Consistently receive terrible customer service here. None of the workers look like they care to be there. I worked at a Zaxbys for 4 years while in High School, so I know how Zaxby’s expects its workers to act. Management should push their cashiers to provide excellent customer service as their attitude is a reflection of the managers ability to do their job. Poor service, but two stars because the food is okay.

This @Zaxbys location is on the corner of the NCSU campus, easy to access. I really enjoy the food, they have great chicken wings, fries, and tenders. I generally get the Wingz ‘n Things, which comes with buffalo wings, tenders, fries, and toast. You can pick which flavor sauce you want, and also which dipping sauce you want. They do have an email club which tells you about specials, and gives you a birthday freebie. #396

I went to Zaxby’s and got the House Zalad with fried chicken tenders and lite ranch dressing. The salad was huge, a lot bigger than I was expecting. They also load you up with chicken tenders as well. There were at least 3 – 4 chicken tenders on it. All of the lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and tomato tasted relatively fresh and the crispy onion strings gave it a nice crunchiness. The Texas toast was good and buttery. The lite ranch tasted ok, but they at least give you two packets considering the size of the salad. Overall, the portion size was huge and there’s plenty of chicken. But compared to Chic-fil-a, their salads are more unique and taste better, but Zaxby’s is a decent salad.

This is not a review of the Zaxbys franchise, but only this particular Zaxbys. Walking in floors were dirty and my order was taken by a rude cashier. As I went to fill my drink, the sweet tea was empty and the soda machine had very few options. Waited for food for 23 minutes, along with many others. Food was hot and good, what a relief

Eek is right. I’ve only been to Zaxby’s twice in my life and though it was unremarkable I don’t remember it being this terrible. With just a few minutes to grab a quick bite while on the road I pulled in after seeing it on my way for a meeting. Some how I justified it to myself that Zaxby’s was a better choice then say McDonald’s but here I was wrong. I went through the drive thru and ordered a kids finger meal and waited and waited for it to come out. They did mention it would be a few minutes on the fingers. Still a little strange since this is a chicken joint and that’s what they serve right? Finally after getting my kids meal I pulled out a chicken finger and took a bite this is where it went bad. Yuck gross yes the chicken was hot but I’m not even sure it was cooked. I’m assuming it’s frozen already cooked and thrown in the fryer, well I sure hope so after one more bite of this chewy disaster I gave up, but stupid me maybe the 2nd finger would be better right? No I think they undercooked them both or they are just always that chewy and gross. Fries were edible so that was saving my growling tummy. I’m really glad I wasn’t serving this meal to a child. Fast food I think of as a real treat and this was just one big mistake. Why would you even think of Zaxby’s when you have Bojangles? I’ll stick with Bo and Chic-fil-A for my fast food chicken fix.

As occasional Duke Josh, I rule this Zaxby’s. Did this Zaxby’s rule for me? Sometimes. Zaxby’s is a direct competitor of Chickfila — centered around higher quality fast food featuring chicken. And the chicken here is of pretty good quality — you’re looking at real meat, not the Frankensteinian nuggets of other places. Pick from tenders, wings, «Zalads,» as well as myriad other options, ranging from jalapeño poppers to various desserts. My favorite thing to order was first suggested to me 5 years ago — Wings and Things. Wings and Things comes with boneless/bone-in wings, chicken tenders, fries, and celery. It also comes with exactly one Zax Sauce and exactly one Ranch or Bleu Cheese(25 cents for another no matter what). Wing sauces here aren’t particularly good. I always go with Insane(the spiciest that they have), since none of the others taste particularly good. Insane here isn’t as crazy as the spiciest at Wing Zone or Buffalo Wild Wings. All of the other sauces are below average for wing places and are never sufficiently applied. I have had a few problems with the service here. This Zaxby’s runs out of things fairly consistently, and nobody begins to think about caring about the customer. I am a very big sauce person, and could not believe that they didn’t have ketchup for my fries one night. They, of course, didn’t warn me about this before I ordered. I asked if they could give me any other sauces, and the guy at the register sneered and gave a hard nosed 25 cents or nothing approach. Whatever. 2.5 stars — This hard nosed attitude towards sauces automatically puts Zaxby’s below Chickfila. Factor in the consistently terrible service at this store, and it’s significantly worse than Chickfila. Unfortunately, the location is ridiculously convenient, and I’ll almost certainly eat here quite a few more times before the end of my time at NC State.

Nothing outstanding, nothing terrible. It’s a Zaxby’s. If you’re not familiar with the franchise, it’s worth checking out. Their Zax Sauce is pretty killer. I usually opt for a salad. I prefer the house, but I get it without cheese and light fried onions. That way, there is some slight lowering of calories and fat. Usually when I come here, the employees are adequate. About what you’d expect in a fast food environment. They’re there to take an order and give you your food, that’s about it. Restaurant is relatively clean. They do send an employee around often to check the tables. That’s a nice thing to see. I’ll come back, for sure.

I had heard lots of great things about Zaxby’s but never tried. I think I might have been expecting too much. The strips were not bad but they also did not blow me away either. I will eat there again but this time with lowered expectations. They have grape soda on tap.

I was told that my life would be forever changed and my mind blown by indulging in the Chicken in Toast sandwich(I forget the name). It was good, A-OK. The restaurant was clean, the staff was mostly patient while I searched the menu for the fabled item. The food came out, quick, fast, and hot. It was better than standard fare. Before I left I ordered some fired pickles as a snack for the rest of the group I was meeting. We all found them too salty, wishing the batter was a bit thicker and adhered better to the pickle(a challenge, indeed), and the pickle had a stronger taste and crunch. For the cost and calories, I would rather get something I enjoy more — which has to do more with the food than this location. If I am hungry and in a pinch, I’ll revisit this and try the sandwich again, if I can remember its name…

I stopped for a house salad with grilled chicken for lunch to EAT-IN. I received my order in a TO-GO box. Off to a bad start, the lettuces was almost as warm as the chicken was cold. The lettuce had obviously been setting out for some time. I used to eat at the Raleigh or Garner locations once a week, now that the Cary location has opened, I eat here at least once or twice most weeks, so much better! I have ordered many fresh salads fro the Cary location. They come in a chilled bowl and crispy lettuces that was just mixed together with many great fixings and a hot piece of grilled or fried chicken cut up in bit sized chunks. Love the Texas toast also. Zaxby’s is a chain restaurant but with a very big difference in the franchised owners.
