We decided to stop into Salt & Lime Cabo Grill for lunch today. It was after the lunch rush so they weren’t very busy. Cute place! We were seated in a booth and our server came over straight away to take our drink orders and to drop off a basket of chips and a small bowl of salsa. We decided to day drink and ordered margaritas. My beau got a Beach-bum margarita and I got a Pineapple-Jalapeño margarita. Both were very good! We ordered the Santa Fe corn(otherwise known as elote) as an appetizer. It was delicious! They make it with a chipolte aioli which was delicious and gave it just a little bit of spice. For his entrée my beau ordered the Cabo burger which came with sweet potato fries. The fries were really good, not what we were expecting. The inside was so creamy and the outside was crispy and delicious. After being indecisive I let our server, Mary, help me decide between the Carnitas Al Pastor and the shrimp and grits. She highly recommended the shrimp and grits… and she did not steer me wrong! I am a big fan of shrimp and grits and these were probably the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely amazing! This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last. Salt & Lime Cabo Grill was delicious. My beau has already decided to order the shrimp and grits himself next time. I plan to order them again too. They were so creamy and amazing. I can’t say enough good things about them. Thank you for the recommendation, Mary!

My Carne Asada street tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! They were very tasty. My wife had a salad that said it was made with mixed greens, but the salad used iceberg lettuce instead. She said the salad was otherwise good, but that was a disappointment. The restaurant was also very lively and noisy. If you don’t like a really loud atmosphere, this might not be your spot.

The service was super friendly and lacking on being attentive, however we were the only people on the patio and the place was packed. Their tacos are to die for. So good. I would definitely go there again. Wish I lived a little bit closer.

First time, having«I Love Mango» margarita and Lunch Chicken Burrito– delicious and upscale! Black beans cooked perfectly, burrito was full of taste, seasoned perfectly, and goat cheese was delightfully prevalent with every bite. Would DEFINITELY recommend both items, and asking for Mary. She’s so nice and friendly!

Came on a whim and glad we did. Varied menu made it hard to choose what to order! Tried the mahi tacos and island shrimp tacos and both were tasty. Will be back again to try another tempting item!

My girlfriend and I came her looking for a delicious, affordable lunch and we found that here. We had the guacamole, the fish tacos and the skirt steak fajitas(medium rare). The guacamole was delicious and fresh. The fish tacos are probably the best I’ve ever had — crispy fish with a hint of lime. The skirt steak was very tender and had a beautiful taste to it — smoky and fresh like the cow’s buttocks. Yummy the whole meal cost $ 36, which is quite a good price for the good quality food we received. Our waiter(Johnny) was very kind and we would highly recommend him. My favorite physical part of the restaurant are the signs that show how far away cape cod(617 miles) and other fun tourist destinations are.

Décor is modern and inviting with varied Baja inspired cuisine. While it is a bit pricey, the food is fresh and flavorful and well presented. This isn’t your typical fast food Tex-Mex type of place. Sometimes you just don’t mind paying a bit more for quality food. You have to try there guacamole. Superb! They have traditional as well as spicy serrano. My son in law enjoyed it so much, he got both, but didn’t think the serrano was spicy enough. Next time I’d opt to try the fire roasted tomato and goat cheese. So many great options on the menu, it was hard to choose. I was very happy with my Key lime Mahi Mahi, made me feel like I was back in Florida! Came with coconut rice, roasted corn, sauteed shrimp, a mango glaze with salsa in a light cream sauce. Melt in your mouth delicious! A gimlet with cucumber juice and basil was mighty tasty too! Of course they have all kinds of tequila for Margaritas too. They also serve chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal. Service was friendly and efficient. I foresee future visits!

I’d heard about this place, I’d Googled it, I’d Unilocal’d it… got a gift card and finally made it! Came in Saturday night and had a really nice server, but can’t remember her name! I’m blaming old age for that. We asked for suggestions, she suggested tons of things. We finally ordered queso, my bf got the Key Lime Mahi Mahi, I got the Shrimp & Grits. I see many are a fan of the salsa, I just thought it was okay. I also thought the queso was strange, but maybe only because it was different. We did finish it, so obviously it wasn’t too strange. The food is pretty and it tastes really good. We sampled each other’s food, and for the prices, it’s chef type food. By that, I mean layers of flavors. However, the food was hot… I mean spicy hot. On a level with Buffalo wings hot. I asked the server if ALL the food was that hot and she told me that it pretty much is. So for my bf, it’s a never again. For me, I’d go again. I like heat and spice. I also see people saying they got seasoned chips and/or blue ones. I don’t THINK ours were either, but I’m unsure. If you like pretty food with tons of flavor and some heat, you will LOVE this place… but your lips will be tingling!

This place is super awesome. Staff are so friendly and the food speaks for itself. And if you have an ambience that has a character to itself unlike other — who am I to complain. We wanted to give the guacamole with pineapple and jalapeño. We were kinda disappointed. It’s nothing but guacamole with some pineapple and jalapeño pieces in it. Definitely doesn’t deserve a menu section for itself. For entrée, we did the chile relleno… It deserved an A+ for both quantity and quality. Proper stuff ! It was flavorful on every bite. After I was done with my portion, I was looking at my wife’s. For dessert we had the Kahlua Flan(wife’s choice). We couldn’t have ended our evening any better. It was so rich and creamy and the Kahlua flavor wasn’t overpowering and wasn’t too subtle. Kudos ! Bottom line: Super service. Even Super good and Super Duper Kahlua Flan Yo !

After being disappointed that we couldn’t take our toddler to another restaurant in this complex… we decided to nip into salt & lime for a quick bite. I didn’t quite expect to enjoy my evening so much. To begin with friendly host/waitress. The décor was very warm n inviting. Their menu looked great… loved their guacamole & salsa menu. Sooo many options to choose from. We decided to try their pineapple jalapeño guacamole… which wasn’t out of the world, but was different. For entrée we decided to share a chile relleno & we are glad we did it. The serving was huge & was sufficient for the two of us. It was very tasty with lots of quinoa :-) Finally the Kahlua flan was dangerously delicious :-))) the sugar cookie with expresso on the side added a nice crunch to it. We had such a good time enjoy the ambience and their delicious food. We are definitely coming back :-)

Since I’ve gone back to Salt & Lime, I wanted to revisit my original review. Originally, I’d compared it to Gonza mostly because I went there to look for a backup for the overly popular and often inaccessible Gonza Tacos y Tequila. But that’s not fair to Salt & Lime. This isn’t a knock-off of Gonza. It is its own restaurant and deserves to be evaluated on its own merits. Firstly, they are located at the far end of a large shopping center anchored by a supermarket. Parking is abundant, and I’ve yet to suffer any real trouble in finding a relatively convenient parking spot. The interior is spacious and open, tastefully decorated but in a way that sets a welcoming ambience. There’s no schtick here, no cultural appropriation. Just a nice, open, friendly space with lots of comfortable seating and a really cool patio out back. The patio is lit up at night, and they do have propane heaters out there for when it gets cool. Of course, it’s only natural to make a beeline for the tacos. And why wouldn’t you? They’re awesome! But after going through four different kinds of guacamole there(and they have more varieties I have yet to try), I can tell you that the guacamole is nothing short of amazing itself. My favorite is the smoked pescado, with the more vegetarian friendly roasted corn variant coming in second. My lunch buddy on one trip had the steak torta and was amazed at how good the steak was inside. Once he could put it down long enough to talk, he told me that the steak was good enough to stand on its own on a plate, whereas at most Tex-Mex restaurants, a cheaper cut of meat will be used and hidden within all of the other sandwich toppings. I’ve had a few of the tacos so far and I especially like the grilled veggie taco. Chicken Tinga was really nice, too. Though after my buddy’s enthusiastic praise for the steak torta, I may have to try the carne asada taco next. The staff here has always been so friendly and happy to serve. They don’t pull that stuff where they sit down next to you at the table and call you«bro». They also never let your drink go dry. Top marks for attentive friendly staff! Since this place isn’t far from me, I’m sure I’ll be visiting from time to time and refreshing my review as I go.

Thank you, thank you to Unilocal for once again steering me to another wonderful restaurant. This Friday, my friends wanted to go to the same old Mexican restaurant, but I was secretly wishing I was back in California eating Tex Mex at La Puerta. Then I remembered I bookmarked Salt and Lime to try. It took some convincing, by my friends were down for the cause. This place is obviously popular; be prepared for a wait. The dining room is somewhat small and parking was scarce. We arrived around 7pm and waited 25 minutes. Not too bad. The décor is modern and snazzy. From the Hostess to the Waiter, the service was excellent. Of course the star of the show was the food. I had a hard time deciding what to order, because almost everything sounded yummy. The dishes are not traditional. I love the creative combinations. I ended up ordering the Canyon Pasta, which was a-maz-ing(warning, it’s on the spicy side, but bearable). I ate it all! No take home plate for me. My husband had the smothered cheese enchiladas with Chicken Tinga and cleaned his plate as well. My friends were also extremely pleased with their entrees. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu and some drinks, especially when the weather turns warm! So glad I can get a little taste of Cali in Raleigh, NC.

This place continues to evolve and get better and better. Every time we go, there’s something new to try, yet still retains the same awesome seasoned chips and super fresh salsa. You can tell the owners/chefs(whoever is in charge here) really cares. The thought that was put into the Valentine’s dinner we experienced Sunday night was truly exceptional. And to make it even more special, it was a Valentine’s DEAL.(instead of Valentine’s rip-off that well, some restaurants choose to do). We didn’t even know they were going to offer a Valentine’s menu, but when we saw it, we couldn’t resist. There were two choices per course. One appetizer and one dessert to share, with an entrée for each. All for just $ 40! And let me tell you there was no skimping on portions or quality! We started with a Grilled Flatbread that had chicken and roasted poblanos and lots of other yummy things that all melded beautifully. Both of us remarked that they needed to put this on their regular menu(and I do believe they are doing so). Husband then had Braised Beef Shortribs with Chipotle Mashed Taters and Spicy Sauteed Spinach. While I had their Salmon Veracruz with rice, sauteed spinach, avocado. Both were excellent! By now I was thanking my lucky stars that I had just gone to the gym, because we still had Banana Royale to share. Crispy phyllo dough wrapped around a chocolate stuffed banana, fried and served with creamy cinnamon ice cream. Yes as good as it sounds! On top of all this super deliciousness we had a terrific Server and we were nice and comfy in one of their booths. Yet another wonderful experience here!

After 2 visits to Salt and Lime, I can confidently say I am a fan! Their menu is filled with so many tempting options, that I have a hard time deciding what to order. And I haven’t been disappointed yet! During my first visit, I ordered the Carnitas Al Pastor Tacos. I was surprised at how much they stuff them with meat. They were really filling. While my tacos were good, I liked Vu N.‘s Braised Short Rib tacos better. The meat was crazy good. On the receipt for our meal, we were given a Buy One Get One Free Entrée deal for our next visit! So of course we had to take advantage of the deal and go again! So during our latest visit, we tried the Fire-Roasted Tomato and Goat Cheese Guacamole. While it was good, it felt like it was missing something. The creaminess from the goat cheese was really good, but I think it could have used more spice or heat to contrast the creaminess. For my entrée I ordered the Fire-Roasted Chile Relleno and added the Braised Shortribs to it, since I enjoyed it so much on the tacos. So good! As I ate more and more I noticed it got spicier. So this might not be a good dish for those who can’t handle some heat. And to finish, we had the Kahlua Flan! KAHLUA. FLAN. What an amazing combination! The kahlua flavor was not too weak or too strong and the texture of the flan was perfection. You can definitely count on us returning for this delicious food!

I thought Salt and Lime was just another Americanized Tex-Mex restaurant like the many others around Raleigh, but after eating here, they are definitely in the upper echelon of Tex-Mex restaurants. There are so many unique dishes on the menu, and I really wanted to try them all. We started with some chips and salsa and ordered guacamole as well. The chips have a unique seasoning to them, not your typical salt seasoning. The salsa was mild and decent, nothing special. The guac was pretty fresh, very green, and just tasted liked you’d expect good guacamole to taste like. For lunch, I ordered the braised short rib tacos. For $ 14, you get three tacos, which may seem pricey, but the portion size is pretty big and they do not skimp on the meat. Each taco was loaded with a moist and tender fall apart short rib coated in a sensational BBQ sauce. The sauce was slightly sweet and strong in flavor. The meat was seasoned very well with some nice chipotle spices and was definitely the star of the dish. There was definitely some heat coming from the habenero pickled red onions. The tacos also had napa mix, guac, queso fresco, and cilantro. The warm corn tortilla was a nice addition as well. The braised short rib tacos were a hit for me, and I would highly recommend them. Overall, the food at Salt and Lime is very fresh and tastes really good. I think the price is worth it for the quality and portion size they give. With three loaded tacos and chips and salsa and guac, I left very full and very satisfied.

Delicious, fresh and unique Baja Mexican fare! My good friend recommended this place to me and one day I was in the area and decided to give it a go. The restaurant is really nice inside and make sure to look up, there are some really cool lanterns. We started off with a free order of guac( Unilocal deal) and some salsa. Both very good. I got the braised short rib tacos and my husband got the surf and turf burrito. Both were delicious!!! Not your typical Mexican food. Very fresh, and black beans instead of refried. The margaritas looked fantastic, but I just stuck with an iced tea. I wish there was a location closer to us, like in Cary. Maybe one day they will open up a second location. Love their food and service!

Very tasty american mexican food. Not super authentic stuff, but flavorful nonetheless. Next time i’ll have to get one of those huge margarita glasses – many people ordered them and i looked on in envy. Nice fun atmosphere. Definitely would want to come again. We enjoyed everything that we had. I think we got a free guac for checking in so that was good too. Make sure to check in and get yours as well!

My thoughts about this place are all over the place. The food was pretty good generally. I was impressed with the seasoned chips and the smokey salsa. I had the traditional fish taco — the pickled radishes were so delicious; excellent touch! As recommended, I tried two margaritas — the blood orange and the spicy jalapeño. The blood orange was overly sweet but the jalapeño was delicious — a nice balance of spicy and sweet. I tried my boyfriend’s food and drink as well — the grilled watermelon margarita and the braised rib tacos. The margarita tasted like straight sugar — so sweet that the watermelon flavor was lost. The braised ribs were decent, but there was so much sugar in the BBQ sauce that it overpowered the meat. Without the sauce the taco would have been perfection. Also, we had a big group and after our meal finished the manager hovered over us several times encouraging us to leave. It bothered us all quite a bit. I think that after spending over $ 700 for the table we deserved to sit there for a few minutes beyond paying.
