I’ve had food in daphnes many Times before. Mainly in north oc and food is quite descent. But The quality of food in this place is not good at all. I was generous with 2 stars. The beef and chicken kabobs were both aweful(meat was chewy) and rice was not warm enough. Not coming back here anytime soon …

Was in your Rancho Santa Margarita location tonight and must say it was really busy. My order was to go and it was taking a little longer than usual. It looked like they were short one chef for the evening. The manager came to me and apologized for the wait. He offered me baklava for my group of 6 people. It was a nice gesture. The staff was really hustling tonight to make the customers happy, even though they were short a chef. I will be back again.

The food is good. High calorie content! :( The cooks and other staff are great. I’m writing the two star review about the blond lady with the bad attitude that works up front. I even had to hang up on a phone order last week because she was so rude! I ate in store today cuz another guy was taking the orders. A few minutes later I saw her stumble around dragging the broom and dustpan. I feel like someone in her family musta died(if so I’m sorry) or she’s on drugs.

I eat at Daphne’s fairly often because I think the quality for price is good. However, I am constantly disappointed by the attention to detail in the food preparation. I order the California salad every time I go, 9 times out of 10 they make it wrong. I’m not asking for add ons or subtractions. Just the menu salad. Either they forget the main ingredients like chicken, cheese, avocado, or they add ingredients like onions. I hate to be that person that checks every item before taking it to go or sending dishes back, but prepare yourselves to do so if you go here.(I’ve had this problem at more than on Daphne’s)

I gave this location three stars because they are just so darn slow. I came in and ordered, was the only person in the entire place and it still took 20-minutes to get my food. I understand a wait when there are a bunch of people here, but I was literally the only person here the entire time. Every other time I come they seem to be just as slow. Just be prepared to wait a while for your food when coming here.

It’s healthy and tastes good. Pricing is fair depending on what you get. They’ve undergone menu changes in the past few years, gradually improving the quality and what you get for your money. This isn’t the only location I’ve been to, but it is my favorite.

I went today for lunch after quite awhile away and it was wonderful! The salad was large and very good and the Sandwich was also very good. It’s my go to place from now on, What a great meal and great service when it was very busy!

I have been to Daphne’s several times and I almost always order the chicken pita. I give it four stars as a fast food choice, as the food is relatively good, consistent and it is, well, fast. If you are looking for a more authentic Greek/Mediterranean experience, there are certainly other and better options. There is something to be said for convenience, however.

The food at Daphne’s is mediocre so don’t expect different here. However this location gets 1 star for a disgusting, dirty dining room, broken woman’s bathroom, out of paper towels in the mens bathroom and overall chaos. It amazes me with such a prime location and good brand how management can fail so badly.

I was at Daphne’s tonight for an order to-go. While I was waiting I noticed that the cashier who handles cash & credit card payments would go & help in the kitchen with the food prep. He did not wash his hands before touching the food & that is so unsanitary. I’m glad I couldn’t see whether he touched my food or not, otherwise I would lose my appetite. Daphne’s needs to train the staff better. I ordered the street chicken pitas & it was good. Pita was soft & chicken tender. Once before, though, the pita was hard & would break when folded & not edible. I would visit again.

I know I know, it’s a Daphne’s. But for effs sake, have some pride in the food you’re making in the kitchen. Got the Mix & Match plate with chicken kabob and falafel. Burnt falafel, and bland chicken with wilted onions and bell peppers. Pita is obviously not fresh, and overall I was regretting my purchase after my first bite. I wish there was something better within walking distance of my work, but I would much rather jump in the car and drive 3 minutes to Neighborhood Grill where they actually serve legitimate food.

This Daphne’s California Greek is probably one of the better locations in the area and really doesn’t deserve the 2.5 star rating it has received… They’ve recently made efforts in providing a better experience for both service and quality, and it shows. Yes, Daphne’s has changed their menu. Yes, the service here can be questionable at times… And yes, it’s not«traditional» Greek food that adheres to your great grandmothers recipes for baklava or avgolemono. But this store is a good stop for a quick lunch or take-out order; the food quality is always fresh, very wholesome, and the restaurant is kept exceptionally tidy… I usually stop in during weeknights to get a gyro pita to go, and the young lady who is almost always there to take my order is very pleasant and makes it a point to greet and thank you whenever you’re at the door. Today I ate in the dining area because it was a sunny Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was totally inviting. The store was busy and the service was acceptable, the food came out quick and fresh, but most of all it was delicious and filling… All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and this is why I’ll continue to eat here. Pros: The gyro pita combo was much heartier than the usual take-out version. Bonus! Cons: The cashier seemed to have only one speed, which was«bare-minimum» at his best. This Daphne’s is a bright spot in the fast-casual Greek restaurant chain. Try them out again if you haven’t already.

I’m not quite sure how useful this review will be as it appears that they have changed their menu. Anyhow, I love their gyro and shrimp plate. It comes with seasoned rice, pita bread and a side salad with a delicious Mediterranean blend salad dressing. Don’t forget the kalamata olives. I also enjoy their dulmas which are grape leaves stuffed with rice and for a while they had burgers that were pretty tasty.

Used to be amazing ! Now the menu has been reduced to just a few items! I ordered steak kabob but was told they ran out of steak! What a total disappointment! I asked the waitress what happened to the menu, she responded«It’s been simplifed». Hmm, I didn’t find it difficult before!

Meh, this place isn’t that great. I came here for lunch last week and it wasn’t good. I ordered the kabob combo with a steak and chicken kabob and Greek salad to go. By the time I got back to work,(less than 5 minutes away) the food was soggy! The kabobs didnt have that much meat on them. Also, for the price I was expecting bigger portions. With a 2.00 off coupon, it was still 9.50 for a combo plate and a soda! A little steep for lunch… kinda felt ripped off. I would rather go somewhere else. I was disapointed because it seemed healthy and I really wanted to like it… it just didn’t cut it for me!

My new favorite lunch spot when I visit Rancho Santa Margarita each week. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady and my order was taken promptly. By the time I served my drink the server was waiting for me to select a table to sit at. I ordered a combination plate with chicken kabob, gyro meat and double-salad; I try to stay away from rice. The food was delicious, especially with their famous tzatziki sauce. While typing this review, the same young lady who took my order stopped by to check on me. And then offered to bring me a refill in my tea. Great experience! Thank you Daphne’s.

Oh phili mou(my friend) DAPHNE! Ella, ella… My regular Greek fast food watering hole! When I have a hankering for some halfway decent Greek food and I am in short supply of time this is where I come. Usually a work week, lunch time grab and dash sort of place for me! The great thing about this place when you’re at work is you can order on line… if your company gives you access to do so or you get chummy with one of the IT peeps! You pull them up, find your location and put in your order. You can also pay on line and tell them what time you’ll be by to snatch up your grub! By the time you use the rest room, have a mini meeting in the hall(I like to call a drive-by because people drive-by hoping to catch you off guard so they can get something out of you instead of sending an email or putting in a actual request as policy states)…sorry off topic again… walk to your car and drive there your food is ret-to-go and all bagged up. You are free to run additional errands and get back to your designated cubie-cave at the office! The food is hot and they have a few healthy choices as well! ALWAYS a PLUS when you’re trying to watch your waistline NOT expand! The chicken and beef is ALWAYSMOIST and TENDER! The pitas are average and the Tzatziki sauce is OK. It’s NOTWINNING any prizes in my book but it does its job on your gyros! I have had better, but it’s edible! I like the humus, that you can select whole wheat pita and that they provide nutrition on the website as well. One thing the FDA finally did right was making restaurants have nutrition info so we can see what we are eating. I think the FDA did that but NOT really sure! They seem so against us at times! The place itself fills up rather quickly during lunch time as everyone is in need of a FASTANDFRIENDLY meal before they head back to work! They have some pretty good salads as well which is always NICE! It does come with pita so in the end it’s really not all that healthy but it’s bunny food and the dressing is good! They also do the traditional dessert of Baklava which actually originates from Turkey NOT Greece… just a little bit of trivia for you. I don’t really care for it as it is a bit on the dry side and not the SICKY-ICKY, OOEY-GOOEYNUTTYDELIGHT I LOVE! But again is Greek fast food so what do you expect! I do enjoy the food so I’ll keep filling my tum-tum with it for lunch when time is short and I am in a blurry-hurry to get back to my cubie-cave at work! I think if they made some slight adjustments they food could be excellent and NOT just good! But then I’m sure the price would go up and then you might as well go to a real GREEKRESTAURANT!

I was hesitant the other night when I decided to come here for dinner, since I pulled up Unilocal and there are some not so great reviews. I went in and placed a to go order. I ordered the Starter Appetizer, not sure exactly what its called, but it had hummus and guacamole and pita chips and cucumbers. SO good. The orange hummus was pretty spicy but I liked it. I also ordered a side of the seasoned rice pilaf. Also, very good. I ordered the mini pita trio as well, and enjoyed all three pitas. The only complaint I had, was the person taking my order was also ordering the phone and taking phone orders. There was another guy working, that I feel could have taken the phone orders, as they were constant and the phone rang almost the entire time I was there. The service was friendly, the food was good… I will go back here again :)

I am greek so I know I am not getting real greek food when I go here. That is the least of the problems. Long line, long wait for food, expensive, orders are wrong, staff can’t tell you what comes with meal and what doesn’t. Not worth the 20 minute wait after ordering.

It had probably been a good 6 years since I last set foot in this Daphne’s. I fully gave up on them when I came here for lunch and the back wall was covered in ants. That’s usually a good sign that it’s time to stop eating somewhere. But, I saw that they recently revamped their menu and logo, so I figured what the hell — new look, new chance. I opted for the mix-and-match two plate, with a gyro, chicken kabob, rice pilaf and a Greek salad. It’s a little pricey for lunch at $ 9.69 with tax, not including a drink, but they do present it well. The gyro meat was good, although it was a little cold and firm, meaning it had been sitting around for a while. Still, it tasted great wrapped up in a pita square and dipped in their signature tzatziki sauce. The chicken kabob is no frills — it’s meat on a small skewer with some onions and bell pepper. The rice pilaf was good but, again, like the meat it was a little cool and needed to be heated better before serving it. If there’s anything they shouldn’t screw up, it’s the salad — and they didn’t. It’s just the right portion size for lunch, and they make sure to get a good amount of everything in there. I’ll have to try a few more of their items, but it seems like they’ve done a good job of overhauling a wilting franchise. I’m not 100% sold on their efforts just yet, but a step in the right direction is enough to get me back here for lunch at least a couple times a month.
