Our third time here in the past month, great food. Six of us had the rib chop, what a great steak, the other two had fish. Not one issue, our waitress was great, second time we had her, great service — never had an empty glass of water or tea. We’ll be back in two weeks, can hardly wait for the rib chop!!! PS, my little dog Rudy loves the bone!!!

This establishment doesn’t even deserve any star’s. With that being said, I was very disappointed it was my Mother in law & my Birthday we never been to a fancy place like that. The server brought the steaks out forgot to bring my bake potatoes out with dinner they forgot my wife’s Salad. It was very hot inside building, we complained they said sorry the air conditioning was out, they would call service man out in the morning. My whole family were sweating miserably. I couldn’t wait to leave. I told my family members we’ll catch up on old time when we can sit down comfortably somewhere besides here. They brought my bill out $ 324.00 they didn’t even take anything off for the inconvenience. I will never ever go back, my Birthday was destroyed. Thank you Sycamore inn.

The most amazing ribeye I’ve had in a long while! Skip the creamed spinach, it’s more like cheese and a bit of spinach. Did I mention the steak? Lol, enough to bring me back when in the area. I’ll just have a side of bread and the ribeye!

One star less for the guy assigned to take our orders. Felt like he was tired/grumpy/impatient with us. Kudos to the other staff though, very friendly. Location: ample parking, just in foothill so very near us. Ambiance: expected of a prime rib house, leather seats, dimly lit, old feel. Food: Me oh my. My husband and I are steak afficianados. He would check out each and every steak for the most perfectly marbled piece of steak in the grocery. A bit of a snob because our house steaks are superb and not to brag is comparable with most steak places. We have been to The House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. That is our standard. Now we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of our orders. Rib Chops: THE. MOST. PERFECTLY. COOKED and SEASONED rib chop ever. Perfectly charred on the outside and the inside was so buttery melt in your mouth tender. Taste was perfect. No fancy seasoning which made the flavor shine. Very big portion size. Prime rib: Very good portion size. Very good flavor esp with the Au Jus. Very tender. The price is worth is. We ordered creamed corn and mashed potatoes. They were very well made. Dessert: not very memorable. Bread: we didnt like the«special» butter. Very salty and tasted sour. We asked for regular house butter. Our bill for 2 people was about 130. Very worth it. Will be back again for sure.

We had the worst service imaginable. There were seven of us and decided to eat in the bar area at a table. We wanted to take advantage of their happy hour menu. We waited far to long to finally get our meal. Not once did our waiter back to the table to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything else. We had to get other waiters to find our waiter to order dessert even. I don’t think we were the only people that were complaining. Not a good experience and I won’t be going back! Should have talked to the manager but we decided just to leave after paying our bills.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was one of the worst overpriced place we have ever been to plus our server was so rude and unprofessional he is the white bald guy he never came to ask us if we need anything and he didn’t even talk to us after taking our order and then a cockroach ran across our table and we immediately told one of the servers and they moved us but I was already grossed out but I’m like no let me just give this place a chance so we get our steak and a tiny little side of mashed potatoes that we had to share and we both got a Coke to drink and that came out to $ 130 and the meat wasn’t even good quality meat it was a small piece and mostly fat this place did not look clean at all I was so disappointed to have come to this place never again this is how you learn I guess…

Food was just okay, went there for Mother’s Day brunch. The other customers there were irritating, staring at my husband and I. I really hate that racist BS

Stand by my last review. Food is on par. Came for Mothers Day. I got the Prime Rib again. I did have one complaint. ***warning: long rant coming… Right… now. So. The hostess. They sat us in the same seats last time. It is under the vent so the air is concentrated right on you. I was ok but my wife and mother in law were a little cold. It was missing a chair(i will clarify in a sec). We requested a table right side of the room. Was a four seater just like the one she was trying to seat is at. She said, «give me a second. I’ll check.» She actually came back with another chair to seat is at the table we didn’t particularly want to sit at. I asked again. She said give me a minute. She came back and told us to wait back by the hostesses table. I again inquired about the table across the room. She gave me some stupid explanation about logistics. Made no sense. Then she tried to tell me that every table is accounted for, for people with reservations. I told her, «yes, we are here with a reservation.» I asked if why we just couldn’t switch the table with the other group with a «reservation» who weren’t even there. She again gave me some stupid explanation about logistics. Anyways, she put us at another table, which was fine. Don’t know why she was so obsessed with not giving us the table. We dined for about hour and a half. Guess what? The table in question. No one sat there. She wished me a happy Mother’s Day as I left. I’m a dude. I swear. I read these types of reviews and think, «people probably make this stuff up.» Well, I stand corrected. Thanks for listening to my rant. I feel better. Does this skew my review? Slightly. I’m not gonna be like, «I’m never coming back!» And give them like one star. But, probably will contact management. But, I’ll be back. I hear the Death by Chocolate is pretty good.

I’m so frustrated and not very happy. My family frequents this location and my parents went for their 44thANNIVERSARY this past Saturday and received the most HORRIBLE service from ED… My folks are the sweetest people and NEVER complain about anything. They are the«Give the benefit of the doubt» type. However, ED left much to be desired. I don’t know if he’s family so the owners fail to acknowledge complaints about him or perhaps he’s a long time employee. Here’s the thing… People come in this establishment expecting the BEST when they are shelling out $ 150 or better on two people for a got damn dinner. Not someone rushing them, being snappy and disrepectful, and huffy with snide side comments. I’m a huge fan of patronizing deserving businesses which this place has been in the past, but it’s so unacceptable to know that this establishment just lets ED’s nasty behavior slide. If he’s too old for the stresses of a fast-paced job then move on. Don’t hang around treating people poorly because you are miserable and find making jokes about your wife appropriate. People don’t need to spend their money in an establishment that treats them as though they are irrelevant and not worthy of even the smallest courtesies. I’m really taken aback by this situation especially since we generally have a great time here. I can speak for myself, but my parents just wanted to celebrate their 44th and to enjoy their night… Thanks for ruining that experience ED. Good job!

The experience, food and atmosphere was all simply amazing! My boyfriend made reservations for dinner on a Saturday night to celebrate our 6th monthaversary :] The inside of the inn is so adorable! For dinner, I ordered the Chilean Seabass [which was absolute perfection] and my boyfriend had the Jidori Chicken and we shared a side of creamed corn. I wish I could give this place and the masterpieces created more than 5 stars. I will definitely be back!

Took my son & my two granddaughters for dinner here to celebrate my sons birthday. My son said he wanted a steak & oh boy did he get his wish! He had steak & lobster. We added house salads & a few sides. I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Everything was really delicious!

Great atmosphere and ambience a lot of character on the building. Has a lot of history Named after the sycamore trees in the front which are possibly more that 100 years old. The inside is very traditional with photos of history of business witch I thought was amazing!!! The restaurant had a rough start I ordered a glass of wine and it took 18 minutes to get. I was a bit bummed out. The waiters name was ED, he was very busy would not crack a smile!!! what I noticed is that they had(two) main waiters the floor… They need to look into hiring more waiters. I did not get any good vibes from ED, he was busy busy serving other tables. I never felt like he was taking care of the table. I would have to flag him down to get service.(this might be managements fault). Great choices of red wine. Quality of food you get the price is right!!! Notes for the chef: My dinner consisted of Wedge salad and steak with cream spinach and potatoes Au gratin… The steak was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I had absolutely no issues with the food. The steak was just right. I would say the quality of steaks here is hands down better that the local steak houses including Flemings!!! Yes! You can tell the kitchen has a good crew. I will try sycamore inn, in a month see if the customer service has changes.(Customer service is key to a business)

I absolutely loved everything about this charming place! It’s quaint presentation makes it perfect for a date night! The service was impeccable! We chose the prefixed menu for two. The portions were huge and the food was delectable. By the time dessert came around we had to ask for it to be boxed up. I can’t wait to come back and venture out on the menu!!!

The service is 5 stars the food is 4. x Dave Matthews took my order and made me feel enabled as a customer and catered to my family’s every wish. The bleu cheese mashed potatoes were the greatest. One good note to add, they no longer charge you 6 bucks for a urine sample sized soda from the bar(Bundabeer), it’s now 3.50, a win is a win.

I was so excited to go back and try Sycamore again because based on my previous visits, I thought the place had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the manager ruined it right at the end when I was about to bump them up a star or two! I got the mixed greens salad, stuffed mushrooms, and Chilean sea bass. The sea bass(which I’ve gotten before) was AWESOME. I haven’t found fish at other restaurants at this dish. The mixed greens salad was small, despite the waitress claiming it was quite large and«big enough for two.» The stuffed mushrooms were good, but had a TON of blue cheese topping on them. They were vegetarian, which was cool. I checked in on Unilocal to get 10% off and also sat in the bar area to get the happy hour prices. Unfortunately, when paying, the manager told me I had to pick which one I wanted: 10% off regular prices for everything or discounted happy hour prices on the eligible items. Seriously? I was pretty disappointed because how high the prices already are. I won’t be back again soon…

4.5 Stars I decided on the Sycamore Inn for my birthday dinner this year. I made a reservation more than a week in advance via OpenTable for 5:30PM. There’s no official dress code here. I know other high end restaurants are strict about that. So just stick with«dressy casual» and you should be fine. There’s plenty of parking in their lot and upon entering, there were already a lot of people sitting outside and inside at the Wine Bar. We were seated in the main dining area which is old world elegant and very dim. The floors squeaked with each step so you can tell they are probably the original wood floors. We sat at table 66 and my husband made a comment that the spring in his chair was poking him so he had to switch chairs. Another man at the table behind me had a broken chair leg and also had to switch chairs. So it appears that the furniture may need some maintenance/repair. We had Gil as our server and he had an assistant helping him. I thought the service was excellent as they were quick to take away used plates and bring refills for our drinks and more bread. We ordered the following: $ 3.50 Iced Tea $ 3.50 Diet Coke $ 17.50 Cajun Shrimp(wrapped in bacon with blue cheese sauce) $ 39.00 Petite Filet Mignon 8oz $ 36.00 Halibut special $ 8.00 Small Garlic Mashed Potatoes $ 9.50 Large Sauteed Mushrooms $ 10.00 Chocolate Soufflé — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - –10% off Unilocal check-in offer(-$ 12.70) + Tax($ 9.14) =========================== TOTAL $ 123.44 The Cajun shrimp were good, but a bit too salty for my liking. The complimentary bread was always piping hot right out of the oven. The filet mignon was cooked medium and very soft in the middle. I like how the outside has a nice crust on it as it sealed in all the juiciness. My husband loved the halibut. The chocolate soufflé takes about 25 – 30 minutes to prepare so if you know you want to order it, you have to tell them when you order your entrees. I didn’t think I would have room in my tummy for dessert, but wow it was so good! My husband and I devoured it! Overall, we had a great meal here. I’ve had better food at other restaurants, but you really can’t beat 10% off and good service so rounded my rating to 5 Stars. It’s so close to home as well… we’ll definitely find ourselves back here! SIDENOTE: We finished our meal close to 7:00PM and on the way out, we saw a police car in the parking lot. He had pulled over a man apparently drunk and making him walk a straight line. LOL Check out @Rancho_Cucamonga_Eats on Instagram. 74⁄100 Reviews for 2015

It was back to Sycamore Inn for dinner on Christmas Eve(just a bit behind on reviews, yes!). A 10% Unilocal check in meal discount was not honored because even the Eve was considered to be a holiday. And Diane was given a snaggletoothed fork. I pointed this out to our assistant server, and he exclaimed, «Something went wrong!» To which I replied, «No kidding!» But neither circumstance was a big deal to be concerned about. After settling in at our table inside our comfortable red leather winged chairs, we began with a Classic Shrimp Cocktail with Horseradish-Cocktail Sauce and a lemon wedge. The cold crustaceans were meaty and tasty, along with magnificent home-baked very sour Sourdough Rolls and butter. A crock of French Onion Soup was small and uncrusted, but still very good with well-caramelized onions, Gruyère Cheese, and a nicely deconstructed croûton. Spinach Salad with crisp bacon, mushrooms, egg, and a warm Bacon Dressing was very good. And Sake & Miso Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, accompanied by Tomato Jam, a small side of white Parmesan Au Gratin Potatoes with onions, sublime. Service was excellent, with regular unbidden water refills. The ambiance was upscale, classy, and more romantic than usual with Christmas decorations aplenty adorning all dining rooms. Diane and I happily finished a two-hour meal.
