I looked in the mirror this morning at the gym. My pants fit tighter than they should. The belt doesn’t hang down loosely like it did last summer. I decided one thing was for certain. I need to redefine my relationship with food. KInd of like, view it as… maybe not a root canal, but a tooth cleaning. Something you don’t like to do but you have to do it, and you try to do it on a less frequent than more frequent basis. So I Unilocaled this place. So much negativity. It must suck. That’s what I need. Terrible, unappetizing food. Turns out I came to the wrong place. The ambiance of this place is very nice. We’re not talking about ‘ambiance’ in the sense of it being housed in a 3,000 year old marble building structure, rather, it’s nicely set up, classy, clean, well kept up. Well it was just constructed last week. Okay maybe a little longer but not much. The appearance is upscale. It’s someplace where you can lounge around, have a few drinks, eat some food, and they even have a bar. They have hamburgers on the menu. Someone rated the hamburger low. I like hamburgers. Why the hell would you order a hamburger at a kabob place. I like seafood too. I don’t order the seafood when I’m at a steak place. I don’t order the steak at a seafood place. Aside from the primary reason for coming here, which was a failure, the secondary reason was that I could get a salad, and have shrimp on it. That… now that… was a success! The other lunch person ordered a dolma platter. I was expecting some tiny salad with wilted greens and bits of chest hair topped with two or three tiny shrimp. What I got was a fairly large salad of romaine, onion, tomato, cucumber, olives, feta and pepperocini, topped with a quite a lot of shrimp. It was quite good. The dressing was a balsamic vinegar in olive oil. Normally I like that stuff tossed in the salad, but it came in a little square cup. It worked. The only thing I would have liked a little different is for the tomato and the olives to be cut up a little more. They were kind of big pieces. I spied some kabob plates. They looked pretty good to me, on par with a competitor’s kabob places. I can’t comment on a kabob because I didn’t have a kabob. They looked good enough that I will try a kabob. I tried a dolma. It wasn’t bad but I’m an ‘I’ll have a dolma as an appetizer’ person. I think that one was a bit overpriced for what it was. The salad was a decent deal. Oh, oh, and the other thing is that the server came out and offered some freshly made soup to eat while waiting. On the house. That was a nice touch. And you’re ordering from a Greek goddess(sans the white flowing robe), not not some big hairy guy that looked like he was recently in a wrestling match with a camel, and possibly won. The bottom line is I give this place a go.

I absolutely love it here, I came in for lunch and ordered the philly cheese steak(amazing). The prices are reasonable and the portions are large, I always take some home. I highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner.

Walked in and we were seated right away on Saturday evening. The food was AMAZING! Right down to their tzatzki. I would highly recommend this place to all of my friends and family.

The place is set up strangely… when you walk in you’re not really sure where to go because it’s just such a large studio type of room with no real hostess station. We were slow to get seated, slow for orders… the kitchen was out of the first 3 things we wanted off the menu, slow for refills, slow for the food… the food was alright though. I’ve had better service and food from Café Morocco and Café Europa

I went to this place for the first time because I was in the mood for something new! I ordered some beef and chicken meat and my friends had lamb and rice(which was exquisite!!!) the rice is just to die for because it is so perfectly cooked, not crunchy and not soggy, with an absolutely wonderful flavor! The servers were super nice too! George was super nice(and cute!) and had an answer to every question I had about the menu! The server that replaced him was also very nice. Last but not least the tiramisu was to die for! I will definitely come back soon!

Came here for lunch with a group of 9 co-workers. We got here around 12 on a Friday and expected it to take a long time. I was pleasantly surprised we were able to leave by 12:45. The server was nice and pleasant and really accommodating. The food was delicious, I had the lamb chops lunch and left extremely satisfied.

Came during lunch. Was completely empty at first, but people started filling up the place. Business seems to be picking up. Ordered the Mediterranean Burger and waited a bit long for it to come out. People around me were getting their dishes but mine apparently came out later because fries weren’t done yet. The bun was a bit strange. Not your standard burger bun and was probably toasted since it was a bit hard. Overall, the burger was a bit salty but still edible. Service was decent. Place is okay. Probably not somewhere I would return to often if based on the burger alone.

Overpriced and NO Ambience but if you’re in the area it’s still a decent healthy choice for Lunch. Not a real sensible choice. Don’t go here on a date either, it’s NOT impressive or comfortable. Lots of rice and bread with your meal, don’t expect much meat. The ‘greens and cheese’ plate is fun IF you like to snack like a rabbit. I do, so it worked for me. A tiny bit of feta, mostly bread and herbs, WAY too much green onion. Who eats that raw?

I have been driving by this restaurant for months and have always wanted to try it. I wasn’t sure what to think when reading the reviews, so I decided to try it for myself. My husband and I visited for the first time for a Friday night dinner. We arrived at six and as we walked through the doors we were immediately greeted by a gentleman at the host counter. While there were a few people at the bar, we were the only ones seated in the dinning area. Since it was our first time, our server politely gave us a quick run down of the menu and promptly gave us water. I was pleasantly surprised by the selections and my husband and I took our time reading the menu. By then more patrons arrived and I realized our server was responsible for the entire dining room. Although he was busy, he was still very attentive, personable and took perfect care of us. He also had help from the bartender, who was quick to help out when new people came through the door. My husband ordered jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and had the salmon. I had the lamb chops and we both had the side salad. My husband really liked the jalapeño poppers. The salad was really fresh with crisp lettuce and cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. I like how the dressing comes in a side dish so my fresh veggies aren’t drowning in it. The entrees came quickly and they were delicious! My lamb chops were tender and the rice was very flavorful. There was a generous side of very fresh veggies cooked to perfection. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed our meals and the service was great. We’re glad to have a new neighborhood restaurant to visit!

This place is incredible. The environment is clean and modern. The staff is fantastic. I was offered soup on the house, it was delicious. They have 3TV screens to watch sports. They have a full service bar. The music they play is great! I have eaten here once before the food is fantastic. You should give this place a try and trust me, you can’t go wrong. Happy Holiday’s everyone

My husband and I tried this place on a whim and we keep coming back. We always get the same thing! I get the chicken thigh kebab and my husband gets the pork rib plate and they are perfect every time! The rice is amazing! The chicken thigh kebab is 4 boneless thighs and the rib plate comes with 4 – 5 ribs, the portion is perfect. I love the hummus here and it comes served with cliches pita. This place is relatively new to the area and is pretty slow in the evenings, so if you’re curious… Give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

Came to this restaurant while in town visiting my sister. We were blown away how delicious and big of a portion we got for a lunch combo. Though the place was empty we were not discouraged as we both love Mediterranean/Greek food. We both got the chicken with a side of veggies and of course we asked for a side of tzatziki sauce. I can definitely say I left full and happy, I will be returning here once I’m back in town.

Anyone who has less than 5 is INSANE! Went with my husband on lunch break. The wait is long… FORGOODREASON. The food is fresh! Seriously I love Mediterranean food. This place is THEBEST!!! The chicken kabob was super moist. The best saffron rice ever, and the cucumber salad Delish! I work a block away and was worried to spend so much if it wasn’t good. But wow! I will be going all the time! Just sent my co workers over now!

Came here with the family for a late lunch. Was excited and hungry to try this new restaurant. We live in the area and drive by everyday. Came in was greeted by the by waiter from a distance. The restaurant is designed oddly. There is no hostess check in, and the bar is set in the front center, tables and chairs are scattered throughout the place for diners. As people come in and head to the bar its an odd feeling to have them look at you as you you are inhaling your food. We happened to be the only family dining in the place. There was another couple at the bar eating as well. They left and it was only our family. I thought«Hmmmm, we should get our food fairly quickly then?» After 8−10min of waiting our waiter takes our order. I confirmed with the waiter: Me: my chicken kabob plate comes with a salad, right?! Waiter: Uh, no it doesn’t? Me: Well the Lunch menu clearly states it does? Waiter: I’m not sure why it says that, its only for dinner, that the plate has the salad. I didn’t make the menu. Me: okay… that’s bizarre???(Shaking my head) And after another 30 min of we finally get our food? The food was surprisingly very good. But service was a big flop. My kids divided the marinara and spaghetti 2 meatballs 99cents each I had the ground chicken kabob plate and my hubs had the chicken thigh plate. Although the food was delicious, we will not be returning because of the poor service. What a Bummer… Waiter was a nice guy, but maybe if you order take out you won’t be waiting like we did.

Yuk! What a disappointment. I work close by and came in for lunch with a coworker. We observed two other tables get up and walk out. The service was horrible. The food was super bland and dry. They were out of falafel.

I’m sad to have to make a negative review, but came here to get some good Mediterranean food and was seriously disappointed. First of all the name is a problem; I had to do research to see what they actually serve. Is it bbq? Because it says that on the sign. I joked with that about the waitress and she looked at me sadly, pointed to the picture menu, and said«But it is barbecued.» Yes, dear, technically, but typically well call that kabobs or Mediterranean. The layout is strange; there are a ton of tables and no hostess desk. So anyway I go on to ask the waitress for a glass of Chardonnay and she asks me, «Red or white?» In her defense, it seemed like she was filling in for someone on break or something. The menu is very odd. There was really nothing that worked for me. I wanted a little hummus, a skewer, some falafel, etc but the menu didn’t really offer options. There was hummus but it was $ 6 and came with no pita bread. I left before ordering so I can’t really speak to the food; I went down the street for something better.

My first time going for lunch today. We Ordered lamb chops price $ 20.00. If your craving lamb this is the place. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s a foodie. I work in the area so it was convenient. Only problem was we waited 15 min to get our water and they need more staff on the floor walking around making sure customers are getting drink refills. We are looking forward coming here more often.

Came here with a group of my co-workers and had sat in the patio area. I called ahead of time to make a reservation. They were able to accommodate the amount of people and for outdoor seating. The downfall on the outdoor seating was that they only had one umbrella so more than half of my co-workers had to sit in direct sunlight. Thank goodness the weather wasn’t too hot. SERVER: We only had one server and she did seem overwhelmed. She seemed as if she knew only some of the items on the menu(she knew about the food menu more than the drink menu). Our server tried to be nice, but you can tell that at times, she was getting annoyed with our orders/requests. I think that if we had 2 servers, our server would have been in better spirits. FOOD: It was hard to decide what kind of food to choose from as they had a selection from mediterranean, american and italian. From the pictures on Unilocal,I had decided to try the pork ribs. They came out looking exactly how the picture is on Unilocal(which is awesome) but the ribs fell short. I’m used to falling off the bone ribs and my ribs were tough. My co-worker ordered the same thing and her ribs were more tender than mine. I had to practically use my teeth to rip it off. The rice was amazing! I know rice can sound boring, but this rice had a lot of flavor! I didn’t care for the side vegetables. They had used an herb that I’m not a fond of(it gives me funky after taste). DRINKS: I had ordered a margarita along with my 2 co-workers. My 2 co-workers got their margaritas first and were very unhappy with them. One of my co-workers asked for no salt where the other asked if the margaritas come on the rocks or blended. The server seemed a bit confused and stated that it has ice in it. When they received their margaritas, it came in a martini glass and one of them didn’t come with ice. I had tasted the margarita and you can tell it wasn’t mixed properly. We did find out that they don’t sell hard alcohol yet so they are only able to use 20% tequila. In the end, I didn’t receive my margarita and told them to take it off the bill. Overall experience: For a new restaurant, they did OK. They can definitely use more improvements on training, knowledge and overall customer service. I believe the owner of the place was there and he did a fantastic job talking to us. But I think that if he came out more often to check up on us, I would of had a better experience. I don’t think I will visit again(by myself) but only with my co-workers.

We live in the neighborhood and I would drive by this plaza every day. I was excited to see the signage and that a new non-chain restaurant was coming to the area. I had really high hopes for this place especially since I love Middle Eastern food. This place is pretty big and I don’t think they did a very good job with the layout. The waiters just stand all the way in the back at the bar. So when you walk in you awkwardly stand waiting for someone to notice you and walk all the way to the front to greet you. Our waiter was pretty good but once we got our food he was nowhere to be found. We had to flag someone else down for water and to-go boxes. Ok now the food, which is the whole reason for my poor rating. We ordered the chicken and the filet mignon. The beef was undercooked and chewy. How could you do that to filet mignon? My chicken was quite dry as well. The food was underwhelming.

«Restaurant! BBQ! Bar! Grill!» All claims by Green Olive’s trusty sign announcing their presence to the nearby neighborhood in Rancho. So what exactly do they serve, you may ask? Well…kabobs. Not exactly the first impression I got from their sign, but yes, Green Olive’s does serve Mediterranean kabobs and appetizers. Another surprise comes as you walk in and experience the spacious and fancy interior. Definitely not what I was expecting upon hearing«BBQ/Bar/Grill» but indeed a pleasant surprise. There is a full bar, though, and you can choose to sit at the bar or at one of the many tables. Their menu consists of primarily kabob entrees, which come with a salad, and sides of vegetables and saffron rice. Appetizers include hummus and falafel(although they were out of hummus when we arrived). Oddly enough, there are also Italian dishes if you’re not feeling the Mediterranean vibe that night. I ordered the chicken breast kabob plate, and we shared a falafel appetizer. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and though it did not seem like a lot of food, we were definitely pretty full afterwards. There is, however, a disproportionate amount of rice in comparison to everything else on the plate(it was quite tasty though). Also, the falafel was warm, crispy, and delicious, but only came with 5 balls for a price of $ 7.99, and the waiter caused them to lose their nice stacked formation when bringing it over to our table. As for service, our waiter was very attentive, but didn’t refill our water or ask if I needed a box or wanted dessert, which I overheard him ask another table. The«fancy» feeling in the restaurant was a little awkward, since we had expected it to be more casual. It felt a little empty as well, with so many tables and a lack of decorations on the walls. However, for a new business, it wasn’t a bad first impression — I’ll be back when those falafel cravings hit…
