Best haircut ever! Go Brooke. What else is there to say? They know their stuff. I used to get my haircut from the owner as well. She was the best. And it seems she holds her employees to her standard

Two years later, and I’m still a loyal customer. Kori is wonderful and I have had a consistently good experience every visit.

AHH! such a disappointing experience for me and my girlfriend who wanted a girl’s day out at the spa. We were on a time constraint and had made it very clear that we needed timely service. That being said, I was started 15 minutes later than the time of appointment. My 30 minute facial(no steam or exfoliation) was finished in 15 minutes and my manicure and pedicure looked like a 5 year old painted with a dollar tree nail polish! ;(not to mention we got done an hour later than the originally scheduled time. However, the massage by Lori was phenomenal and very relaxing. I would give her 5 stars. I mentioned to the manager about my experience and picture of my nails. The only thing she wanted me to do was drive 30 minutes to get my nails re-painted!!! No thanks! I will go right down the street to the dollar store and buy some paint! Very disappointed and def. not recommending or going there!!!

Kori is amazing!!! So good at blonde color and highlights! As someone that has had blonde colored everywhere from Las Vegas to Tennessee, she is totally one of the best!!! Salon itself could use a few renovations and repairs like new paint under the color bar and the Greek looking pillars are kind of tacky, but not huge deal. Definitely recommend it!!!

Eh, okay. Not a worth the 60 dollars for a haircut. Arrived early as a new customer and filled out the form. My stylist wasn’t ready early so someone else took me to her chair for my complementary hand massage. Great. Nope. Basically told me what product she was going to use because it was on sale at the salon and then applied lotion to my hands. Wasn’t a hand massage in any description of the word. Less then I do for myself in the evenings. Hair cut itself was the redeeming factor. It’s cute and I’m glad I said it was too long around the crown the first time. But the woman who gave it to me remarked that oh yes, she was near sighted too, wearing glasses and then kept asking me how this or that looked… finally said to her abruptly that I didn’t have an answer for her endless questions because without my glasses I couldn’t see what she was asking me to comment on. In addition I said at the start I didn’t want bangs and she wanted to cut me bangs. Was really annoying that she told me how cute the back looked more the 10 times in a 30 minute hair cut… if you do say so yourself having cut it yourself. Will call tomorrow to cancel my appt and ask for someone else… or maybe I’ll try to find another place. I hate being sold things… And when we were done, she left me at her station to go talk with another employee. Watched while I paid to see if she looked up and said thanks or have a nice evening… nope. not a people person… she’s in the wrong industry… and she was wearing jeans… for 60 dollar haircut, dress a little better out of respect, pls.

I’ve only gotten massages & bikini waxes here and never tried nail or hair services. I’ve since moved out of the area, but I cannot explain how much I miss Generations and Aveda salons. Massages: Dan is AMAZING. I have no clue who the previous reviewer got a massage from, but I can guarantee you it wasn’t Dan. He is extremely professional, and has extensive knowledge of your muscles and pressure points. I have never had even a mediocre massage from him, and I visited him about 3−4x/year for a couple years. I recently heard he left Generations, and I am bummed b/c I was looking forward to making an appointment when I visited my parents in Raleigh. Bikini waxes: Linda Sue that used to work here years ago, was the best waxer I’ve ever encountered. Since she left, there has been a steady stream of replacements. All of the girls were good(some better than others) but no one has since topped Linda Sue. She is the reason I get regular waxes. If I ever find her new salon, I’m going to make it a point coming down from DC regularly to see her. Not kidding. Other things: Generations is a lovely spa, and I’ve always had great service here. The only thing that ticks me off sometimes is that the receptionists aren’t always friendly. It would be nice to be greeted in a way that shows appreciation for business. Especially since I have spent a decent amount of money there.

Spent $ 30 on a mens haircut and I am very unhappy. Usually I spend $ 10-$ 15 at other places. Decided to splurge. This time, you DONOT get what your paid for.

Having grown up with a hair stylist for a dad, and color done at Arrojo Studio in NYC for years(sue me — dad’s colorblind!) it’s fair to say that I’m pretty protective of my locks… so it was with much trepidation that I researched and eventually booked my first appointment at Generations. Well, that was back in October 2009 and I’ve been loyal to both Generations and my stylist there, Jessica D. ever since. The salon is clean and comfortable, and the free wi-fi makes it possible for me to go during work hours and be simultaneously pampered and productive. Generations uses Aveda products which make both my hair and my environmentally conscious soul happy, and they always shoot me a reminder when I’m due for a refresher. On a stylist level, Jessica’s great — she really listens to what you want, and is honest about whether she thinks what you’re asking for will work or not. Only once has a color not turned out exactly how we wanted it(my hair is temperamental and likes to spontaneously come out orangey… don’t know why, but this isn’t the first time), and Jessica actually *thanked me* for coming back to talk with her about it and get it to exactly where we wanted(all it needed was a little toner). I’ve heard horror stories of diva stylists who act like you must be mistaken, so I was both relieved and happily surprised that Jess was so willing to work with me! I have yet to try their skin and body services, but I do plan to – they seem to run pretty good specials seasonally, so perhaps it’ll be a little autumnal treat…
