We have always wanted to go so decided to go during restaurant week. To start off, I had a red wine and my wife a cosmo. We both enjoyed our drinks. The bread was small but so delicious. I had the house salad. I enjoyed it but they didn’t provide enough dressing. Most restaurants put too much but not here. My wife said the dressing in her Caesar salad was more than enough. We both got the petite filet. So hot and so delicious. It e as definitely small – hence the name – but so tasty. We both got the chocolate cake for dessert and loved it. The only complaint of the evening was that we had to wait a while to get dessert as they had run out. They should have offered something else but didn’t. We have already talked about going back next time there is a restaurant week.

My husbands C-mas party was held here. The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect. I am always disappointed when I order a steak, but not from Ruths Chris! The lobster mac was amazing too.

Ate there last night, sorely disappointed. Took my family of four out to what was one of the highest praised restaurants I’ve em heard of. First the service was slow and too quick to leave the table. Since it was my first time dining I needed to ask some questions, but wasn’t given much opportunity. When I finally did get to order, I order my porterhouse well done and it came out bleeding. I ordered sweet potato casserole and they brought out spinach. My steak fries were burnt. Very disappointed especially since for the four of us I spent almost $ 300 dollars.

What I love about Ruth’s Chris is the uncompromising attention to service. In honesty, I usually don’t review chains because the standard menu and«boxed» experience is predictable and rarely needs much introduction. That said, Ruth’s Chris always breaks right through these stereotypes to deliver a flawless experience that is as delicious as it is classicly elegant. The menu is very traditional, offering the flavors and accoutrements you’d expect at a fine steakhouse without any distracting gimmicks or tricks to take away from the main attraction. You should expect white glove service, delectable steak and sides, carefully prepared cocktails, and an extensive wine list. The ambiance is old-world glamour that will augment the most simple power lunch or the most earnest celebration. Whether you’re visiting Ruth’s Chris for cocktails or a full meal, you will leave 100% satsified.

$ 158 later. Whoaa wasn’t expecting that. This was my first time ever at a Ruth’s Chris. The food and service was excellent. My girlfriend and I both got the 11 oz filet — so good! We also got a side of potatoes au gratin and a starter of BBQ shrimp. The shrimp was good, but tiny portion for $ 17 and the potatoes were just ok for $ 10, as a side. Overall, I would say it is way overpriced when you can get much more for your money and similar quality at Angus Barn or somewhere like that.

We dine here about once a month and the staff are extremely attentive, remember what we like and it is just an overall great experience! Mario is a fabulous Manager who goes out of his way to say hi whenever he sees you no matter how busy he is. Also, we used their catering service for our in-home engagement party. Top notch service, attention to detail and extraordinary food all the way!

Not sure how this place has such a low rating. Possibly it is people’s perceived value in regards to the pricing. Every steak I have ever gotten at RC’s has been on point. Went here last night with a group of buddies for our annual guys Xmas dinner. I had the t-bone medium rare. Again it was $ 55 so not cheap but you know what you will be paying before you go so I have no problem with that. The Mac and cheese has jalapeños in it and is great. I will be back.

Amazing and resilient staff… I watched them handle the Thanksgiving evening with true class. After driving six hours one way to have Thanksgiving dinner with my nephew who is in the military and would have been alone on this day, we were fortunate to get a dinner reservation last minute at this place. I was surprised to find the place packed for the holiday and was not thrilled by the fact that we had to wait 30 minutes passed or reservation time to be seated… to add to this, the lounge was closed for a private function. So we waited in the very small, very crowded hostess area and witnessed first hand the staff dealing with rude/entitled patrons… a woman, with a tall fruit and ice cocktail who decided that leaning on the hostess counter sipping her drink and blocking the staff from entering and leaving the hostess desk at the busiest time would get her seated faster… the well dressed, seemingly educated man who was the head of a party of 10 requesting the manager because his table was not ready-«…sir, your reservation is at 7:00, it is 6:55, you will be seated at 7:05». Let’s just say that 7:04 was quite interesting, rude lady was out of liquid in her glass, but that didn’t stop her from sucking on the straw to make sure it was empty, lest not forget about those fresh blueberries at the bottom, if you’re not fishing them out with your fingers, you’re not classy. As for the meal, we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious Ruth Chris Thanksgiving Dinner served by a very polite and attentive waiter.

My hubby brought me here for my birthday on a Sunday evening. As usual, Ruth Chris’ staff(from the front of the house to the kitchen) did not disappoint. As an appetizer, we ordered the calamari. It’s was fresh and crisp and the sweet chili sauce was the perfect compliment. Calamari is one of our appetizer favorites and their rendition was well-executed. We enjoyed the Justin Cabernet Sauvignon with our meal which was a great substitute for the Penfolds Cabernet we requested. Our server did a fabulous job with this recommendation. For our main course, we ordered the Porterhouse for Two – cooked medium, Creamed Spinach and mashed potatoes. Each component was cooked to perfection! The steak was served table side and each of us received a hot plate with a pat of creamy butter to coat our slices of steak. The steak was so perfectly seasoned that steak sauce was never a thought. My favorite part of any Ruth Chris meal is the creamed spinach and it was as yummy as ever – inexplicably creamy and delightful. The mashed potatoes were creamy and whipped to perfection. We topped our meal off with a slice of their delicious cheesecake and practically had to be rolled out of the restaurant from sheer fullness and delight. The customer service was fabulous as always. Ruth Chris is a great place for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.

We actually live in Charlotte, which is home to our favorite RC location, but were in town for an event. We decided to go in for the Happy Hour specials(YUM!), so naturally, we ate in the bar area. We were greeted with a smile by Anita on a Thursday evening. We were early enough to avoid the rush, and Anita was very warm, personable and attentive… Plus her drinks were great! I ordered a «fun» drink saying I wanted something like lemonade, she delivered this DELICIOUS blueberry lemonade martini concoction. Did I say it was delicious! My husband went old-school with a glass of Woodford Reserve on the rocks(on ice). We appreciate how all RC locations are consistent. This is HUGELY important. The menus are the same, the quality of the food is the same, the cooking methods and the standards are the same. The same at RC means it’s always excellent. If you go during their happy hour, you must try their sliders — NOMNOM! We ordered the Calamari(a MUST try) and two orders of sliders. The calamari is fresh, not chewy, perfectly crisp, with a light batter fry, some finely diced red peppers, and a sweet Thai chili sauce. SOSOSOGOOD! The sliders are made with filet, what else!?! Order them however you’d like it cooked(I recommend mid-rare). RC doesn’t have to be expensive, though I know it CAN be. If you go to the happy hour, you can get a 5-star-meal at a 3-star-price! Excellent experience. Oh, a quick comment/tip: It is illegal in the state of NC to have a true«happy hour.» Specifically, a restaurant cannot legally have a discounted drink for a set hour or few hours — however, they CAN have all-day drink specials. The upside is that places like this often make up for it with their«happy hour»(Food) specials. It’s a short time window, and usually only in the bar area, but you should always ask. I hope this review and tip helps you, now go enjoy some yummy food!

1. service is amazing 2. happy hour menu = yes 3. bar part in the front is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax; dim lighting and great ambiance Ask anyone, the steak here is better than any other of the area steak houses. I’m more a seafood/chicken person, but would easily eat some of a steak from Ruth’s Chris. I’ve loved the Ahi Tuna(I think it’s actually an appetizer) and shrimp that can be added to an entrée. I wish they had a little more seafood, but it is a steak house, so I understand completely. The menu is straightforward without trying too hard. It speaks for itself in flavor.

We ate at Ruth’s Chris a couple times in the last month, with different family members celebrating different things. Service for both visits was impeccable, although one guy wouldn’t let us order a salad from the prix fix menu separately, which was not available on the regular menu.(I mean, there has to be some price at which the salad was available.…) He ultimately checked with the manager and we were allowed to order it. The drinks were good and the waiters were very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was generally very good but somewhat variable, depending on what you order. The pork chops and lamb chops were to-die-for, but the petit fillet on both occasions was just ok, not $ 42 worth of ok. The vegetables were somewhat of a disappointment for our vegetarian, with some being excellent(mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, grilled tomatoes) and some being extremely plain and tasteless(broccoli comes to mind especially, also spinach). The salads were all very good as was the French onion soup.(Tomato and Mozzarella salad was the favorite.) The deserts were also uniformly excellent. I think everyone comes to this restaurant with very high expectations because it’s Ruth’s Chris, and it is hard to meet them every time. Getting 4 stars out of 5 in light of that is pretty good. I also wanted to note because of the comments made about the ID checking — my daughter came with us and looks about 12(though she is 21). She was not carded when she ordered a drink, though she should have been based on her looks. Perhaps it was because she was with some older ladies. ..

My parents came up this past Friday night to celebrate(early) for my birthday. I was totally blown away when my dad suggested Ruth’s Chris! We arrived around 5:30& there was hardly anyone there. My mom told them we were celebrating my birthday. When we got seated, they had placed rose petals on our table! :) So sweet! Our server Nikki was so sweet & attentive. I ordered the three course meal of steak house salad, filet & lobster tail with creamed spinach as my side & the strawberry shortcake for dessert. My meal was so amazingly delicious! I wish I could eat like this every week! I love the mixed bread choices at the beginning of the meal, too. The ambiance was lovely, too. They had the room fairly dark, with fantastic jazz music playing. Another nice surprise, free chocolate sin cake for my birthday! So we had TWO desserts! They were so yummy. While the prices are way expensive, it is good to go for special occasions.

Only visit this location if you have an older NC drivers license; for you will be harnessed and interrogated, if you have a newly issued one. 1 star Because my mimosa was awesome! The manager«Eric» demon is very confrontational and passive aggressive. Will not return to location. Sent complaint to corporate. –Marcus Rutherford

I was very displeased with my service at this Ruth Chris Location. I’m giving it two stars because the French 75 was good. I called an hour before inquiring on what time the Brunch Menu would be over. It’s typically 3 o’clock at most establishments, however the hostess over the phone assured me that they were serving Brunch until 5 o’ clock. We were greeted by the Valet Attendant and the Hostess to which she told us we may sit anywhere in the bar area. My colleague and I found a seat and our waitress Bethany swiftly came over and introduced herself and mad light chatter, before asking us if we knew what we wanted. We both knew what we wanted and that’s when she informed us that Brunch wasn’t available. I told her that I previously called ahead to make sure that Brunch was being serve and reiterated my conversation with the hostess to her. She then said she would go check with the kitchen staff to see if they would accommodate our orders. Also, she asked us to remove our hats inside. This was not a huge issue, I just think that would be the hostess’ responsible, since she was the first person to see us. After a few minutes she came back and told us that they would accommodate us. All was well… so I thought. We then proceeded to order cocktails(Mimosas) while we waited for our food. Bethany did the preliminary standard ID check. My colleague has a new State issued ID(which looks different than mines, even though we’re from the same state). Bethany makes a few comments about how she’s never seen this ID before and mentions how thin it feels. Things really irrelevant, however she says it looks fine. She bring us our drinks back and we proceed to converse and ultimately wait for our food. In the middle of us conversing, a gentlemen walks up. We are taken aback, because he doesn’t even introduce himself and proceeds to inquire about my colleague’s ID. While he is questioning the authenticity of the ID, I went to the official ID’s website on my cellphone to corroborate with the story. Mind you, I still don’t know who this gentlemen is. I politely asks his name, to which he tells me «Eric.» He still did not give me his job title and at this point I was uncomfortable in the situation. He proceeds to make jokes about us being informants, alluding to having the restaurant’s liquor license revoke. His overall demeanor was smug. So, he leaves and Bethany comes back over and apologizes. We asked her to cancel the order for the food and we will just pay for our drinks and go elsewhere. It was also disheartening, because we overheard some guys at the bar make a joke, «you didn’t even ask us for our ID.» My advice to «Eric» is to learn how to work on your customer service skills. You’re working in the service industry, customer service is one of the most vital aspects. Overall, I’ll probably stick to going to the Ruth Chris in Durham. Less passive-aggressiveness, more good times.

Awww… the sirloin steak that melts in your mouth, bloody and shameless, you are the only excuse to be a man with a high cholesterol for a day. Add mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, with chilled Chardonnay, and you are in paradise. That’s what I ate, listening to the lecture on the new anticoagulant, feeling the blissfulness close to immortality. Let no blood clots or clogged up vessels scare you away from this place. We only live once.

Ruth’ssssss Chrissssss Ssssssteak Sssssizzzzzle so the Ad used to go… I’m NOT a fan! Overall I’m NOT a fan, though = Steak gets a little more than 4 Unilocal stars! We came here for Beef Steak and at Restaurant Week Prices it was a certain«deal» … For My First time eating at a Ruth’s Chris and most probably my last, because Prices are NOT Competitive and some of the other Food was Disappointing at ANY Price! Rundown of the Meal, Service and Horrible Décor(sorry for the Spoiler) in Unilocal stars Steak 4 stars plus a little more Chocolate Cake 4 stars even though the Presentation was BAD! Salad 3 ½ stars Potatoes Au Gratin 3 stars…(For the Price 2 stars)(Presentation 1 star) Gumbo VERY Watered Down and LACKED flavor = 1 Unilocal star Décor FIRE the designer 1 Unilocal star Presentation of ALL Food gets 1 star! Even if this were a Cafeteria I would expect better presentation, though the Flavor IS more important! Service! During Restaurant Week they want to sell you«UP» and that is fine with me(meaning I already know what I want and I know the Boss is watching and expects to reel-in a few)… Staff did a fine job! Everyone was very Pleasant and my Steak was Perfektly RARE, as Ordered«REAL Rare»!!! Also Delicious as Leftovers!!! Dumbed Down for Restaurant Week? Maybe? Is my review Dumbed Down? Maybe! We were interested in Great Steak, at Restaurant Week Prices they did pretty well on the Steak, though it is hard to overlook the other food since Ruth’s Chris has a Reputation(one other than Unilocal — though the one on Unilocal is more accurate)!

So to be honest, I’ve been here 4 – 5 times for work-related functions, and so far I haven’t seen anything that makes me want to eat here on my own dime. If the rest of their food was as good as their steaks, I might reconsider. I always get the filet, and it is melt-in-your-mouth good. Unfortunately, the rest of the food doesn’t measure up. I’ve tried a variety of sides, apps and desserts and none of them merit the price point. The worst were the mashed potatoes, which tasted like they were from a box. The stuffed mushrooms, cheesecake and chocolate cake were all solid, but again not what I would pay that kind of money for. The desserts taste like they are mass-produced and came from a freezer. Honestly, this is the Applebee’s of expensive restaurants. Sure, I’ll eat here if someone else is footing the bill, but I can think of much better places to drop that kind of cash and get a much higher quality meal.

This place was absolutely amazing. My husband surprised me with this place for our anniversary. It takes a reservation and I can understand why. We showed up on time, and the server showed us to our table. They had set up a table with rose petals which was so beautiful. The lighting was dim and candles were everywhere. The mood was wonderful. Our server was very knowledgable and very upbeat and kind. She was able to suggest things on the menu and specialty wines they had available. She took our orders, and we were served our drinks and bread with butter. I had the 11 oz filet medium rare with mashed potatoes, and my husband had lamb chops with steak fries. The smells were so amazing coming from the kitchen, and I was so tempted to order another steak after finishing my filet!(it’s that good) Our server said that the steaks are only seasoned with salt, pepper, and butter, and steaks are served on 500 degree plates. My filet was cooked to perfect and was tender enough to tear apart with a fork. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well and had a great taste. My husband and I neither have had lamb chops before, but I sampled his and we both agreed the taste was very good. The steak fries were interesting. They were tender inside and crispy outside, and still had the skin on some pieces. Overall dinner was excellent. I ordered the chocolate lava cake and my husband ordered the chocolate sin cake. The Sin Cake was creamy and was almost the consistency of cheesecake. It was very rich. My lava cake was very good and moist, and was rich as well. Overall this dinner was the best I have ever had. It’s too bad it’s so pricey, or I would love to eat here all the time :)
