Applebee’s

We went to eat early as it was Valentine’s Day. We went to the desk to be seated and the hostess had to check break time, a server came up informing her that a table had not been waited on after 30 min. and to get the bartender to help. We asked for a table in the bar area, an overworked waitress came to the table and was immediately told to go to the long neglected customers and that the bar tender would help us. That was the luckiest thing that could of happens to us, on top of tending bar the gentle man took our order and everything came out in a timely manner. I really wish I could remember his name so we could give him the credit. By the way we don’t often eat here., on our last visit everything was so bad our dinners were compt.

I have never been a big fan of Applebee’s, but my niece wanted to try their Monday burger special. If you like everything seared in your burger from pickles, onions, bacon, and such, you may like these burgers. I did enjoy my bacon burger with fries. My server was really nice. The big plus here is that if you order one of their beer specials then you get a pint glass to take home. Not a bad deal. 3 ½ stars for this neighborhood Applebees.

I have enjoyed Applebee’s many times. This is the first time I’ve eaten at the Garner North Carolina location. I just had the most awful fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. The coleslaw came with it tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for three or more days and it cost over $ 30 for two of us. The fish was greasy and horrible as well. We’ll never be back to this location again

Where do I begin? A few minutes after sitting down at our table, I saw an ant walking across it. I killed the ant and did not think much of it until I saw another one walking across the table. I killed that one, thinking this is strange. After we order our food, I see yet another ant, this time bringing it to my husband’s attention as I smush it. Following that, he started seeing them as well. Many dead ants later, we are both starting to feel itchy and I hear a buzzing noise. I pinpoint the sound to a dying fly in the windowsill that is right next to 2 other dead flies. Then I see a steady stream of ants going across the windowsill and my husband and I decide to change tables (the place was not crowded so we just hopped over to the table across the isle when our food arrived). There was a fellow who came by (I think he was the manager but I am not sure because he did not introduce himself) to say something (perhaps an apology) but my husband and I have no idea what he said because he was so soft spoken. The good news is we did not have any more bug related issues from that point forward.
Now onto the food. Shortly before our entrees came out, the waiter came by and informed me that they did not have the grains for the steak and grains dish I ordered. He asked if I wanted rice or another side instead. I said rice would be fine, and it was ok but the dish wasn’t nearly as good as it is with the grains. Additionally, for my «healthy» entrée (supposed to be under 600 calories) one of the 6 slices of my meat was entirely fat. When this was brought to our waiter’s attention, he said something like «yeah, you wouldn’t think that would be in there for a low calorie entrée» and then walked away without any attempt at fixing the issue. I also found nickel sized pieces of what looked and tasted like pooled up burnt cheese on a dish that was not supposed to have any cheese on it. When I told the «manager» about this (when he came by to tell me that they would comp my dish «because of the grains»), he just shrugged and walked away.
All in all, the bugs were scary, the food was ok, and the service was lack luster (except for the waitress with the short hair that cleaned up the «ant table» and wished us a heartfelt goodbye to show her appreciation on our way out — she was the only employee in the place that seemed to really care). We are planning on staying away from this place going forward.

Zero stars. I’ve lived very close to this Applebee’s since it opened and I cannot believe I keep going back for more abuse. I will no longer go inside as the place is usually filthy even though it’s not very busy. So tonight I broke down and ordered a salad online Curbside To Go and prepaid with tip. After sitting in their Curbside To Go spot for 20 minutes (I could see people walking by the windows looking out at my car), I went inside to find out what the delay was. I flagged down a kid and he told me that they won’t go outside after dark. (My pick-​up time was 7:45 PM and it was now past 8 PM.) When I asked how long they were going to leave me outside waiting — shrug. Then I asked if they would not be doing Curbside To Go once the time changed and it was dark at 5 PM — «well we won’t go outside when it’s dark-​dark». WTF? Apparently, someone, somewhere was shot one night by a customer who didn’t want to pay their bill. Putting a sign up to come inside is apparently beyond their capability. When I pointed out that I had prepaid my order with my credit card and therefore was unlikely to pull a gun on anyone — my logic stumped the kid. NEVER AGAIN!

We had the $ 11.99 pick three appetizers and oriental chicken salad. The apps came with enough food for 3 – 4 people to sample. Ours consisted of two large pretzel sticks with beer cheese, boneless wings (6), and chips with spinach dip. Everything was delicious. Our server was super nice and fast.

This is for service only, it was horrible. It was both the issue of the server herself and the kitchen. I knew we were going to have issues as soon as we sat down because the table behind us was having issues with their orders coming back wrong several times. Same thing happened to us. She took our order and only half of it came out right. The new tablet on the table had our order correct but it just didn’t come out of the kitchen right. It took way to long for it to get sorted out and way too long to get checks. I’ll stay away.

The thing about chain restaurants is that usually the food is nearly exactly the same from one place to the next even across state lines. This visit today was just that. For game day I was surprised to see so few customers here. There were only four customers at the bar. While seated at the tables I couldn’t see any of the televisions and only half of the booths had a perspective that allowed those occupants to watch the game. Granted, this isn’t a sports bar, but it would be nice to be able to follow the screen if one chose to do so.
The service was very friendly but a bit slow in comparison to the ratio of wait staff to customers. I think that the waitress in this section was doing all of the tables that other servers should have been jumping on. I was greeted promptly and with a smile so that’s a bonus. My friend and I chose the 2 for $ 20 special and we both chose the three-​cheese chicken penne. For once the kitchen crew didn’t skimp on the cheese. The bread stick (yes… one) was warm, soft and tasted fresh unlike some I’ve received in the past. The pasta was not overcooked or undercooked and it was a pleasant surprise. We selected the cheese sticks as the included appetizer and as usual it wasn’t anything super special that you couldn’t get from the frozen food aisle.
Four stars would have been justified had the service been faster, and I’m not putting this on my waitress due to the obvious lack of support.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! During a business lunch a woman started screaming and pointing above the bar. There were MULTIPLE mice running around above the bar. Couldn’t eat the food they had just brought out.

I’m glad to see local businesses taking action to appreciate our anions veterans.

Food is Applebee’s menu but service was great. A thank you for coming, handshake, and have a great night… don’t get that everywhere!

Most tasteless dish I have had in along time — Napa Chicken. Just devoid of any flavor.

never been my favorite place, but today bartender and manager are in a big disagreement, so who suffers, THE GUESTS! service was nonexistent, poor service no followup, to ask if i need a refill or if my food is ok, mens room is dirty, had to get my menu, staff is unfriendly, FORGET this place and go to kickback jacks, WAY better food and friendly service!

Dropped in here for game day and well to say the least i was surprised that the food was better then just «OK» today. it helped to soften the continuation of the Carolina panthers flub up’s on the field. but back to the food, i got an onion ring app and a few things to go .
such as the boneless BBQ wings and the oriental chicken salad, a chicken tender basket, and the three-​cheese chicken penne. Wow people really love to eat chicken while watching the game, i guess it’s an American thing… anyway.
Everything was great the salads fresh and full of flavor, the chicken moist and cooked to perfection (BBQ Boneless wings). the pasta dish delicious and generously portioned. Now I’m not big on chain spots but, i think Applebees is at-​least making an effort to serve actual food that taste like food.
«Props» to you Applebees for actually coming through for me this time, with food that looks the same way in person as it does on the menu for once.

Loved my steak dinner and the salad was very good!
