Holy Smokes… it’s my neighborhood Goodwill so you know I have to bump them up a star. Besides the tax benefits they offer, this Goodwill seems to consistently offer up a great selection of books, kitchen utensils and housewares. Imagine a six piece set of Calphalon cookware for $ 30 or heavy duty baking trays for a buck each. No, nothing is new but most items are just gently used. Now I’m not one for plowing through used clothing but if I can snag a deal on a good stewpot or 50 cents on a good cookbook I’m all over it.

This is the third one of these so-called Goodwills I’ve been to today. One thing is for sure… though they may be owned by Goodwill, they aren’t called Goodwill and they aren’t like a Goodwill. A better name would be «Used Clothing Store». That’s all they have. Not very much of anything else at all. Especially compared to a real Goodwill.

If you did not know it was here you probably would not know, it’s here! When my Friend ManFromMars told me about this place I thought he was using the GoodWill name in vain(Thrift Store generalization) since there is another Thrift Store close by(a Large one in [ almost ] the same Shopping Center IF you keep going)! Small ! This is a Small Goodwill and though I’m a fan of Small in many Businesses(because I think it is SMART for one thing) in a Thrift Store I usually want to see Lots of Merchandise, though maybe that is because usually in a Thrift shop you must wade through all the stuff you do NOT want to discover that really Great FIND ! Parking: Smaller, Smallest, then there is this Store! My recommendation is NOT to use their LOT at all! Park close by and walk! Much safer for your Car! I remember when it was an insult to say«they looked like they just stepped out of GoodWill! If it is goodWill enough for Scott & Knives and ManFromMars it is Good enough for me!

I wanted to give this Goodwill location four stars. I really did. The selection was great — the store was small, but had a wide variety and lots of brand-new items(tags on and everything). The housewares included lots of things you’d never expect to find at a Goodwill. They had a handful of brand name electronics and even some Coach shoes. I managed to pick up some very nice items — I was definitely pleased with the fruits of my trip. If only if weren’t for the staff. At about 25 minutes before closing time, they turned off half the lights in the store. Included in that half of the store was the dressing room. Ever tried on clothes in the dark? Of course not, because that defeats the entire purpose. Then, once I got out of the dressing room and was waiting to check out, one of the employees was(quite brusquely) herding people towards the register, then hovered just behind the line imposingly. When a couple walked into the still-unlocked door, she very rudely told them the store was closed and to come back tomorrow. I’d say that if you go early in the day, don’t ask any questions of the staff, and take an antihistamine(the dressing room was VERY dusty), you’ll have a great experience at this Goodwill location.
