Sub par service along with disappointing food… The food was bland and the selection was tiny… It’s seat yourself which is great in theory but takes forever for a server to notice you. Took forever to get through the meal because anytime we ordered something or needed something it took her forever to finally make it back, and the resturant was only half full with 4 servers… The food was way over priced for what is was… We won’t be returning…

Not sure why the reviews are on the low side, we had a good experience. We came for dinner and drinks and both were good! It’s pretty standard bar food, but they specialize in martinis. I see this as a great place to stop in for drinks.

I visited Bar Louie with four friends on a Friday night. The place had a good amount of folks inside, but we were able to land a low table beside the window. Our server, Keosha(sp?), was attentive the entire night and answered all our questions regarding the menu, including giving recommendations on drinks. I had the Pom Peche based on her recommendation and it was delicious! My friends ordered a margarita, the Honeydew, strawberry lemonade sangria, and the Bellini and no one had any complaints. I ordered the BLTT to eat and the only thing I would’ve added was more mayo, but I just like mayonnaise. The sandwich was good, as were the tots. The $ 10.50 price tag could be hard to swallow for a sandwich, but I knew what to expect from previous reviewers. Based off this experience I would go back. I liked the layout of the place and it seems to be a great location to go out and have a drink after a long week.

Malorie gets the place extra stars for friendly service, it’s a bar basically that serves food, not bad at all.$$ priced like normal bars in the area, waitresses seem helpful and knowledge of menu was good!!! Live music was starting but we had to jet, will check out more items soon.

There’s two things to do at Bar Louie: come here for dinner, or come here to drink. The 2 stars averages them out, with one star for dinner, and four for drinks. I’ve tried to like this place for food, but it just doesn’t happen. No hostess so you seat yourself and every times it’s been an obnoxious wait until someone notices you. Food is overpriced and under delivers. I just paid $ 14 for a chicken sandwich and a Coke, before tip. Tried dinner here three times and it’s a fail every time. Now, I’ve also been to Bar Louie with friends to hang out and what not. The drinks are good and the beer tastes like beer. However, don’t come here to watch any type of sporting event. Tried to watch a game one time, they finally turned the tv, then the manager came over and changed all the tvs and screwed up the four tables that were watching it. The waiter literally told me «well we really aren’t that great of a sports bar.» Ok thanks, I can tell. So come here if you’re out with friends and want drinks, but eat somewhere else first, or avoid here if you want a good dinner.

The drink called DIVA and the atmosphere was the best thing going for this place. The appetizers and main dishes… not so much. Even the bar tender wasn’t very educated on the menu.

The food is mediocre and pretty typical bar food. They do have good tater tots smothered in cheese sauce. The menu is huge, but the quality of the food is lacking. We had moldy fruit in our sangria and dirty silverware in one of the place settings. The meatball appetizer is pretty tasty. I don’t think I’d mind going back for a drink or appetizers if I had a bunch of friends insisting on going here, but I think I’ll avoid it otherwise. Our server was pretty lax but did get us what we needed.

Bar Louie is one of those places that I can say that I have tried but I will not return. Mom & I walked in, there was no hostess stand or sign that said please seat yourself so we were a bit confused until someone told us. We grabbed a table right in front of a TV to watch the Panthers defeat the Redskins, 10 – 0! Dislike, instead of playing the audio of the game, they kept playing music. You are a «bar» that plays football on a Sunday, nobody wants to listen to music while this is going on. Answer: blame Corporate. It was also freezing, I am not sure how the waitresses were surviving since they were dressed like it was summertime and I was in my winter jacket. Beer special today: 20oz for the price of a 16oz so we ordered Shotgun Betty. Got the check and I was floored, the beers were $ 6.85 each! So, you are telling me a 16oz beer is that expensive?! Mom & I decided to split an appetizer, entrée and dessert since we were not starving and this was definitely enough food to fill both of us up. Appetizer: Meatballs Al Forno, these were good but were not shaped like meatballs and just fell apart once you picked one up. Entrée: Blackened Salmon Sliders with Fries, this was okay but I would not order it again. Dessert: Key Lime ‘Shiner was good, I would be ashamed to serve a strawberry on the side like they did. It was definitely a few days old and was starting to shrivel up, personally I would only want to serve fresh items. I did enjoy the key lime with the cake but for the price point, I would opt for no dessert(Mom really wanted to try this though). Overall, overpriced. FYI, Join the mobile club to get a free appetizer, make sure you do this a day before going because the coupon will not send for 24 hours.

I’m surprised how packed this place was on a Thursday night. Everything about out experience was mediocre. Drinks were watered down as others have said, my flatbread had way too much sauce on it, and my fiancés burger was way overlooked. Ambiance was nice but that was about it. Not terrible, but probably not good enough to come back.

Ive stopped by a few times and have had okay experiences. The best part is definitely the anviance and convenience to my home. The drinks are pretty good and interesting but they’re watered down. The food has been a hit with everything we’ve ordered, although they were out of something or another everything we went. We’ve had a few different sliders, calamari and tempura shrimp which is excellent. The service is very mediocre. Out of the 3 times we’ve been, we never found a hostess at the door twice and just grabbed a table on our own. The food is pretty slow and so are the drinks but we assumed it was because of happy hour busyness. We’ve had a couple of waiters forget drinks and water requests. What keeps us coming back is the lack of decent bars in our neighborhood. I’m hoping the service gets better the longer they’re open. And if they really wanted better reviews… they’d make stronger drinks. ;)

My husband and I tested this place out on Halloween after shopping and found it to be awful. The servers were dressed up for the holiday which was awesome. However our server had on a kilted skirt and every time she bent over her butt cheeks fell out. So not only were we discussed by the food but the view was just gross. Where was the manager… smh I really wanted to try the salmon sliders which was the only thing on the menu that looked appealing but our sever informed us when we ordered that it was not available along with several other items. I settled for the chicken club. The club was dry and bread drenched in butter. We also ordered a few cocktails which weren’t too bad. Also our glass of water request never made it to the table. I think the only thing going for this place are the decorative aspects to draw you in. The bar is the main attraction and they clearly should not be in the food business. Definitely won’t be back.

Ever wonder about Mac and cheese? What constitutes a good one versus a bad one? I think the nuances could be only millimeters apart or miles. In this case there was a noticeable difference… cheese. Take Curley macaroni add some shredded cheese that was dried out two days ago, drive it very slowly by some Kraft Mac and cheese sauce, rinse off any residue and you get the Mac and cheese at this travesty against food. So rarely does bad service and bad food intersect so perfectly as to make you crave boxed Kraft dinner. Mine came with some dried out pop corn chicken pieces better left in the kitchen. The«boneless wings» are the same dried out chicken kibble. Just plain disappointing! I am sure the sandwiches are better. The ones I saw looked good. The beer is kinda warm, too.

This Bar Louie is as good or even a little better than other Bar Louies I’ve been to. Been here a few times already since it opened and everything’s been great, from the burgers to tater tots, to ahi tuna sandwich, to the appetizers. The bruschetta is awesome, with a lot of veggies to pile on top of the crusty, cheesy bread, and it comes in a big margarita glass which is neat. It is loud inside, but that seems to be at all of their locations, you just need to talk loud and listen carefully :). Always a good choice for drinks, live music, happy hour, and good burgers and sandwiches.

We have been here 45 minutes. There are 35 patrons here. I just counted. We are still waiting on our meal. Our servers cannot agree if the wait is due to a mix up, or because the food is being plated. I believe neither. As I was typing this, our food arrived. My burger is still raw. Had to get ketchup from the bar, as our server forgot to bring it back after we asked for it. The GM was very understanding, but it was fairly obvious he gets called in to help on a regular basis. Our server volunteered to get him before we asked. This place should be making a killing in this location, especially at lunch in a mixed residential/professional area.

I’m only giving them 3 stars because the food was good. The service deserved 1.5. We went on a Tuesday night and the turnaround time on food was terribly sloowwww. We placed our orders at 6:40ish. Around 7:05 we asked the waiter how much longer it would be before we received our orders and he told us it would probably be another 20 – 25 minutes. We were planning on catching a movie around 7:30, so we had to leave. A 45 minute turnaround on quesadillas and burger/fries orders is crazy. Granted they do have specials on Tuesdays(½ off apps and $ 5 burgers) so I’m sure they were busy, but they should be well prepared in the kitchen with enough staff and resources to lessen the wait time. IF I go back, I’ll be sure to get there super early in hopes of avoiding long food turn around times.

I went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. It was nice. All the TVs had a football game on them. They have a great beer selection. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was nice and juicy and the sauce was tangy. I had a burger that came with blue cheese and mushrooms. It was delicious. Our only complaint was mutual. The fact that the side of fries/tots was pretty small. Other than that the atmosphere was nice and the service was good. I think that we will be returning.

Not going to lie, the previous Unilocal reviews really scared me and made me not want to even try out this place… Yet I did thanks to their Tuesday night special with $ 5 burgers(including your choice of tots or fries) and my friend and I could just not pass up that deal! And I’m honestly glad I ignored the reviews because I had a good time and enjoyed the food! For anyone planning to venture out for their Tuesday night special, be prepared to wait! OR be prepared to poach seats at the bar as its first come, first serve. Thankfully we didn’t have to wait too long(estimated wait time was 45min but we were seated in maybe 20?). I will say it can be frustrating to wait because they did not utilize all of their tables and seats. I’m sure they were short staffed or not expecting it to be busy but hopefully they’ll learn from this as I saw several groups of people just leave as they didn’t want to wait so long. Once we were seated I was expecting crappy service as it was packed but that wasn’t the case. Now, our server wasn’t amazing or anything but did her job just right: our waters were always refilled when they were almost empty, she checked in about our drinks and brought out our food when it was ready. I really have no complaints with their staff at all. And also want to note that the host was very friendly and really went out of her way to get us seated when a table was available. I also stopped by for drinks one night and they have a live band on Thursday nights which can be fun but the band is VERY loud! Just an FYI! Otherwise, I’m pretty happy with Bar Louie and will definitely visit more often given the convenient location and great specials! Helpful note: Sign up for their mobile club for a free appetizer! And they have great happy hour specials on food!

I read that bar Louie was coming here on WRAL’s website. My husband suggested that we go there for his birthday. We read the reviews on Unilocal, but decided to try it out for ourselves. We ordered the fried calamari and it was disgusting. It was rubbery and cold. It was also very deceiving. The container it came in was half lettuce. My husband and I both ordered burgers and the burger patties tasted like frozen patties that I would buy at the grocery store. The french fries tasted like french fries from McDonald’s and the tater tots tasted like they were also frozen from the grocery store. My husband ordered an old fashioned for his birthday. He said it was the only thing that he enjoyed about his birthday meal. We will not be going back here. We were really disappointed.

Bar Louie has opened this week at Brier Creek and they sure know how to make us all glad they are here… with $ 2 Martinis and FREE apps(1 per person) this week! And they are not skimping either. These are full apps and quality martinis. We can attest, as we stopped in this Saturday afternoon. The place was sure hopping… every bar stool full, and almost every table.(by the time we left, the line was out the door) We only had to wait a few minutes though for a 4-seat-high-top to open near the bar. Behind our table they had the door open, so we had a nice breeze despite it being pretty hot out. Service was fun, friendly, efficient and professional. We loved our gal! Also had friendly dealings with a Manager whose passion for what they are doing was totally contagious, and showed in the staff!(both the new and the ones they flew in from other locations to help make this opening so efficient.) We had a nice list of great-sounding martinis to choose from. Husband started with The Clover: Makers Mark, Hennessy, agave nectar, lemon and orange juices, and orange twist. He liked it and it went down quickly for him, so for his second $ 2 Martini, he went a lot less sweet with The Dirty: Effen Vodka, olive juice & blue cheese olives. I say to each his own, and he said it was really good! Meanwhile, I was enjoying a couple Sparklin’ Rubys: Deep Eddy Ruby Red, St-Germain, La Marca Prosecco & fresh lemon juice. YUM! And not too sweet. They had other sweeter sounding ones like Louie’s Cosmo, S’mores & Strawberry Bellini. For our apps, Husband had to have the Loaded Tots with queso, giardiniera, bacon, green onions. We also got the Verde Chicken Flatbread with grilled chicken, salsa verde, red onion, queso fresco, jalapeño, cilantro. The Taters had a good balance of crispy tots and creamy queso, while the other ingredients added some tang. It was a HUGE serving and we took much of it home. The flatbread was good, but could have stood a tad longer in the oven. Was surprisingly mild also, and again, quite large. We took some of that home also. For future reference, the menu also has salads, entrees, sandwiches, lettuce wraps… really a nice variety. We have been to the Bar Louie in Chinatown in DC several times, so already knew that we would probably like this one, but so far it has exceeded our expectations due to the incredible positive and welcoming attitude that is conveyed by everyone we encountered. Note: check out some of their specials… Tuesdays, for instance are $ 5 specialty burgers after 5.
