Best Mexican food in Ramona. Don’t be fooled by this place’s small appearance; they make delicious food. I come here regularly. Also, when I was talking about this place with my Hispanic friend from Ramona, he commented, «OHTHATPLACE!!! It’s even better than my Grandma’s home cooking!» Go here. You won’t regret it.

CA Chips, so delicious. Just came a couple days ago and definitely coming back for more. They actually cook their meat really good, explains why drive thru takes a bit longer. Worth the wait!

Visited 3÷16÷2016 This Review is only based on a quick stop for a Breakfast Burrito. First the service was polite and fast. My food came quickly and nice and hot. Its $ 6.00 for the Steak & Egg Breakfast Burrito. Its a nice large burrito and loaded with lots Eggs and Lots of steak. Its seasoned nicely too. It was one of the best fast food Breakfast Burritos I’ve had in a long time. For that reason I give this place 4 Stars. I Will give this place another try soon.

Absolutely horrible. I used to love this place when they first opened but they have gone downhill since. They don’t understand English notated how clearly you tell them the order. They charge for sour cream and don’t put it on your order. Went this morning and took 20 mins in the drive through for 3 breakfast burritos. Do not recommend unless your getting food at 2 am.

TERRIBLE. I have been going here since I moved up here 4 years ago and lately I’ve seen poor quality. I asked for my fries crispy on my carne sada fries and they didn’t even cook them longer. They charged me an ILLEGALDEBIT card fee, which none of the works could explain to me as why I would be charged and notified them it was illegal. They didn’t seem to care a bit. I don’t plan on returning to here anymore because of the serious lack of customer service.

I’ve had good food here but on August 212015 I went in and my flan had mold in it. She couldn’t tell me how it could happen. Gross. Now I don’t trust this place.

I used to LOVE this place above all others! Their Carne and Polo Asada used to be incredible. The polo was grilled and had an really good flavor, the Carne was crispy and had even better flavor. This was such a good shop I had them cater a party and got massive amounts of both. People who never ate there were all impressed with how good the food was. The last several times(as others have noted) the size of the burritos has been shrinking). I understand the cost may go up but this is ridiculous. The taste and flavor has been loosing it as well. Hit or miss. However the last time(and this is the last time I ever go) I got a burrito and the pico or guac or meat or something was rancid. Just terrible. I threw up in my mouth on the first bite and spit the nasty garbage out. Right down the road you can get a burrito 3 times the size and quality of this place. I’m done being loyal and moving on. So sad that all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately for this Taco Shop the end is a complete disaster.

I come here a lot; often several times a week. I find the food to be consistent and of good quality, and the service is also consistently friendly. The young manager guy is just exceptional. He really makes you feel welcome. Ramona has lots of very good Mexican restaurants. This is my favorite on the west side.

This review is based on my most recent experience although I’ve eaten here well over 10 times. I ordered a mixed burrito(stewed beef with beans) and although the flavor was good, it was the smallest burrito I’ve gotten from ANY taco shop in over 10 years. They have a note taped to the cashier window about raising the prices but I guess there wasn’t room to tell about the severely reduced portion sizes. Look, I don’t need a five-pound belly bomb to fill me up but I know what I am used to getting and they don’t have it. The price was $ 5.67 with tax which is just a little higher than average for a simple burrito. Most shops sell the same burrito, at least 50% larger, for just under $ 5. There are too many(way too many) choices in Ramona to tolerate this shit. See you at Mananas!

You would think this place has amazing food due to the long line they have in their drive thru all the time. But that’s just because they’re service is SOOO slow! Hope you’re not starving cuz it’s gonna be a long wait with them. The food ehh it’s good on a pinch. Definitely gonna move on to another establishment for Mexican food. Ugh and to add insult to waiting they charge you a $.35 for using card!!!

Very slow, but faster than Mananas up the street. They charge an illegal credit card usage fee, so be ready for that. Food is okay, not authentic. More of a crappy version of authentic, but its good for Ramona.

I think I ate in all of the restaurants in this shopping center. This place is average for a taco shop. It will never match any taco shop with a Bertos in the name, but it sure as he’ll beats Taco Bell. I would recommend you stick with standard taco shop fare. Clean and fast though.

Place was great when I was drinking. Now that I’m driving through while sober, it’s just getting more and more obvious that either I made some really poor choices in my past, or their quality is decreasing rapidly. Just a few days ago, I decided to get a California burrito with rice instead of french fries. What I got was some carne asada and guac with a mound of pasty white goo at the bottom. When I looked closely, it was old, unseasoned rice, like what you would get if you cleaned out of the bottom of a rice steamer and then made soup out of it. On the plus side, this time they got my order right. I don’t know what kept me coming back. I think the nostalgia of it, the memories I have of going through with my friends years ago, was the driving force. Their prices definitely couldn’t be, as they are not any better than the other shops, despite having much smaller burritos in comparison to Salsa’s or La Cocina. Actually, I think the only reason there is to go to Los Rancheros anymore is that it has a drive-thru. Fortunatly, so does Mananas and Mi Ranchita, both restaurants that, while def not on the top, are not anywhere near this terrible. To top all of that off, the customer service is just awful. With the exception of one guy, who is great, the service is just bad. They don’t tell you your total until you get to the window, they get the orders wrong, and they don’t make eye contact or talk to you beyond taking your money and giving you your food. It’s just window open, slam window shut. In short: Incorrect orders of barely edible food in skimpy quantities, with no customer service at all apart from one guy who is rarely there. Only go there if you have no choice what-so-ever.

I ordered a ham, egg and cheese Breakfast Burrito, and the eggs were beyond overcooked and nasty, and there were maybe 6 little pieces of ham inside, and hardly any cheese. It was a nasty frickin burrito.

What a crap place! Okay, check this out… I order a carne asada burritos and the cashier lady tells me $ 5.60. I give her my credit card and I see the charge is $ 6.02. I ask why I was getting charged more than the price she just gave me 20 seconds ago and she tells me that it is for a credit card transaction fee. I said, «What transaction fee?» Then, the cashier lady slides the take-out window closed, which suddenly revealed this credit card transaction fee… ROTFL. It was hidden entirely when I ordered AND I was uninformed about it when I gave the cashier my credit card. By the way, this transaction fee is against credit card policies! You cannot charge the customer a transaction fee, nor have a minimum spent when accepting credit cards. When a merchant takes credit cards, they sign an agreement saying that they will not charge a transaction fee! Also, per California Civil Code, section 1748.1(a), is clearly states that a merchant cannot charge a consumer a transaction fee in lieu of using cash. This place also asked for my ID on my credit card transaction!

I ate the shrimp burrito which was yummy. I also had the seven seas soup which is awesome, but the WTH moment was the rolled tacos, no meat at all, a rolled up fried tortilla with sour cream, guac and a bit of cheese. I always get thrown off with the drive through restaurants because it takes time to prepare a delish Mexican dish so I was not surprised when I had to go around, park and wait. I look forward to coming her again and trying what else they got.

My favorite Mexican place in Ramona! I’m always looking for a great spicy shrimp burrito and theirs is the best in town! Just order the Diabla Burrito. I always have them add in cilantro and onions and minus the sour cream and they are happy to oblige. As mentioned in another review below, the owners son, Huey, is a class act! He knows my order and welcomes me by name at the intercom! Love it! He doesn’t always work there, but his polite and courteous manner is refreshing. I also really love a great breakfast burrito and, again, they do not disappoint. The key, for me, to a great breakfast burrito are the potatoes and theirs are perfectly done! They are 24 hours once again and I strongly urge you to give them a try! Oh ya, when you get there, stick to the right. There is a left path way that leads to a window but its not used for taking orders.

Does hunger make you do weird things? Once the hunger sets in I get panicky and desperate. Not knowing a thing about this place I decided to grab something via the drive thru. Pulling up I was a bit confused. It looks like you can turn a few different ways but I would stick to the right. When it was my turn I was surprised by all the options. I could choose from many combo plates and even order a fried whole tilapia. A fried whole tilapia at a drive thru place! Think of it! So what magical, crazy, out of his world item did I order to astound and shock you with? Did I get the whole fried fish, shrimp burrito, and one of every tostada? No. I got a bean burrito. You read it correctly. I was all the way in Ramona, hungry, at an intriguing little Mexican drive thru and I ordered a bean burrito. Like I said. Hunger makes me do weird things. The bean burrito was $ 3.20. I thought this was a lot since it was just beans and cheese. However the portion size was large and it was one of the best bean and cheese burritos this girl has ever faced in her car listening to old time radio. The beans were flavorful and the cheese wasn’t overwhelming but went perfectly. The tortilla was quality and I could taste a bit of butter. Yum! I also tried both the red and green salsas and they were very good. Added flavor and a bit of spice to make it truly an enjoyable meal. I ate one half later for dinner and it was still surprisingly yummy. If you have occasion to come here try it out. They are open 24 hours and you could do a lot worse.

4 instead of 5 stars due to mild inconsistency with regards to burrito content. This is a lovely establishment with outdoor only eating, and exceptional customer service. They’re willing to replace poorly made burritos, and bathrooms are clean.

The Carne asada at this place is well cooked and not chewy like you’ll find at some taco shops, the food portions are average and so are the prices, I’d suggest trying the Carne asada fries they are very good here, and the service is absolutely amazing and it is why I give them preference over the many local taco shops.
