Hanson Overhead Garage Door Service

I found Hanson via Unilocal reviews. They were quick and friendly, but I get the impression that they’re a bit overpriced. It’ll run you ~$ 275 to get a tortion spring replaced. I payed ~$ 325 for spring and new nylon rollers (wheels).

Terrific service from Ronnie. He evaluated the situation, helped me understand the strange decisions the prior installer had made and what needed done — got the job done quickly and my door is now quiet and safe.

So I called today at 9:42am and talked to Heather about scheduling a time for someone to come and look at our door. I work out of town, so Heather calls my wife at 9:57 to schedule a time for them to come out later today. So Ronnie shows up around 12:30pm and gives us an estimate. Then at 2:00pm Ronnie is back with another gentleman to start the work. I get home at 4:45 to find my new garage door opener installed, the hardware updated for the door itself and it all looks great. Wow, that’s service. I can’t even get the pizza guy here that quick…

We recently moved to Cary, NC and had to find a garage door service. The previous owner did not take care of his garage and it showed. Among other things, the safety eyes weren’t working and the door screeched and rattle every time it open. It was a real hazard for my family. We selected Hanson because of their same day service and some coupons we found. They are true to their word. They were able to get to us the very afternoon we called. Their two responding guys performed a safety check and took their time explaining everything to me as well as my options. They clearly knew their stuff. I felt very comfortable with them and their service and signed up for their supreme premium door package, which was a reasonable price. Thanks to Hanson our garage door now operates smoothly and quietly. Its great and we have been very happy! The supreme package also comes with a 5 year warranty.

I was late for a meeting b/​c my garage door wouldn’t shut. It kept almost closing and then would open right back up. I unhooked it from the motor and closed it while I was gone. Needless to say, I was really aggravated at the door. It was on my mind during the entire meeting. When I got home, I called Hanson. Their owner came out b/​c the staff were busy, and I was making a bigger deal out of it than it was. I had never worked with these guys before so I’m not sure what prompted such a quick response. Within a couple hours, they had replaced the springs and rollers, and the darn thing sounded brand new. I talked with Donald for a while and found out why he came out. He’s just a really good person running an honest company. I found that the reason the door wouldn’t close was b/​c the tension due to the old springs and rollers kept causing it to stop thinking it was hitting something as it was coming down. Made perfect sense. I also found out that his son plays baseball, his granddaughter is his life and he’s a family man. We stood there and talked for about a half hour. By the time we’d finished, I felt like I knew the man.
By far the best service experience I’ve had in the past 10 years.

The Hanson Overhead service tech has been nothing but patient and professional with us when our garage door needed immediate repair and we freaked out (a spring broke and scared the heck out of us!). Their reassurance that everything would be okay, and that things would be done properly, made all the difference. Now it works like new!
