Oh wow, I don’t think I ever realized that the bakery in Grand Asia Market had its own name. Well, let me tell you about my experiences here then! They are located at the front of Grand Asia Market; they used to only take cash, but now they will take credit cards over purchases of $ 5. Items will cost you anywhere between ~$ 1-$ 5 and if you buy 12 items, you’ll get one item free. There’s a variety of sweet buns and savory buns available. Also, they have warm items that are kept in a heated case until an hour before closing. If you come during the weekend, that’s when you’ll get the most variety(for example, I LOVE their mochi bun, but I can only find it on the weekend… I’m sure there’s a rotating schedule of some sort for the weekdays though); and near closing, there isn’t much left either. My favorites are: mochi bun, pineapple style buns(taro, milk powder, and coconut), crunchy roll, custard bun…(I’ll stop there before I look like a glutton). You can also purchase bubble/boba tea drinks(my favorites are the coffee and milk tea) as well as buy Chinese-style cakes and Swiss rolls. Furthermore, there’s a variety of steamed buns you can choose from as well! They also occasionally have Vietnamese che(desserts) shipped in. TL;DR: A great place to hit up for some sweets(and savory buns for lunch!) OR even a coffee run! You’re missing out if you haven’t gone here yet.

Great bakery — I go here probably too often and have tried a bunch of different pastries, nothing yet that I haven’t liked. A big fan of the sesame balls, the pineapple-style chocolate milk bun, and iced coffee with the tapioca boba. Totally fair prices for the quality. THEYDOTAKECARDS over $ 5. Perhaps they used to be cash only in the past, but they take cards now. If you like your pastries hot and fresh I suggest you go right when Grand Asia opens in the morning. It tends to be really busy around lunch and on the weekends, but the variety is also better then too. I prefer to avoid the crowds and go weekday afternoons, but sometimes some of the types of pastries are already sold out so variety is a little less.

On-site bakery at Grand Asia market! Delicious selection from the sesame red bean balls, to the iced bubble coffee, to the hot steams buns waiting that seem to be made just for your belly. mmm yummy tummy belly. lol Cookies, cakes, and other delicious concoctions galore. There are some specials on the weekends, but most treats are available daily. Delectable little find! WARNING: CASHONLY! Better scrounge around for those car seat pennies before you come in… you only need a few – they’re cheap!

Chanelle Cakes is part of the Grand Asia Market. They are located in the same building and are CASHONLY merchants. I have tried several of their cakes, all of which have been really good. Asian bakeries do not use as much sugar as American bakeries, so if you enjoy less sugar, this might be a good option for you. They also use fresh fruit toppings. The bakery has many types of rolls and pastries, which I’ve yet to try… and they have a buy 12 get 13th free for any of the bread or cake items. Their mocha cake is light and not too sweet with a strong coffee flavor. The cake is a sponge cake and even the chocolate on top has a coffee flavor. We really enjoy cake from this bakery.
