I enjoyed the music but unfortunately the bartending service was completely subpar. I understand the«bar scene» could be chaotic for a bartender but that gives no right for a bartender to disrespect a customer just because he is frustrated and for that reason I rate this bar/club 1 star.

I have to say that I really like this place. I have been to Alchemy 4 times and had lots of fun every single time. I love the music and the atmosphere it’s awesome! I always stay there until they close… Can’t wait to go again!(The female bartenders are very beautiful and extremely nice)

velvet rope and pseudo paparazzi photographers and a Lamborghini parked in the front… where am I and what is this place trying to be? Kind of overdone, but it was nice to sit in the front on a cushioned lounge area and enjoy the more club type of EDM/dance music and maybe pretend I’m not in Raleigh for a brief second. The indoor dance area wasn’t exactly classy… I know what they were going for with the lighting and smoke but it didn’t really deliver in a good way. Maybe a place to stop but I definitely couldn’t spend a full night here personally. I will say, though… the staff were all very friendly.

Alchemy is a big upgrade from the former«606». They definitely classed up the dance club a bit with a nice Miami-esque patio complete with palm trees and comfortable couches. Inside, you’ll be welcomed by a lot of neon lighting and EDM. When the beat drops, the fog machines and strobes fill the dance floor. Drink options are actually good, and I’m glad they have beer beyond Bud/Miller Lite. Rules for entry are pretty relaxed. I’ve seen them let in people wearing flip-flops and I think the only real rule is that they don’t allow baseball hats. If you do show up with a hat, all you have to do is carry it around or stuff it in a pocket. Overall, it’s a pretty similar experience to Eden(a club on the other side of the Glenwood South), but definitely a step up. I think Alchemy is here to stay, though I’m sure it’ll go through a name change or two.

A resounding eh. Definitely a cool atmosphere from the outside. They try to portray an edgy Miami lounge atmosphere which is apparent in the style. Once you get in its definitely not the case. Unfortunately the security staff was kind of obnoxious and pushy. «No hats» rule aimed at folks in baseball caps in our group but everyone else in the group with flat caps etc were allowed, including their staff wearing baseball caps. Very strange rule, especially for a new place that can’t afford to push people away. Best part was the entertainer. Probably the only reason we stayed as long as we did was the guy doing balloon tricks, Steve. These two stars are just for him! You are awesome dude! Probably won’t go back.

A very weird set up. There’s a nice covered patio outside but inside there was sooo much black light and fog. It really looked like a middle school gym for a bizarre 90’s themed dance… that no one voted for.

New favorite club in downtown Raleigh. Good music, a nice crowd, and lovely atmosphere. There isn’t a minimum to use your cards here, so if you don’t have cash on you this is a good place to go. The bartenders are prompt at getting your drinks ready and they’re very friendly.

Didn’t know what to expect. If a jersey shore fist pump nation scene is your thing then you might enjoy yourself here. They hand out big foam glow sticks, which I like. That’s a fun touch. Smoke machine is going to add effect. The music is more techno and electronic. To enjoy yourself, you have to go earlier, not later. The crowd and management are so rude.

A friend recommended this place because they thought it would appease my friends from Maryland and Chicago. Pros: it was easy to get a drink, drinks were reasonably priced, the bouncers were welcoming, the layout was spacious, you could walk around without bumping into someone, the music was good Cons: «some» of the patrons were disrespectful and rude(inappropriately touched several of my female friends throughout the course of the night), when we addressed these guys they became combative Fortunately a bouncer did come to our rescue but by that time we were so disgusted we left. I think this place has so much potential but there are too many guys that can’t control their hands when they drink.

I’ve only been to this place once so far but I was really impressed. I love the white couches outside(brave and risky haha) and all the chandeliers and strobe lights. The drink prices were very good too and the place gets packed. The bartenders were attentive and this place kind of reminds me of Vegas which is NOT a bad thing. :D

something about the blue lights and stripper poles makes me want to go here again and again! If you’re into 8 inch stilettos, and spandex shorts dancing on poles then this is the place for you. I probably could’ve had a seizure in this place for how horrible the music is, and how many strobe lights there are. I think it’s to distract people from how disgusting the place actually is. The only good thing about this place is that it’s across the street from mellow mushroom, and 2 steps from Mojos. The water might be free, but so are the stds!

Alchemy is the greatest place I’ve been to in the triangle. The place gets more packed around 12, and there’s no cover charge. The overall atmosphere is nice and there was good EDM playing. Drinks are pricey but bottled water is free. Staff were quick to clean up the dance floor whenever there were broken bottles/glass on the floor. The only problem is the floor gets slippery from the spilt drinks. I felt a bit overdressed since it seems like there’s really no dress code. most people had sandals on.

I went to Alchemy for the first time last night. The place is where 606 used to be. The music was great and the outdoor bar was awesome. They played a lot of EDM music which I loved as a lot of the other bars in the area only play top 40 music. I think this place is going to do really well. The place got packed around 11:30. Def check it out.
