First visit here and would definitely come back. Enjoyed the burger with the fried green tomatoes, bacon and pimento cheese(can’t recall the name) and curly fries. It’s a win for me when I’m asked how I want my burger cooked and it actually comes out that way! Service was attentive and the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. Definitely worth the walk over from The Courtyard hotel!

One of my favorite restaurants for lunch. They have a great selection of foods. I have always been pleased with my orders and service. Would have given 5 stars, but they no longer have my favorite, gringo’s revenge!

Wow. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I was legitimately surprised how good the food was. My wife went to the salad bar and loved it. I had a burger whose ground beef was mixed with garlic and rosemary, topped with BBQ and some sort of awesome cheese. Our waiter did a good job and the manager swung by to be sure we were happy. We will be back.

We came in with a party of 8 on Saturday and were seated right away. The atmosphere, food, and service were great. Our youngest got a kid’s meal which had steak, sides, dessert, and drink for $ 6! What a deal. Everyone loved their meal. Highly recommend!

The portions are small. Small plates are served. Same bad service with different people. Service is not good. Décor and prices are good. A lot of nice desserts to eat. And a lot of good eats on the menu. Prices are moderate. And employees not want to write down the order. We had to ask them to do it. Service is slow. They did write it down. Talk back rude and rush to get rid of, interrupt and talk back rude, yell at. Walk away while waiting on us. And we had to ask a lot of times to come back and finish the job. Eat while wait on us. Got angry at us not a tip. We not get good service. We not order much food. Not been there for sometime. The tables are average. And the seats are average.

I thought I would love this place, but I didn’t. The food was average, but pricey. The service was adequate, if a bit slow, and the salad bar is too large to enjoy without multiple trips which are charged extra. Did I say this place was pricey for what it offers? The baby backs were tough considering it is a specialty item and their burger was good, but overly sized for the bun. It also wasn’t as spicy as it could/should have been. The good? Beers are $ 3. Go here for drinks, but skip on the food. Definitely not worth it.

Very enjoyable lunch with friends. I had the veggie burger and I started with coleslaw. The veggie burger was delicious as was the stuff that came with it. The coleslaw on the other hand was dripping with mayo and gross. I quickly asked the waiter to take it back and I got the macaroni and cheese. This was to die for. One diner had a big burger with lots of stuff on it and loved it. Other friend had fish and chips and portion was so large, she took some home. We had great service and a very enjoyable lunch.

Our waitress was really nice. The food was quite good. However, they were out of a few items that we wanted to order. And this was at 6 o’clock in the evening? They really could use a few more gluten-free items and choices including at least one gluten-free beer with such a selection of other beers. Pizza is awesome(if you are not gluten-free.).

Had the best experience, 3 $ beers and awesome sides and apps. On top of all that Vickie is the best bartender. Attentive, insightful and fun. See you again soon. And for lunch on the weekdays because the wait is perfect and the food is great.

Great staff! The environment could use some more lighting. As for the food it could be better. I had the Memphis dry rub ribs and the flavor was very much lacking. There’s room for improvements but one thing they do have going is the friendly and professional staff.

It’s been a long time since it eaten here and in my opinion the food is not as good as it used to be. Husband had the French dip and I had the fried chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly however the breeding lacked flavor some salt and garlic would go a long way here. I subbed the collards for the green beans, best thing on my plate. French dip is good but we used to rave about this dish to our friends. Nice atmosphere and our bartender Vicki was very attentive.

Since Twisted Fork’s reopen I have been back a few times and I am now torn on the current state of things here. Their pizza options are a good addition, the burgers and sandwiches are all great, and most of the entrees are good. However, their ribs are horribly overcooked, their brunch options are all boring or bad, and they got rid of my favorite side dish, the blue cheese potato cakes. Also, the bakery case has been moved to where all the waiters pick up their dishes, so it is not a good place for people to look and there is no longer a cash register there for easy to-go baked goods.

It has been a while since I visited Twisted Fork but I finally had the opportunity to make it out that way! Started off with a Trophy Best in Show and Mom went with a Mother Earth Weeping Willow Wit. $ 3 pints ALL day, EVERY day! What an amazing deal! I was most disappointed to see that my favorite appetizer was no longer on the menu, sad face. Please bring back the Dip Sampler, it was so amazing and delicious! My favorites were the Crab Cake and Brie, Apple and Bacon dips. So, we decided to go with an order of Honey Pecan Shrimp which were just okay. Entrees: I went with the Southern Fried Chicken and Mom went with the Ribeye and instead of Fries a side of Mac & Cheese. The Pimento Mac & Cheese was bomb! I also thought the fried chicken tasted good and it came with a side of green beans. Unfortunately the Ribeye was not cooked well or worth the price, in my opinion. I personally enjoy sitting at one of the booths in the bar area when I visit so I can watch TV and enjoy my meal.

We started with the loaded fries and they were great. I had fish and chips. The fish was a bit too greasy, but still good. My husband had the pulled pork and chicken combo and raved about it. Our daughter had the kids cheeseburger and ate all of it, which she never does. Don’t leave without desert. The carrot cake is awesome. The service was a perfect pace. Thank you!

What a gem! We were traveling with a family member who is a ‘local’ and he had heard great things about this restaurant, so we popped in for lunch today. So happy we did! Our server was Jessica and she was outstanding! Not only was she happy and genuinely friendly, she was also very accommodating! My husband and I are both on Weight Watchers and very near goal. We wanted to have a lunch that was within our low point allowance. We were not disappointed! Jessica allowed us to split an entrée(rubbed turkey)… and have a salad for one ‘side’ as well as adding a salad bar to our entrée. She promptly brought us 2 salad bowls for the salad bar and my husband and I both headed over to the salad bar. The choices were healthy and tasty! I was even able to get a bowl of fresh honeydew and a bowl of red grapes… in addition to my FULL salad bowl! My husband was able to sample several of the tasty ‘prepared’ salads and he had plenty of healthy choices from which to choose. The turkey was tender, perfectly spiced and melted in our mouth. We couldn’t pass up the fried okra, even though we had to use our extra ‘weekly points’ to stay on program. :) Our other lunch guest enjoyed the ‘breakfast’ burger that was a special for the day. He, too, raved about the burger AND the sweet potato nuggets side dish. The General Manager, Jourdan, came by our table to see how our meal was… and he stayed a moment and engaged us in conversation. He is a ‘hands-on’ General Manager and also very friendly, attentive and focused on each guest having a wonderful meal/experience. We loved the entire experience!

Always a good meal the collard greens are seasoned perfectly and cooked correctly not tough. I had BBQ short rib it was mouth watering tender and seasoned just right. The sweet potato tots were delicious and usually I am not a fan. All in all a great meal with terrific service.

While this review does not address the food, it is about their customer service and reservation policy. My wife and I had plans to visit our daughter and son-in-law in Raleigh and were making plans for dinner. I went online(to Unilocal Reservations) and was asked to enter a credit card to complete the reservation… the catch was that my card would be charged $ 20PERPERSON for a cancellation in less than 24 hours… well since I was trying to make this 22 hours out I was in that window… so if for some reason our plans changed and we would not travel to Raleigh, I would be out $ 80 for a dinner I never attended. NOWAY… So I called to see what would happen with a direct call… $ 20 with a 48 hour cancellation. So I tried to talk to Jourdan, the Manager, but he was :“busy” so the assistant manager talked to me. I was then told I would be charged if I did a «No Show.» With all conflicting conditions I took my business elsewhere… Valentines weekend, they will have no problem filling a table if I did a no show on them… Bye Bye Twisted Fork… sorry.

All I have to say is Vicky… I came in had a glass of wine and an appetizer and mentioned what I would eat on my next visit… After doing some shopping I decided that I was hungry. I returned to the restaurant where Vicki told my waitress what my name is and what i wanted to eat. I was just tickled pink about her attention to detail and get memory. Everyone was nice but she stuck out the most. PS the cream and crab soup is to die for.

First visit since the reopening.(Sunday after church lunch). The new menu includes pizza, smoked bbq, large sandwiches and burgers. My guest had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and pimento mac n cheese. I selected from the burger menu, which has lots of interesting combinations. My choice was the«meat sweats»: the pattie was a pork/bacon blend with peppered bacon, pepperoni, and habanero cheddar cheese. You do have the choice of any protein, such as black bean, ground chuck or the«twisted blend»(cheddar, garlic, herbs.) As my side I ordered grits. Server was friendly and helpful with the new menu. She let us know of the new options as well as favorites that remained on the menu. My guest likes decaffeinated coffee, which sometimes causes a delay in her first cup arriving or in getting refills. Pleased to say our server kept her coffee cup filled. Food was brought to the table with minimal wait time. Both the pulled pork sandwich and my burger were large portions. I had to do the Guy Fieri(Diners, Drive Ins and Dives) «stance» to attack that large burger! Loved the flavor of the«Meat Sweats». Was worried about the habanero cheddar cheese but it added just the right amount of heat. Great combination of flavors. I had ordered the grits in a previous visit, and they were just as delicious this visit. My guest enjoyed her ample sized pulled pork sandwich. I had to sneak a bite of her pimento mac and cheese, and like its unique flavors. I did notice in the new design the bar area has been changed to be out of view from the rest of the facility. Not sure if the second floor is not in use or was not in use during my visit. From our table I could see the chairs up on the tables of the second floor and found that to be a bit distracting. If it isn’t being used, at least don’t make it look so from the first floor dining area. Think Twisted Fork has lots of interesting menu options and I hope to return and try more of them.(I still think the name implies pasta dishes — wish they had some of them available!)

This was my first time and it was amazing. They just reopened from remodeling after a kitchen fire and the ambiance is awesome. They have the bar area completely separated from the restaurant so it’s great if you have kids. The atmosphere is also really relaxed to have such high quality food and service. I had the almost famous burger with a gluten free bun and I was surprised how great the entire thing was. I actually have a gluten intolerance and don’t just eat gluten free because it’s a fad and I can say this is the best gluten free bun I have ever had. The pork and bacon braided patty was very juicy and the combination of apple butter, brie, and bacon was off the charts. I’m sadly only in Raleigh for a short time but if I return to the area I will definitely eat here again!

We went to the Twisted Fork on the day after it reopened post fire. The menu is changed and simplified and what I almost would categorize as «Pub Food», concentrating on burgers, pizza, BBQ, sandwiches and a wide array of beers. There are a few exceptions such as a ribeye steak and grilled salmon. We both had one of the exceptions– bacon wrapped shrimp & grits. While the shrimp were modest in size, they were very tasty, well prepared and plentiful. The service was excellent and we had a great waiter– Cameron. We do plan on returning frequently especially since they still offer my all time favorite Twisted cookie.

This place is pretty good. The salad bar is usually my selection, and they have a nice spread. $ 3 pints don’t hurt either, and they will fill up growlers for you as well.

All beers are $ 3! This place is right around the corner from my house, which means I am here a lot. They have a really great selection of draft beer, and they offer growlers so you can get your beer to go! We always sit in the bar area, either at the bar or in one of the roomy bar booths, and have always received very good service. Management checks in with each table to ensure everything is up to par. Sadly, my favorite entrée(pork tacos with pimento cheese) is no longer on the menu, but they have other solid options. The food is on the pricier side, but contains quality ingredients. I’m still working to try to find my(new) go to entrée here, but the daily specials always seem to be good! I wish they stayed open later on weekends.

My daughter and I went to the Twisted Fork for our weekly dessert date. You can read the full review here along with pictures and more. We loved it! The dessert was outstanding. The display case which showcases everything they have to offer was beautiful and they had plenty of options. Not sure if everything there is home made or if they have someone who supplies, but it was great. Plenty of options for the indecisive. It’s also very kid friendly.

Pretty darn average and a majority of the stars are for the setting. It’s quite impressive with the two story ceilings and winding staircase and it reminded me of a night club though I imagine most night clubs don’t feature a sprawling salad bar. The salad bar was expansive but I really don’t do salad bars. Maybe because I’m still grossed out from when Wendy’s used to have them. But you’re in luck if that’s your thing though. It took a little while for someone to help us but he was attentive after that. The kids kept him busy with refills. I tried a cocktail but it was so sweet I couldn’t finish much of it. I had the smoked turkey club and found it rather dry and bland. It didn’t have much sauce to bring it together so I actually used my salad dressing from my side salad to give it some taste. This should not be! My husband had the BBQ and was also disappointed. But he is pretty picky about his ‘cue. The kids don’t really care-they just love going out to eat. I don’t see any reason to go back here especially since it’s kind of a haul for us unless they decide to do a 80s night dance.

This place is kind of hidden away but an excellent spot to grab a beer after work or dinner with the family. Kids eat free 4 – 6. Small menu but everything is good. Nice beer selection and all the pints are $ 3 even the high gravity beers. And you can get growlers to go from the beers on tap from the local breweries. Overall can’t go wrong here unless you hate beer, bacon, or desserts.

One word, Yummy! They have steaks cooked to order, chicken dishes you didn’t think were possible, and desserts that are homemade and beyond belief. I would recommend you try the BBQ pork with their house sauce located on every table. While the sauce pairs well with pork, it can tastefully be added to chicken and other things like their fried okra. If you don’t try the Mac and Cheese, you are MISSINGOUT! By far the best I’ve had anywhere. Carb-a-licious! Their bar selection is vast and very affordable with most beers in the 3 dollar range. Hard to beat! The bathrooms are very clean and kept in working order, and the dining area is huge with options that include outdoor patio spaces under the umbrellas. Shopping after the meal is a must, and easy to do as this is located in the heart of the shopping plaza. Great food, great service, and they use OPENTABLE for easy reservations.

I have been so hoping to be wowed by this place since it is conveniently close to home, and am happy to report that both of us have now been wowed. Wow 1: $ 3.00 pints every day! I had a killer Deep River Stout that was smooth and robust. Loved it. Husband had a couple Ambers that he really liked. Wow 2: Husband declared his Brisket Steak Sandwich to maybe be the best steak sandwich he’s ever had. And believe me he’s had a LOT of them over the years in a LOT of places. He said the meat was lean, and he loved the peppers, onions, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese sauce on it. Wow 3: My Beer Can Chicken! I do believe this is the best bbq chicken I have ever had. I was told it is a 72-hour process of brining, smoking and then grilling… they don’t skimp on the fantastic bbq sauce… it’s lathered on, and let me tell you, it’s finger-lickin’ perfection! I chose to have some of their amazing collards(possibly the best collards I’ve ever had as well), along with the pimento mac and cheese, which is good, but maybe lacking just slightly the same umph as the other items. Wow 4: I have half of mine left for another meal, and am very much looking forward to those leftovers!(too bad for Husband, he ate all his). Wow 5: The service… excellent Server, and we were also checked on by the Manager who seemed to really care. Wow 6 and a GREATTIP: Get on Rocky Top Hospitality’s email list. What brought us in this weekend was a coupon they sent for BOGO this weekend. I am very grateful for that email, as it led us to this tasty experience that I know we will want to repeat!

Had a party of seven and seated in the bar area. Service was good and I enjoyed my salmon with sweet potatoes and sautéed green beans but felt it was a bit over priced as it did not include salad. At $ 14, thought they could at least include a bit of rabbit food but you can add on salad bar for an extra $ 5. After perusing the salad bar, I wasn’t tempted to indulge. The calamari app we shared was good. Shrimp taco was supposed to be blackened and came with cheese and was left mostly uneaten. Others enjoyed huge cheeseburgers, fried chicken and steak. Wouldn’t be my first choice to come back.

Everything I had was pretty good. I went here with a group of girlfriends we met here while we all were in town visiting friends. Nice atmosphere, it was nice they had a salad bar you could add to your meal. It had a lot of veggies up there, only meat on there was bacon. Also had fruit, and yogurt up there to have. I tried the French Dip with fries and I would get it again it was delicious, but just a little pricey, it was $ 12. Also, two of the girls decided to get the same dessert the Tia Maria Cake. It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! I’m not a fan of Kahlua but it had it in the frosting I believe it was really good. They give you a huge slice, with strawberries and chocolate on the plate. I had a bite of it, and to be honest I should’ve got one myself. Next time I’m back in town I would go again!

I was a bit confused by this place… the design seemed to say one thing and the menu another. It really looks like it should be serving New American rather than Southern style food. My visual dissonance aside, the food ranged from«great» to «inedible». I had the Brunswick Stew to start. It was very good. I had jambalaya as my entrée and that was ridiculously tasty. My one friend had barbecue chicken which had a weird texture and seemed underdone. Another pal had the fried chicken and one piece was way too dark. The chocolate lava cake at the end was as hard as a rock. I mean a really hard rock, not one of those softer rocks you see. Service was friendly. This isn’t an awful place but with all the choices in Raleigh, I don’t think I’d come back. Oh, and don’t wear anything you don’t immediately want to wash or take to the cleaners. You will reek of barbecue once you leave the place. My coat still smells like it a week later.
