta.

Mediocre. Was not blown away. 3 for the ambiance. Went with a group of coworkers. Had an excellent time. They serve hummus and pita bread. I ordered the tomato bisque soup and chicken fried steak with wild rice. It’s normally served with red potatoes. The soup was delicious. The steak was dry and breading was all bread crumbs. I expected more of a battered coating. Tasted bland an unsatisfying for chicken fried steak. For dessert i had there homemade cheesecake. That saved the day. The atmosphere was nice. Smokey when we walked in. Ever nook had its own theme. I absolutely loved the place but the food was just average, in fact, I’d say bland.

Food — The food was nothing to write home about. I had the tomato bisque soup, which was touted as «heart healthy.» Honestly it tasted like canned soup and extremely salty. I liked the hummus and vegetable dip, which came with my entrée. My entrée was the maple glazed salmon and I ordered two sides, mac n cheese and oven roasted carrots. The salmon was moist but I thought the maple glaze was too sweet for the salmon. The mac & cheese was mediocre and honestly reminds me of the mac & cheese at KFC. The carrots were not memorable. For the most part, I simply wasn’t impressed and the drive out here wasn’t worth it. Atmosphere — Definitely a place for locals. The menu reads that the restaurant is a fine dining place for the working man. Most of the people here were dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt. Some of the entrées were priced over $ 20 but they had a good amount of wallet friendly entrees priced between $ 10-$ 15. Service — Not sure if it was because I’m brown or because I wasn’t a local, but the service was terrible. No refills, no taking away plates, like I didn’t exist. Dinner service wasn’t even busy. I mentioned something to the waitress about not feeling welcomed and she did the best she could to make our experience better. I appreciated her efforts.
