Run, don’t walk, away from this place post haste. I stayed here the night before my Ironman 70.3 Racine experience. Hotel rooms were limited and expensive, so I took what I could get. First, the whole place reeked of smoke. Second, there are clearly people living here full time. Third, the linens looked like they were original to the location, which is at least 30 years old. Something in our bathroom was leaking from the ceiling into the toilet, and I’ve never seen a bar of soap so small or shampoo in ketchup-packet style packaging. It’s a good thing we just slept and got out of there for the race, because the amenities were seriously lacking. The«pool» was empty except for a scummy, black puddle at the bottom, and the courtyard our room opened up to frightened me because from it, you could clearly see into all the rooms and everyone’s living conditions. The fact that they jacked up the price to the equivalent of a week’s rent for a room was insane and opportunistic, but it worked. This was way too expensive for what it was.
