Pretty good place. Sushi was fresh and tasty. They don’t have much of a selection, but good anyway for what it is.

Sushi LuLu? More like Sushi Woo-Hoo! Alright… I’ll show myself out. In all seriousness though this is a fantastic place to get some delicious Sushi. A few friends and I visited this place when I first moved to Raleigh and we were all absolutely astonished at the sheer deliciousness that was our sushi. The prices are fantastic as well! You can get a sushi roll for as little as $ 5. Sadly,(or should I say, happily?) it takes 2 rolls to fill me up! Oh and the best part about this place is how close it is to where I live! I’m just a short 2 – 3 minute drive away from enjoying their fantastic sushi. In fact… let me go grab my keys.

Sushi at a reasonable price. The phở broth at this establishment UNDENIABLY beats phở super 9 and phở far east. The hibachi and the white sauce is a great compliment together. My ultimate goal is to infiltrate this resturaunt and ninja my way into the kitchen for the recipes ;) hahaha

Attentive service and great food. Loved the pork dumplings for an appetizer and then split 2 sushi rolls and a chicken hibachi with the wife. Kids chicken hibachi bowls were a great value. We’ll definitely ask friends veggies in the kid’s meals next time.

Having moved to Raleigh a couple of years ago I had not had Phở since I left the DMV. Sushi LuLu is in the neighborhood and when I heard there was new management and they had Phở I decided to give it a try. The place is small which worries me as word gets out it won’t be easy to get a table, but that is me and my selfishness. Great atmosphere inside, which includes the smells coming from the kitchen. I ordered my Phở and was surprised when they brought it to my table, a large portion with a healthy amount of steak, some places serve a ton of noodles and just a little steak, but that was not the case here. The broth was delicious the steak tender and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I truly enjoyed my dining experience and will be back for my Phở. They have other dishes and from what I saw on some other tables all looked good. This fat boy was pleased.

We loved the restaurant under the previous owners so when the chance arose we couldn’t wait to come back. New owners are friendly but that is where the good ends. You are seated with menus and a dry erase marker and given the instructions to mark what we want and bring it to the front to place our order. Note we sat our selves and were given no water or drinks until we went up front to ask for it. Now on to the orders. The menu says hand rolls are available on request so along with our other selections we ordered 2 Spicy Tuna hand rolls which we abbreviated with a capital HR since there was no where on the menu to mark the hand roll choice. We also ordered phở with meatballs, 2 California rolls, 1 Philadelphia roll, 1 crazy monkey, 1 black Tiger, and steak hibachi. Note that sashimi is NOLONGER available. The kitchen of course had translation problems with our HR and since there was no waitress to take the order we were asked. Needless to say that was a needless waste of time and aggravation. Moving on… So we get the food. And while the presentation was pretty that smile was short lived. The Meatballs in the Phở were a disgusting mystery meat, the California Rolls the lowest quality crab ever. Let me tell you folks Harris Teeter’s California Roll puts this to shame. While the Philadelphia Roll was sub par on the fish, the most disturbing part was the fact that the roll was WARM! The Crazy Monkey tasted like a McDonald’s Chicken nugget and just for the record we are eating sushi here folks, no chicken was harmed! The Black Tiger and Tuna Rolls were at least cold however back to the subpar fish. Now to top it all off the hibachi was like the rest of the meal nothing to even remotely rave about. We will not be back and honestly we are here to warn anyone that was a previous fan to stay away.

since the original owners have left, sushi is now average(not great but not the worst), and they now offer phở and a few other hibachi entrees. it’s not a bad takeout spot but I definitely wouldn’t be making a trip here if it weren’t very convenient. bummer it isn’t a standout anymore, but they are consistent and the new owners are very, very friendly. hope they eventually get the sushi up to par, but we have visited 4 times in the past few months and been somewhat disappointed every time.

I can’t believe this awesome place is inside Bedford!!! Their Phở is awesome, people are nice, and sushi was very good! Probably the best Asian restaurant in North Raleigh. Better than Mizu, and Thai Café. This and Lemon Grass are my favourites in North Raleigh! Authentic too, family restaurant. Support a local business!

Sushi LuLu is a cute little place in Bedford. I’ve had the sushi and the phở there. I really liked the crouching tiger roll, I usually don’t do tempura rolls but I went on a limb and it did not disappoint. If any one likes Ika sensai/squid salad they have the best– it taste like it’s supposed to unlike other sushi restaurants where they sort of leave you short of squid and a whole bunch of extra things. I then ordered the salmon sashimi bowl. For the great quality of the salmon the price was decent! I had the phở last time I went and it was great. Definitely authentic Vietnamese phở. It taste like how my grandmother would make it :) and I’m super picky about phở. So if it’s a cold day or if you have a hangover(I promise this helps) go have some phở. If you’re feeling sushi, hibachi, or even phở– sushi Lulu has definitely got you covered. I will be coming back more often

We’ve been here a few times since my last review. Sushi Lulu is now more«relaxed» in style rather than the very upscale little niche that put orchids on their plates where we walked into at first. The menu is a cute little chalkboard style, the server station now houses plastic utensils, chopsticks, napkins and sauce containers. You will get disposable cups and to-go containers for most of the dishes(though our sushi still comes out on a beautiful wooden platform) since they are take-out oriented now, but they still have seating inside if you rather not tote fish with you. It’s definitely more casual overall, BUT, don’t skip it. Presentation is still beautiful and their chef makes amazing food. They greet you with a smile and care that you enjoy your food. I was surprised to see that even with their ‘new concept’ the quality of their food has not gone down one bit. A+ Keep up the greatness, Sushi Lulu!

Been going here for 1.5yrs. It would hover between 2.5−4 in quality. Staff was always a 4 — 4.5. In the last few months the yellow tail quality was off several times. Went a few other places and then came back… Kind of the least of the evils. They have recently gone all takeout. Problem is they need a better location than the kid-centric, buried in neighborhood location they are in. Not sure about their latest attempt.

The sushi is great. The owner might disrespect your children. If you have toddlers this is not the place for you — he might go to your table and ask you to «hush» them when they’re not even making much noise.(There was one other table near us who was as shocked as we were at the request. They had kids.)

My co-worker and I came here for dinner after our sweaty ‘Go Ape’ Adventure near the Blue Jay Park. We Unilocal and found this and got a Über to drop us off here. It’s interesting that its really close to the suburbs. We ordered and shared the gyoza, spicy seafood udon, 3 special rolls, and a salmon poke. Everything wash down really well with a large a sapparo. We didn’t get dessert and everything cost $ 100 before taxes. The quality of the fish and service is worth it. If I liked around here I would be come here for my sushi fix.

Everyone saying that sushi lulu is a hidden gem is spot on! Best sushi experience I’ve found in Raleigh! Sure, it’s pretty far away but it’s definitely worth the drive. They even have Japanese craft beer! Awesome place!

I’m not sure what these people are ordering when they come but the food is abysmal. I found the menu interesting, but the taste and quality sub far. Next time I’ll drive long for better sushi.
