Been coming to Tasu for a few years now and I think they’re back on track. The sushi and consistently fresh and flavorful and there is a huge selection of designer rolls. As someone else mentioned, I tried the burger and it’s not their sweet spot — I would definitely get an AB burger over the one here. That being said, the curries and sushie are solid and we’ll continue to go here. Half off wine on sunday’s too.

Been here the last couple times I came to the RTP area and enjoyed it. There are a ton of menu options especially for sushi rolls with interesting, unique combinations. I wouldn’t order sashimi from here but the rolls are good. An indication I use for sushi quality is whether they give you real or fake ginger. There’s is fake(pink) so… Otherwise I love their Pad Kee Mao, the noodles are similar to udon style. Overall decent service, decent food and decent location. Nothing spectacular but not many complaints either. They’re cocktails are very strong, which can be a good or bad.

Worst service I have ever received at a restaurant! We were borderline regulars here, and now we will never come back! It took 30 minutes of sitting at a table in a not busy restaurant to even have someone say hi to us. Every single person we interacted with was rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. Food was ok. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would give it no stars if I could.

The only reason that I will give here for one star is that I cannot give them zero star. We had been assigned to a weird place that was at the front door, even though most seats were empty. After that, we had been waiting for at least 10 mins until there was a waiter showing up. The food is not impressive but the price is expensive.

Food was delicious as expected, however this is the second time the serving staff was lacking. Last time I was«cheated» with non exact change when receiving my change back and no coins were included; as however minute the amount may have been(less than $ 1) the fact a staff member decided to be dishonest about my money had me quite worried how many clients had been cheated. Today, the staff was nonchalantly attentive as is its a job but no pride in the service. Whether it was a refill which was abruptly delivered when walking by to bringing a box without a smile– as if I owed the service staff my gratitude alone. Sad to experience this twice in the same place with two staff members.

Food was mediocre, sushi did not have great taste and did not appear fresh. Thai coconut soup was much too sweet and had ONE piece of shrimp included. Also the restaurant asked my companion, who is US born and is of Phillipino origin, for an ID to accompany his credit card. He is a business associate and was in business apparel. This was not acceptable and it appeared to be blatant racial profiling. Bad attitude, customer respect and mediocre food. Guess I am not in New York or California!

Went her for Sushi. The fish was definitely edible with an average flavor. We got the sushi-sashimi special. A lot of pieces of fish. It came with a salad and soup. I chose Miso. The salad was HUGE with ginger sauce — must be a southern thing. My miso soup didn’t have tofu in it, but my colleagues did. Mediocre service with a huge redneck twist. Ambience isn’t great — I think the owners need to get a feng shui expert in there.

I’ve been a big fan of the Shiki Sushi empire for many years, but I think between their rising prices and today’s insulting experience, I’m done. We always take advantage of the BOGO sushi, and today was no different with our order consisting of 6 pairs of nigiri for a total of 12 pieces. When our order arrived it was quickly dropped off by a bus person who was long gone by the time I figured out there were only 10 pieces on the plate so we waited for the server before eating. Over 5 minutes later my server finally came back and I showed her the problem, she verified the order was placed correctly, and would have them make the missing pieces. Suddenly, the unapologetic manager arrived who implied that I ate the missing pieces since my order was«verified correct when it was sent out.» Here’s a tip Mr. Manager, you should have someone that can count to 12 check the order before it leaves the kitchen, and don’t subtly accuse your customers of trying to scam you for free sushi. I offered to return any two of the remaining pieces on my plate to have an even number to qualify for the BOGO sushi deal, he stared at me a minute, then walked away without a discernible response. He eventually returned, told me that he credited me for the missing sushi, and walked away even after seeing my unsuccessful attempt to get my server’s attention to get our drinks refilled. I normally get very good service at Tasu, but by the end of our meal I felt I should get the tip after I had to go get my own utensils and drink refills. After multiple requests for drink refills and utensils went unanswered I was fed up with this ridiculous dining experience. I calmly got up, went to the front of the restaurant, and found someone willing to help me. While getting my son’s drink refill I was met by the manager who didn’t seem concerned about the defeated look I must have had on my face. He didn’t ask if there was something he could help me with, but instead reminded me of the favor he had done. He conversed with me about the situation remaining unapologetic, and reminded me that the sushi was there when it went out. Clearly I’m so lucky to not have paid for something I didn’t receive in the first place. Thanks for a great dining experience Tasu. Sincerely, Accused Sushi Thief

As I love sushi, I was excited to check out Tasu’s sushi selection since they’re located close to home and have BOGO. But sadly, I was disappointed with the quality and taste of their rolls on my last visit. I’m not quite sure if it was just my rolls… or maybe the chef who made my rolls… or all rolls being poorly made? But I could not believe how loose the sweet dragon roll was(fell apart so easily!), not to mention the meager size in comparison to the same roll at other sushi restaurants like Waraji or Kanki. I also ordered the scallop bonsai roll which sounded great on the menu… but didn’t really come together on the plate. Not only was this roll loose and fell apart easily, but each piece didn’t have all the elements which tells me they skimped on the ingredients… Definitely not happy with that. I didn’t try any of the other entrees so I can’t speak to them but I will not return for the sushi rolls. Sure, it’s BOGO rolls which is nice, but if the quality of the roll is poor and they skimp on the ingredients… you may want to order something else.

Had the Tuna Tataki appetizer and it was great. Didn’t think I’d like the seaweed salad that came with it but was pleasantly surprised. It went very well with the pepperiness of the seared tuna that when eaten together had a great balance. I choose the Saigon noodles for my main and enjoyed it greatly as well although the egg that came with it was fried hard all the way through and I prefer still soft and gooey but I did not specify and they didn’t ask. The only thing keeping this from being 5 star dining in my opinion is I guess service related. I have been to tasu several times over the past year and have enjoyed it everytime but unfortunately there has also always been something wrong like this time it was there was not silverware at my place setting. Once there was lipstick on my glass. They are always willing to rectify the problem.

I absolutely love TASU, we are regulars and we there the day that TASU opened. Great sushi, hands down the best place in the area. I recommend Tokyo Sunrise and Atlantic Lover. Great service. We really like Kevin! Ask for him!

My brother loves this place because«the fried balls with the fish are the t*ts». Unfortunately, everything else I mistakenly ordered(after my brother clearly stated there are only two good things on the menu) was sugar ladened garbage. The red curry I ordered was simply not red curry. The chicken was spongy and had obviously been soaking in the sauce for hours. The wonton soup and the fried balls are A+, but the other items our group had were far below passing grades. Nothing worse than an unhealthy and foul tasting meal.

I can’t stop thinking about this place. I’ve been to the one in Cary and this one and all I have to say is if anyone ever want really good sushi GOHERE! From the food to the service to the drinks everything is amazing

This has been my fiancé and I favorite spot since we moved to the RDU. Service is great but the food has changed… and not in a good way. The calamari was battered with cornmeal instead of tempura. The cornmeal gave the calamari a grainy feel when you eat it. They placed the few pieces on top of a large bowl filled to the top with cellophane noodles. I had Phở Chicken Soup which was hot both ways(spicy & temp) The sushi was good and I always love the BOGO deal. Tiffany was our server and she was polite and kind. Always checking on us. Pros: Soup, customer service, sushi deal Cons: Calamari I will come here again… maybe they were just having a bad night.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to theTasu is a great place for lunch with coworkers or a dinner date. I’ve been here many times and tried a variety of items. My favorite apps are the spring rolls and steamed pot stickers. Service is always wonderful. My only complaint is the price of the burgers that were recently added to the menu. While the burger was tasty, it was not worth the $ 16 price tag. The Angus Barn charges $ 18 for their burgers with a whole pound of meat versus the ½ pound at Tasu and the flavor of the Angus Barn is way better. Next time I go back I won’t be getting a burger.

I’ve been going to Tasu for years, it has been my favorite sushi place since they opened in Brier Creek(used to go to Shiki Sushi in Durham before that). My experience has always been great, but when my husband and I went back this past weekend(January 8th), the sushi was completely off. the fish was not fresh and the tempura had a weird flavor and felt stale. We told our waitress, who told the manager about our concerns, and nothing was done for us. They took our plate full of sushi back to the kitchen and did not take anything off our bill. Thoroughly disappointed by this experience and the poor quality of the sushi served.

Seems like every time I choose to dine here the sushi prices go up. Of course, Tasu is BOGO, however, if you’re a relevant sushi bar in today’s world your sushi is BOGO. Only difference between Tasu and a lot of other sushi restaurants is the price being noticeably more expensive. I can find the same sushi rolls with the same quality of fish at other restaurants in the Raleigh area for a cheaper price. Tasu has great food all around, both sushi and other asian dishes, but if you’re looking for an affordable experience I’d stick with the lunch and dinner specials, not the sushi.

I’ve been ruined by Fujo. Ruined I tell ya. My dude, baby and I had a date night with some old friends and I was excited for some sushi. Haven’t had sushi in a minute(you know being pregnant and all). Of course I looked up the ratings and thought it’s worth a try. I was looking forward to the food cause our friend has tried all the rolls and said we couldn’t go wrong… Huuuu… Homeboy was wrong. I tried the Manhattan roll and the chicken one. Chicken in sushi is sacrilegious. But I’m glad I ordered it because it was alright and I was EXTREMELY hungry. The Manhattan was just not my thing. If not for the crab Rangoon I would have starved. Maybe their regular dishes are good but sushi? It’s mer. I should have just ordered 2 orders of crab Rangoon, maybe some spring rolls as those were decent too. Clearly I’m going to have to put my homie up on some Fujo when him and the wifey visit. They’ll be saying Tasu who?

Had Tasu for the first time during lunch last week and was a big fan. I am not a huge fan of sushi, but I love Hibachi and Tasu had great Hibachi at very reasonable prices. It was very crowded at lunch time, and the place is not very big, so make sure to leave yourself enough time. I ordered a Hibachi steak meal and it came with a cup of hot and sour soup and fried rice. The service was quick, and we were able to get in and out in less than an hour. If you work near the Brier Creek shopping center, Tasu great spot for a delicious lunch!

Ordered Udon Pad Kee Mak with BOGO Sushi deal of Cary Roll and Sweet Dragon roll. Just a typical Japanese restaurant. Nothing too special. Also, the wait for food was way too long.
