I used to love this place, but in the past year it seems their product has become disappointing. The crust on their pizzas is typically too dry and borderline burnt(even on a whole pie). Also, their sauce seems to have changed as I could taste the canned tomato sauce in every bite. I really try to support local businesses, but you would probably be better off ordering from a chain or Capital Creations.

I love the pizza here; it’s no frills, traditional New York style pizza. I love the Sausage as well as their spinach and feta pizzas. It is the best I’ve had since coming to Raleigh.

I have gone here plenty of times in the past because I love right behind this place and the food has always been 2.5 stars at best when intoxicated. However… They have brought in a new partner to improve food, presentation, and customer service which has really saved this place. The pizza has dramatically improved, you can always tell good pizza by the crust. They no longer have the salad bar where you made your salad, they now make custom salads to order. I have also ordered the falafel sandwich which is delish

The pizza wasnt that great. I was disappointed as the last time I had it it was very good… I don’t know if get changed the recipe or what. Completely lacking in any real flavor or substance. Also, I ordered the salad bar… the items were not very fresh and they did not have any salad dressing. I found it strange of them to sell salad without any dressing. Will not be going back.

Mr. Pizza & Salad used to be such a great pizza-by-the-slice place! Then they changed ownership. Now the menu features lots of Middle Eastern food, which looks pretty tasty – and I’d be excited if I were there to eat falafel – but the pizza quality has gone WAY downhill. I stop at Mr. Pizza about once/week on my way to carpool and before after-school activities to get slices for my kids as a treat, and am bummed that I will have to alter my route now to find another slice shop. We gave it a good, long try, but each week the slice quality gets worse. There is often little to no sauce on the slices, the crust is overcooked and like cardboard, and today both slices were burnt. They should give up on pizza, I think, and rename the place Mr. Falafel & Salad.

LOVE this place! It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is not only reasonably priced, it’s also delicious! Love their small salad bar, and the slices of pizza are perfect. My husband likes to get the calzone. They also have wings, subs, and regular sandwiches. You could eat there every day for a week and not have the same thing twice. I’m so happy to support this locally owned pizza shop.

First time trying this place out this evening. I got the chicken stromboli with broccoli instead of onions and it was awesome. I have to admit I’ve never seen a stromboli served in the long, and sub-like fashion that this one was, and but when I took a peek at it, but I was like, «Wow! « I’ll definitely try something else in the future and see if the rest of the menu is worth the 4 stars I’ll give it for now.

Got a pizza with a groupon now deal — was huge, tasty and the garlic knots were great! We got the chicken philly, which was definitely new for me on a pizza but great! Thanks!

I’ve never met a pizza I didn’t like so how could I NOT like Mr. Pizza & Salad? Located conveniently on Peace Street between St. Marys and Boylan, I’m guessing they do a good business with the high school kids and State. Inside the place is pretty tight and small with limited seating and a small salad bar. I was drawn in by a discount coupon and wanted to give the place a try since it’s so close to home. $ 11 later, an extra-large pie with sausage is at the counter. It’s big, it’s cheesy and looks pretty darn good! And you know what, Mr. Pizza delivers a good slice. A standard, thin-crust pie with a good balance of cheese, tangy sauce and crust. Not a pie that will blow you away, but plenty good especially if it’s after midnight since they’re open late. But nice to meet you Mr. Pizza, you’re doing fine by me…

Mr. Pizza has a sign prominently displayed in the window for Kronos Gyros. However, no such thing appears on the menu and only a gyro platter(which includes french fries and«Greek» salad) is available – for nearly $ 10! Instead, I got a calzone, which was greasy and in which the vegetables were undercooked. I don’t think I’ll go back unless I’m really craving pizza by the slice.

With my late eating habits, I’m constantly looking for a new place to get late night food. Add a few drinks in there on a Friday or Saturday night and I’m thrilled to have found Mr. Pizza & Salad. I’m not quite sure how long this place has been open but they definitely seemed to still be working some of those kinks out when I stopped in a few weeks back. Nevertheless, their main selling point is the ability to order pizza by the slice and the awesomely late hours both in-shop AND delivery. On Friday and Saturday evenings they are both open and deliver up until 3:30AM. Other evenings of the week, they close rather early for delivery(11 on Sunday, Midnight from Mon-Wed, and 1AM on Thursday). The pizza itself is decent and in all honesty gets even better the more drinks you have to soak up. I had a piece of both pepperoni and the Hawaiian, a side of two garlic knots, and a drink, for about $ 7. The Hawaiian was excellent and the slices were huge. They also offer a salad buffet, calzones, subs, wings, and pasta At this time in the downtown or Glenwood South area there aren’t many other late night dining choices and I’m glad to have a new one available for the late-night, drunken munchies. They also have some pretty cheap combos and I’m definitely going to be checking it out again.
