Went back in July of 2015 and this place has really, really gone downhill. Nobody there at all. Wife and I were the only customers and I can see why. Seems like new owners and the food just isn’t nearly as good. It had obviously been sitting out for a long, long time. Nothing was fresh at all. We each ate half a plate and just left. To give you perspective, the only thing I dared touch was an egg roll and sweet and sour chicken. We will not be back.

Not the best Chinese food. I will not eat here again. Egg foo young, more like egg foo nun … like nun I have ever had … all egg like a omlet with frozen peas and carrots in it, not a bean sprout to be found. Salt salt salt who took the cao off the shaker. Up side. the little corn muffin cakes were yummy! 1 time was to many for me eating here:(

Unfresh and oily food. Don’t insult Chinese food! One more star just for the good attitude.

The Old China Buffet has a good selection of food and the price is right. The food is not always fresh, and the overall quality of food is not the greatest. Some items are pretty good, but others are terrible and smell bad. About what would be expected from an $ 8 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Service is non-existent. Old China Buffet is marginally better than the Chinese buffet in South Glens Falls only because its higher volume leads to a higher variety of fresh menu items.

Stopped by here after getting a late start from New Jersey on the way to the Adirondacks. Needed some calories before bagging 24000ers as I had skipped breakfast. Entered and was quite surprised that you need to pay first. It was a few cents over 8 $ for Saturday lunch buffet and they took credit card. I was disappointed that drinks were included as I never drink soda… just a good reason to raise the buffer price I suppose and force everyone to cover the soda subsidy. Piled about 2 plates of food and a bowl of soup. It was all mediocre and oily. My favourite dishes were probably the curry chicken special and the chicken with onions and jalapenos. These were unique from most buffets and were quite tasty. Everything else was the usual offering of a few soups, dumplings, pepper steak, chicken w/broccoli, etc. There was virtually no service whatsoever as you had to get your own plates, utensils, drinks, and nothing was removed from the table. Suppose the tip was also included in the price you pay when you first come in. Should have probably gone to Moe’s in the same shopping center, but figured this would have been quicker.

I love a solid, horribly unhealthy Chinese buffet for lunch every once in a while. It turns out that yesterday was every once in a while. We wanted something near PetCo and fast, seeing as we were grabbing a meal before heading back to the pound to pick up our new family members. While it fit the time constraint and location requirements, the buffet was not the best I’ve been to(and please keep in mind that this is a relative comparison that functions on a Chinese buffet scale). I think the«Old» refers to how long the food has been sitting out there. Granted, we weren’t there at the lunch rush and that’s usually when the best time for the buffet is. Furthermore, there were no dumplings. How can you not have dumplings? Anyways… I would not recommend.

Not sure what some of the other Unilocalers were complaining about, but this place was pretty good. Definitely one of the better chinese buffets I’ve been to. Vast food selection for a pretty cheap price(even the drinks are included!). Everything was pretty tasty including the pepper steak, chicken w/broccoli, and fried chicken wings. Felt the place was fairly clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. My stomach felt completely fine and normal after I ate, so again, not sure what some of the other Unilocalers are referring to. Americanized chinese food tends to be on the heavier side so if your stomach can’t handle that, then you should not bother eating at chinese buffets at all. I would recommend coming here if you’re looking for a local chinese buffet with a lot of variety and multiple offerings at a cheap price. But if you’re looking for a high end buffet that serves lobster and steak, I would look elsewhere.

Eh. Used to like this place when I was a kid and didn’t know better. Now I stay away. Sure the food is decent and the prices are good but your stomach will be pissed at you afterwards. Unless you want a massive stomachache I recommend going somewhere else.

I can’t speak to lunch, though I believe they do have fried shrimp during those hours. The Chinese food here is average or below average, making it a decent value for a $ 9 dinner buffet, especially with drink and dessert included. Standard Chinese dishes are hit and miss. General Tso is mediocre. Pepper steak is good, as is the sweet and sour chicken/shrimp. Fried rice is blah. Boneless ribs are great… meaty and tender. The soft serve is all that’s good for dessert… the cakes are pretty terrible. What makes it a 4-star experience is the fact that, at that price, you also get snow crab legs, mussels and peel-and-eat shrimp. The crab sits out in the steam tray so the shells don’t break like they should but they are delicious. Ask for crackers and be prepared to do some work on them.

Old China Buffet is a restaurant that you can definitely skip. The food here is below average and doesn’t even compare regular Chinese take-out places. The food selection is small compared to other Chinese Buffets. I don’t think I spotted a seafood dish in this establishment. My stomach did not sit well with their food. The restaurant overall, was not clean. There were messes on the floors and the tables were sticky. The seats had brown stains on them. The bathrooms are terrible and don’t look like they have been cleaned in days. The lighting was very dark, which made the atmosphere in the restaurant even more depressing. There was only one redeeming quality for this buffet. The price for lunch at this all-you-can-eat buffet is $ 8 per person. That’s pretty cheap compared to other buffets during lunch. I suggest not going to dinner(which is $ 13 for person), or not going at all.
