First time try this kind of pots, like it but it is indeed expensive. We tried the 太极 chocolate pot, sweet! Save me from the boring day.

We came to this Melting Pot back in September and the experience was terrible. The service and food both were less than desired. Matt the GM contacted me and asked me to give them another chance and so we did. What an absolute 180. James the server was awesome and the food and timeliness of the food was perfect. It was a well oiled machine! We will be back and cannot wait to receive the great food and service.

This is our fifth or sixth time at this Melting Pot. We LOVE it! It’s the perfect place for a date night! The booths have high backs and are very comfortable! They even have two person corner booths for an intimate, cuddly date night. Which is what we love! We always get the four course meals! Cheese, salad, entrée, chocolate. It’s the best way to experience everything. So you start off with a cheese fondue. This time we chose the Cheddar Bacon Potato Fondue. It came with bread, carrots, celery, tiny tomatoes and red apples. SO good! For the salad we chose the Caesar. I love it because it’s a traditional Caesar but they add pine nuts for a sweet crunch! For the entrée with typically get the classic but this time we chose the Fondue Delight. It came with Filet Mignon, chicken, shrimp, LOBSTER, and mushroom saccheti. We chose Mojo to cook the food in and it complimented everything perfectly! NOTE– you cook your own food! I find this so neat about this place. The entrée also came with broccoli, potatoes and mushrooms. And for the dessert we chose Chocolate Smores Fondue! Milk Chocolate, marshmallow cream and graham cracker crust. Dessert comes with strawberries, bananas, graham cracker crusted marshmallows, Oreo crusted marshmallows, pound cake, rice crispy treats, brownies and blo die. We also got the enhanced dipping plate! This came with strawberries, blackberries, cream puffs, cheesecake and one other thing. When our waitress brought out the chocolate and gave us the option to roast our marshmallows so of course we did! Our waitress was super friendly and helped us create another amazing experience! She also gave us 6 chocolate covered strawberries for free for our anniversary! We love it! It’s not for everyone but it’s definitely fun for us!

I went here a couple of days ago with my boyfriend for a date night dinner, and it was delicious, there were just a few things I’d change. I had an excellent server, Guy, and he was extremely attentive and made sure to explain everything he was combining and was excellent at making casual conversation. He was helpful without being overbearing. The food itself was delicious but did have some hit or miss items. We just had the complimentary bouillon broth, but it was superb. We each did the four course dinner, which was a great experience throughout everything. My boyfriend had the surf and turf, and the way the chicken was seasoned was excellent, a bit of kick with it. I had ordered the sesame coated ahi tuna, which was sashimi grade but I was disappointed with it. It tasted entirely too fishy for me, especially since I expect tuna to be a buttery taste that isn’t overpowered by the fish flavor. I didn’t like that as the course of the meal went on, the broth seemed to soak up the seafood flavors of my boyfriends dish, when I’m not a fan of seafood it can be a little annoying. I think the best part of our meal was the dessert we had the cookies and cream chocolate dream, but we switched the dark chocolate for milk chocolate. Guy actually let us roast our marshmallows over the pot which was a really neat trick. Overall, I’d definitely be back, but I did find a couple of the dishes lacking their full potential but it may have been just the evening. The food would make it three stars but the service definitely made up the extra star.

Love this place, been coming for years. Last night I had salmon for the first time, fondue style. A little pricy, but always a sure win. I may or may not have scraped the inside of the chocolate fondue bowl and eaten it straight from the spoon. I have no shame.

I came here with my husband for the first time for my birthday. I had heard lots of good things about The Melting Pot, as well as the high price tag, so I kind of knew what to expect. We opted for the 4-course special, which includes a cheese fondue, salad, meat fondue, and chocolate fondue. Including tip, we spent about $ 95 for the meal, so it is definitely a special occasion type of place. For the cheese course, we chose one with different pestos mixed in, and it was delicious. It was the only course that the waiter puts it together for you at the table, so that is very cool to watch. It came with bread, granny smith apples, and veggies for dipping. I think the bread would have tasted better with it toasted, but other than that, I had no complaints. We both chose the house salad, and the tangy house dressing was delicious. The salad was a little heavy on dressing and contained a surprising amount of iceberg lettuce and cheddar cheese. However, this was not a big part of the meal, so I didn’t expect too much. The entrée course contained different types of meats and seafood, and I was surprised at how flavorful everything was. The marinades on the meats didn’t get boiled away in the broth, and the flavors of the broth could also be tasted on the different meats. For the chocolate fondue, we chose the chocolate turtle, which was so rich and decadent, and I loved the candied pecans. The waiter also gave me extra cookie cake and brownie for dipping for my birthday, along with a birthday candle and birthday card. I really appreciated this gesture and it really showcased the great service they offer there.

This place is a franchise and with that, the overall quality is quite similar to other Melting pots throughout the US, however, the portion size is about half of what you get in many other states. Generally, if you are not a big eater and only have a couple people at your table, this is not an issue at all because there is enough food. However, if you do go with a larger group(4+), you’ll have to order extra or not share(unless the extras are kids). I agree with most that the experience is fun and can be romantic, and the service is typically much better than most restaurants. The price does not match the quantity though. I used to go to Melting pot nearly once every month or two, until I relocated to the area and found that servings far smaller than I experienced elsewhere. If I am on vacation elsewhere and I’ve hit up all the other restaurants I wanted to try, then I’ll head to the area melting pot(ie. FL, AZ, NJ, IL, CA). This place is like Kanki, where everyone seems to be celebrating a special occasion, which is fun to see.

The Melting Pot is always worth it, but this visit in Raleigh was exceptional thanks to the server. The restaurant seemed to run like a well oiled machine and the waiter had his timing perfect. It was much appreciated.

I simply cannot imagine how this chain of restaurants stays open. I have fond memories of my mothers fondue pot and have always been interested in trying this place out. First of all, the price point for the quality of food is way out of line. We decided to order à la carte and realized if we all(3 of us) had a cheese appetizer(which had to be the same) it would be 27.00. That’s a reasonable price for an appetizer in a high end restaurant but not at this place. The cheese fondue had a very strange taste and was served with a small bowl of bread cubes, veggies(a few carrots, celery and cherry tomatoes) and apple slices(strange). The salads were mediocre and the idea of cooking veggies, meat and seafood in barely simmering water(a mixture of broth and wine) fell flat. Needless to say, I will never step foot in one of these places again. I mentioned to the waiter that they have s great response for food complaints«well if you don’t like the food, complain to yourself because you’re the one that cooked it»! In our waiters defense, he was very understanding and seemed like he’s been down this road before with dissatisfied customers.

Again we had a wonderful anniversary dinner! Coming this time needing gluten free we werent sure what to expect. We made our reservation online and was impressed they knew about the gluten free request without us reminding them and they knew of our anniversary too. Then to our surprise there was gluten free bread for the cheese fondue and gf brownies and cupcakes for the chocolate. They were tasty too! We didnt miss out on anything compared to past visits. We will definitely be back!!!

The place smells really bad and I’m pretty sure it’s one of the fondues. Other people were commenting on it as they walked in. The food is mediocre but the experience is fun. Some of the sauces are kinda bad and the rest taste average. For the price you pay they could improve the quality of the food. The salads were kinda sad. Bread was stale. The alpine swiss cheese fondue was bad. The bathrooms need a renovation. The service was great! It wouldn’t take much to dethrone The Melting Pot as the king of chain fondue restaurants.

I enjoyed my visit to the Melting Pot. The atmosphere is pleasant and it’s fun too. Our waiter deserved 5 stars for laughing at all of my hilarious jokes, but the food was just ok. It’s expensive for what you get. Either you get a huge portion, and stuff yourself past your comfort level or you are just teetering on the edge of full by the end. We erred on the side of caution, then went home and made tater tots. The dark and dulce dessert was delicious. So we’re the other items! The cheese was a bit bland. And I know the origins of fondue was stale bread but I would have been happy with fresher. I’d definitely go back, especially for ladies night where the prices are a bit more reasonable. Make a reservation. It’s worth the visit. Ladies night is Thursday!

This is honestly my favorite place to go for a nice night out. Dinner isn’t just dinner at the Melting Pot, it’s an event. It’s a fun way to eat, it inspires conversation and even though the restaurant is always busy, it seems intimate. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The waiters that I’ve had have always been knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The birthday and anniversary box of dipped strawberries that you get is a really classy touch– definitely sign up for their newsletter online. They are always having really cool theme nights.

My how time flies! Coming back here I see that it’s been quite some time since we’ve been to this restaurant. Looking for a 13th anniversary experience, we opted for cheese & chocolate and had an enjoyable experience. Wednesday nights are half price bottled wine night… score! Husband doesn’t do the wine thing, but knowing I could take the remains home, I opted for a KJ bottle. Husband did a Maker’s Mark Manhattan. Both were just fine. We certainly contemplated going for the full four-course experience, but having done it in the past and having come away feeling so full, we remembered that we had said before that we would have been happy with cheese & chocolate, so that’s what we did this time. We started with the cheddar one, which has garlic & beer to flavor it. It comes with white and brown bread(I prefer brown), carrots, celery, cauliflower and green apples. Next up, we went with the Fiesta, which is a slightly spicy version(comes already mixed from the kitchen, versus the made in front of us cheddar one)…this kicked up cheddar was our favorite… came with the same dippers plus a few red and white tortilla chips. In the past there used to be broccoli… it was missed! Dippers, although good, were not exactly original. We followed all the cheese with a dark chocolate orange fondue that came with rice krispie treats, banana, one teeny triangle of pineapple, strawberries, pound cake, two kinds of brownie pieces, and our favorite marshmallow. Simple and delicious! Seriously though, with two people, not two teeny triangles of pineapple? Atmosphere is very comfy… we had a small table for two. Folks around us were tables of one, so you don’t have to be celebrating something or be with a group to enjoy this place. Service was very good, and they do small things to acknowledge a special occasion, which is appreciated(candle and card)

Fondue should be renamed FUN-DO! I went to the Melting Pot for dinner last night because I had a giftcard to spend. My boyfriend and I ordered the 4-Course Experience. 1. Cheese — Fiesta Cheese Fondue 2. Salad — House Salad 3. Entrée — Land and Sea 4. Dessert — Flaming Turtle My favorite part of the meal is always the cheese and the dessert. The entrée portion at the Melting Pot has never wowed me. To review the meal choice we made… I much prefer the Spinach Artichoke over the Fiesta Cheese. I love the sweet and tangy dressing on the House Salad. The best part of the entrée is always the green goddess dip! Last but definitely not least, the chocolate fondue! Personally, I enjoy the Original and Chocolate S’mores over the Flaming Turtle. Honestly, I prefer going to The Little Dipper for a fondue experience! They have locations in Wilmington and Durham. The price point is better and the food is better.

We love the melting pot, but we typically enjoy going to the Durham location more than this one. The service isn’t quite as good, the ambiance isn’t quite as good, but the food is always excellent. They used to be the only one to Triangle Restaurant Week, so that’s when we’d go, but now that the Durham one does it, we probably won’t be back, especially since it’s further away.

Melty cheeses with dippy things– Sounds great in theory but didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The interior was kinda dark and sexy but the overall experience just had this thick coating of «overpriced bougie chain» vibe that stopped me from fully enjoying my cheese. For the price you’re better off getting some quality ingredients and doing this at home.

I have to say, this was one of the hardest star ratings I have ever had to come up with… Why you might ask? Well you are in luck(if you continue to read this), because I’m about to tell you why… First off, the atmosphere was really beautiful. We loved the art on the walls, the tables /booths were really nice… So a check in the plus column. Each table had it’s own burner(obviously) and they were all very clean, up to date, etc… Again, very nice. So we sat down, and waited a few minutes for Dan(our server), who for the record was VERY good… Problem was, we didn’t get to experience how«good» he was was often… To say it another way, service was VERY slow! After we ordered, it took all of 10 minutes to get our drinks… And I mean we didn’t order complex stuff… Coke, water and a mixed drink(which by the way, my fiances mixed drink was in a small highball glass and cost 9DOLLARS!!!). Anyway so we wait, and wait, and finally Dan comes back and again does a REALLY great job making our fondue for us, telling us what he was making, adding, etc. We think wow, this is really nice… I can’t wait for the second course, which was our salads… Side note: the way the place is set up is designed for a 4 course meal, appetizer of simple fondue, salad, main meal, then a desert fondue. We did not know this, so when we ordered salads off of the«salads» portion of the menu, and they cost 6 – 8 dollars depending, we assumed larger sizes… but not huge. So we aren’t really big eaters we assume fondue for 2 and 8 dollar salads should be plenty… WRONG! The first course fondue lasted about 3 minutes, and the overpriced salads were about the size of my fist. I mean really? 8 bucks for a handful of lettuce, tomatoes, 3 egg slices and dressing? That would cost me about 3 dollars anywhere else! So sadly, we were in a hurry, and the slow service in these 2 courses(and of course the small portions) were a bit frustrating, but I understand if your meal is designed to be 4 courses, they should be small… As we are getting the check, I am thinking, small courses, only 2 things and 1 mixed drink… maybe 15 – 20 bucks… 25 max! WRONG!!! FORTYDOLLARS!!! I will type that again a different way for those who can’t read(but if you’re reading this, you obviously can) 40 $!!! You’re kidding me!!! In essence, that 40 $ bought us one shot of hard liquor in her mixed drink, a cup and a half of various cheeses, and two salads that I could have eaten in 5 bites each easily… So I have to say, after the slow service and high tab, I just can’t recommend this to anyone. In fact, the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1, is because of Dan… If you are reading this bro, VERY well done. I know you can’t control the kitchen or the wet bar, so I don’t hold you responsible… All-in-all, probably the first and last time I will ever go there…
