We were blown away by Triangle Catering at the Cotton Room open house and decided to spend almost double our budget to go with them. Everything was great during planning then came our wedding day… if I didn’t know any better, I could have sworn a different catering company showed up. We had a custom dinner and dessert menu that we planned with them. While the food on the buffet was good and we had no major issues, we had several issues with hors d’oeuvres and dessert. Their«Pork Puppies» are meant to be their specialty and they were amazing at the open house. They are supposed to be at least two bites big but ours were definitely one bite and we didn’t get any barbecue sauce. They were dry and disappointing. My guests are now asking me what happened with those since we talked them up so much beforehand. Two of our wedding guests(another engaged couple) came with us to the open house and they were very shocked with the difference. When my husband and I emailed Michelle and our sales girl with our issues and to let them explain the day after we got back from our honeymoon, we heard no response. Two weeks, three emails, and a phone call later, I finally heard from Michelle. We scheduled a phone call for the next day. She was 15 minutes late calling me and when I asked about my issues, I never once heard an apology, heard many excuses, and then she cut me off and offered to refund some money. I was shocked that they took no responsibility for their poor performance. However, after speaking with several people including other vendor friends of mine, I heard that several other brides have had similar experiences. We also had another engaged couple come with us to the open house and they were very shocked with the difference in the level of quality and service. FYI, the person who runs your event will not be the person you spend your entire engagement planning with. I think this is a major issue and will create major problems. Make sure you ask your caterer upfront who will be there and make sure they are involved the ENTIRE time. Overall, I wish we had gone with a different caterer.
