Service appears to be deteriorating. Food was good but the new employees got the order wrong and by the time i got home i just ate what i had been given. Receipt showed correct. What was in the bag was made incorrectly. With only one other customer in the restaurant it should have been made correctly.

1950s flame grilled fresh burgers, hot dogs, crinkle fries… all delicious, all cooked to order. The chili dogs are not as good as Snoopys but beat Sonic and about any other place. Love this place… pure and simple.

Sometimes the simplest preparation makes for the best food. Good food, simply prepared. Burger is juicy and hot and fries are to die for. Can’t go wrong with Grill 57

Fries were good, but the house special burger was bland. The $.50 upgrade to add bacon netted one tiny slice that couldn’t be tasted. And the A/C couldn’t keep up. Poor value.

hmmm, I think I would rate Grill 57 a bit higher than other reviews. The main reason is after a dinner there of hot dogs, onion rings and tea, I feel like I got what I came for. They offer the Carolina red dogs which Johnston County is famous for so I chose those(they also offer regular beef dogs.). I ordered mine with mustard, ketchup and chili. Grill 57 is similar to Circus restaurant in Raleigh. Old school comfort junk food!

For what it is, it is really good. It’s like an old time diner type of deal. French fries are not good– just a warning. But their burgers are decent. They need to be thicker though. The buns and patties are sort of thin. But this place isn’t meant to be a high dollar burger joint. It’s a cheap little burger and fries place. They have pretty good hot dogs too. Staff is alright. Not super friendly, but not blatantly rude. Great for a quick burger that’s better than McDonalds or Wendy’s.

Best burgers in the Triangle. Been coming here for over 10 years. Everything is made at the time of the order. You can watch them grill your food.

First time here and really did not know what to expect. However, very much a burger joint nice ambiance from the 50’s. However, they will not win any speed records.

Wife and I made this«our place». excellent burgers, hot dogs were amazing. The one thing that will keep me coming back are the fries. I dont know HOW they do it, but the fries stay HOT thru the whole meal. and i do mean hot. crispy, tasty, even the onion rings are good. friendly staff, lovely choices, Other than the bathroom that needs a desperate remodeling… the place rocks!

Grill 57 is your typical down home grill. Burgers and dogs with all the fixins. They boast a 1950/60’s feel compete with the music to back it up and a classic car show every so often. We had the burger and 2 for $ 3 hot dog special. Pretty good taste and consistency but lacking in size. All in all a good experience even with kids.

I do like how the walls of the restaurant have photos related to 1957 in the Raleigh area and the 1957 era cars. Dining area has the feel of a diner of that time. Food is ordered at the counter and made to order. Daily specials are a good value. The daily special when I was there was a double beef burger, which came with fries and beverage. Good sized burger, good taste, and filling meal.

I used to work RIGHT next door to this place when I worked in Garner. I ate here ONLY out of convenience. It was this place, Kickback Jacks, or Zaxby’s for lunch. I hate dogging this place because one of the guys that works here is very personable and friendly. He’s good with repeat customers names. I cannot say the same for the rest of the staff. They are not rude, but arent friendly either. The tables are a tad dirty, the condiments need refills every time I have patroned this place, and dont get me started on the food. The food is simply put, bland. Nothing is special about this places food. Nothing. The deep fried foods taste like Wal Mart freezer brand and the chicken they serve here is bland and lacks seasoning. I dont eat red meat so I needed a few friends to tell me that the beef is extremely low grade. Do any of these places watch ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ or Restaurant Impossible? Frozen food is bad. It’s even worse when almost ALL of your food is frozen. This place has a clean exterior and I’m always a sucker for 50’s throwback diner’s, but this place is too modern with their kitchen habits. Bland, too fast, and expensive. On a positive note, they host a fantastic car show several days a month during summer season. Please add some seasoning’s to your food, buy some fresh, non-frozen food, and deliver great service Grill 57. Make this a fun destination for families and people who want a step up from regular fast food. I’m rooting for you. PS — Get rid of the intercom system please. It drives EVERYONE in the neighborhood crazy. It’s not cute and interesting. It’s annoying.

I have been to this location a few times. I keep reminding myself as to why i dont go back more often. Well, i finally narrowed it down. First, the seating is hit and miss. Its typical 50’s style dining and seating. However, the attention to cleaning up is left to the customers. Staff rarely clean up until customers complain. On every occasion I have found the tables to be — lets say in need of a good cleaning. While the staff appears friendly, there is not much eye contact or friendly smiles from staff. Second, the burgers are so-so. I want to be fair but the meat seems very mid grade quality and sometimes less than that. Sure, the burgers are served hot and wrapped in foil. However, its like i bite into a soggy burger that lacks any flavor at all. The fries are fine but the condiments are self serve and usually running low to nearly empty. Drinks are self serve. Tea is decent quality. The good news is that this location has great possibilities if the staff paid more attention to the customer areas. The food could use some«love» so that burgers have better flavoring overall. The bad news is that customers are not lining up and its only a matter of time before Grill 57 has an out of business sign.

I saw the 2/$ 3 hamburger and hot dog sign(Sat. and Sun.) and my husband and I decided to try them out. There were a lot of customers there so I figure it can’t be that bad if all these people eat here too. The cashier was a nice man and he didn’t pressure us too hard to add on fries or onion rings when we just ordered hot dogs. We didn’t have to wait long until the beef hot dogs were ready all wrapped in foil. Maybe I was just hungry, but they were pretty good! It was a nice, cheap lunch. I was also impressed with the 99% cleanliness rating.

OK, I have been a few times, the lastest being this past Tuesday. The fries were great, how can you get them wrong? The burger was grilled ok but the meat was like Grade C. It was like trying to eat cube steak, it had alot of fatty areas, stringy meat. I threw away half of it. They have fountain machine that is easily accessible up front. They have booth seats on both sides with a long bar and stools running across the front glass. The food was over priced for what you get and the area. ** I felt ok when leaving the restaurant, HOWEVER about thirty minutes or so later I felt like my stomach was going to rupture, it was horrible pain. Will I go back, maybe, not any time this year!

I stopped here for a lunch today and it was packed. The hot dogs are as good as ever. Glad to see they have reopened.
