I’ve been taking my son and his friends to this park for about 5 years. While they really like several things about the park, for the past year they have complained about the same thing each time they go. The park is filthy dirty. It appears as tho it is never cleaned. The dust and dirt make surfaces very slippery. It’s obvious that it is no ones’ responsibility to clean the actual park. Very sad. We’ve also noticed that for the past couple of months each time they go there on Saturday the place is dead. Very few skaters. We frequent Sk8 Cary, The Factory and Marsh Creek also — all great skateparks for different reasons. Come on Project, «clean up your act», please.

Well, I have to say I was very impressed when I first called and stopped by. However, the lesson was not so hot. The class was too much of a mix of levels. I think they are just getting started and have a few kinks to work out. Skating is a lot of trial and error… but safety is always important. They are missing a big chunk of that for entry level skaters. The class is not set up for multi-level instruction and the instructor left my son hanging out at the edge of the Bowl! (Bowl– picture a pool and this is similar to a bowl to skate in) Considering this was the FIRST class my son did not now the fact that if he stood there on his board that it would not take a lot of work or force for him to slip and break something… including his neck. When I called my son and told him not to hangout there he stood there the teacher did not correct the behavior. Since the instructors were very young I thought this would be the ideal place to get instruction. Ehh… live and learn I guess. If we go back for a second time and second review I would like to actually speak to someone. The class opens at 9am and they open the doors at 9am!!! Looking for another place or even something private with an instructor who can teach to all levels and at appropriate times and space. We ended up leaving an hour into the lesson. Just not the way to teach the kids. There were also kids there that had some pretty good skills, but they should have been in a different class. Yes, I used to skate… way…and I mean waaayyyyyyyyy back in the day. So, I am completely aware of what should and should not be done in the class for a beginner. I didn’t take a class… I just hung out with skaters so that is how I learned. I look at it this way, if my 6 year old son says, hey I want to skydive I will say ok… let me find a place. Darn skippy I will make sure the instructor is an actual instructor and not someone just scheduled to work. I feel the same way about SBing. oh well… on to the next. Very disappointed. :(
