My boyfriend and I split a combo platter that included pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon and hash browns. We also ordered a mimosa. The only part that was enjoyable was the mimosa. The food wasn’t bad, but it was just bland. We had to use all of the salt and pepper on the table just to make it taste like anything. I’d give two stars if not for the service. The waiter greeted us quickly to take our order but then never came back(hence, 1 star). They messed up and gave us the wrong order of eggs and we couldn’t fix it because he just never came back. New Jersey is known for it’s diners. There are so many better ones out there. Avoid this one.

Ok, imagine if the ‘little’ things were looked at and addressed. Take for example this: potatoes are pretty cheap, and making fries is easy. Let’s say you order something really easy, like grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, and a side of cheese fries. And lets say your order comes out, however they forgot the bacon. Well right there, you lose stars. How does one forget the bacon? Like leaving your child in the car on a hot day for 8 hours. Oh. I forgot about my child. No, you just don’t do that. Anyway, so they take my plate back to get the bacon, and come back out with the same fries. But now, since 5 minutes went by, the fries suck, and the cheese has turned into glue. A very proactive approach would have been to simply remake the fries. Doesn’t cost much, and shows a kick ass concern for the customers satisfaction, and culinary enjoyment. So, laziness turns into a below average meal, which turns into a customer not returning. Like me. Think about that Randolph diner. Really, think about it. It wasn’t a lobster. It was french fries. Bad job.

The Randolph diner has some of the best quality food for some of the best prices. You cannot find such an array of options to keep everybody in the party happy. If you can think of anything that you would like to eat one night then most likely the diner will accommodate whatever your heart desires. I have been here for years and it is one of my favorite breakfast lunch and dinner spots. The best part of it is it is open as late as 2 to 3 in the morning

Go there with my friend and 6 kids frequently. The staff is always friendly, the service is always great, food comes out quick exactly how we ordered it, and the quality of the meals and the pricing is great.

Not happy with my Mediterranean Omlet at Randolph dinner. It was suposed to have calamari olives instead it had sliced Portuguese olives. Onions, Fera and red pepers. Not fully cooked and worst of all it had garlic. I don’t care for garlic in my omlet! After taste all day. They better get their act together, they just reopenef.

Got a Mexican omelette and the choice of 3 appetizers, chicken fingers, wings and disco fries. Omelette and disco fries were pretty good. Chicken fingers were nothing special and the wings were pathetic. The biggest disappointment was the hash browns, they were definitely old and had no crunch to it at all. Not sure how they can serve that. Overall nothing special, plenty of other better diners around.

i don’t know how the food is because we told the waiter to cancel our order(which surprisingly to me, did not surprise the waiter) and walked out after receiving our coffee. i will sooner leave a place 5 stars for when it deserves less than just give a place one star when it really does deserve one star. the truth is everyone that writes reviews on Unilocal is a douche and thinks their opinion matters. it doesn’t. south park was spot on with their episode making fun of «yelpers». the reason for this review is not to dissuade customers but more for the management at randolph diner. the place was very dirty. we didn’t get there late at night. it was sunday 11am. the table was sticky and crusty. nyc park benches are cleaner than the seats we were brought to. both of our coffee cups were dirty with old stained coffee. the final straw for my wife was the lipstick that was on the mug.

Most of the food here tastes exactly the same. Which is concerning considering that a roast beef sandwich tastes just like a Greek salad… If you avoid most of the menu and only get a sandwich you are probably fine. The fries here are pretty good. But that’s basically it. There are much better places around which will serve a similar but significantly better meal. The staff are pretty average, sometimes you end up waiting a long time for a waiter to arrive, other times they are fast. Truly depends. I try to avoid eating her as much as possible, but because of the large space they offer, it is acceptable for sport team dinners or larger hang outs.

I was drunk at at a public golf course restaurant flirting with a bartender /new acquaintance of mine when I had an epiphany of sorts… I was outside smoking a cigarette and the 19 year old kid who just started waitering asked me if i wanted to «watch the game outside». The place at that point was supposed to be closed 45 minutes, but since I had met this beautiful woman in there and she lives nearby me, she didn’t seem to mind staying late. I told him of a time where we used to «hit the diner» and sit in the smoking section with Diego, drunkenly trying to figure out why our night was ending. This was 2001 – 2002, when I was this young waiter’s age I was speaking to. After telling him the story of how«that was great(but very unhealthy — smoking in a restaurant), it makes me want to go to the diner very soon and visit Diego. The food may not be a 5-star diner(but I can’t judge since I havent been there recently), but you can’t beat breakfast, late-night service, or sitting at the counter minding your own business and reading a paper. its almost a zen-like experience, that counter. since I am no longer a resident and have moved a decent drive away, I long for Diego, some disco fries or a generously sized greek salad wrap and fries. The Spiropolous family are great, hard-working people and former clients of mine in my own business. And they are a great looking greek family too. Mr. Spiropolous still looks like he did in 2001. I hope as I age I have those genetics(I already know I will have my hair when im older). A great story of entrepreneurship that has been passed to their son, who is happily engaged recently. This place is tops in town, and probably in a 5 mile radius in both directions along route 10. When you drive through town and are hungry, you should really go there. Someday the town will grant them the permits to turn this place into a catering behemoth as well.

It’s 2:20AM and I just got back from a late night meal with my wife at the Randolph Diner. Our waiter was very nice but we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. We ordered potato skins and honey barbecue wings thinking that were playing it safe. When we received the food, the potato skins(which we regretfully decided to eat anyway) were very, very dry with burnt, blackened pieces of bacon on top. The honey barbecue on the wings did not taste like honey barbecue at all but instead tasted like a mixture of honey mustard and something else. We brought the weird tasting sauce to the night manager’s attention and he offered to give us replacement buffalo wings, which we accepted. Not even 2 minutes later(which seemed way too fast), we received our«new» order of buffalo wings. After the first bite, we could instantly tell that our buffalo wings were in reality our original«honey barbecue» wings dipped in buffalo sauce, not a newly prepared order of buffalo wings. It’s pretty insulting that the night manager or whoever was working in the kitchen thought they could take the easy way out by dipping the original wings in buffalo sauce instead of preparing a new batch of wings. Sadly, we won’t be coming back to the Randolph Diner after this.

I’ve been coming here since I was born and never once have I ever had a bad meal, and it’s not as costly as other diners plus you get more and better quality. Always love coming here and always will. Also the service is amazing I’m always seated quickly the waiters & waitresses are always nice and food comes out way faster than anywhere else (I highly recommend their French toast, fries, and chicken fingers)

The Randolph Diner offers a delicious meal at very affordable prices. My sister and I both felt the quality, quantity and service were exceptional. We will certainly come back again and recommend it to family and friends.

Hey so I just came here with my boys for a late snack.(2:43 am) I came mostly craving for a chocolate milkshake, like anyone else going to a diner!!! …am i right? They have no chocolate milkshakes. Not happy. Now im waiting to place the rest of my order to the waitress who has an obnoxious piercing on her face. This is the worst New Jersey dining experience of my entire life. :( P. S. Horrible curly fries

I am not much of a diner guy, but this place did the trick. Ample space, plenty parking, they get you seated quickly. service was very good and our waitress was very attentive and polite . Soda and coffee is refillable . The hard drinks are soft, had 2 margaritas and no buzz. They sat our group of 23 in minutes and the place was busy. Went with the special broiled Bronzino with bitter herbs, shrimp and potato. That meal was very good for a diner… Not a bad place, i am not a diner guy, but if the stars align and have to go back I would.

I’ve only been there once, but I’m not sure if I’d go back. Was in the area breakfast time so I figured us give it a shot. The menu was promising, lots of options, I ordered a Mexican omelet which came with extraordinarily greasy undercooked home fries and toast. Normally I like to watch my carbs and would avoid the toast but after eating the omelet, which had a very unappetizing texture and proved to be only slightly less greasy than the home fries, I ate all the toast cause I was afraid the food wouldn’t stay down. I’m not one to send anything back, but in hindsight, I probably should’ve. Maybe they make other things better, but after a visit to the skeevy men’s room, it solidified my decision not to be a return customer.

I’m not sure why this place has such poor reviews-it’s a great little diner, and a favorite of my family. I usually wind up visiting multiple times during my visits back east. They’ve got all of your Jersey diner classics, for good prices. Everything is delicious(at least if you stick to the basics, I haven’t tried anything too exotic here.) They do great burgers, including well seasoned turkey burgers. Eggs and omelets are great. Even the French onion soup is great, with tart savory broth and bread that’s been toasted in butter. Last time I was here, I had a variety of great diner classics– a delicious mint cookie milkshake, and split an appetizer«mombo combo» that was a great value at around $ 10. You pick your choice of 3 appetizers, then pick either disco fries(mozzarella and gravy!), Irish fries(cheddar and bacon!), or nachos. We tried the boneless buffalo wings(crispy and tasty, and the mild sauce had some spice to it), fried mac and cheese bites(which were amazingly cheesy!), and jalapeño poppers(with cheddar, and fantastic.). It’s the ultimate comfort/drunk food! There are a variety of gluten free options, and they are accommodating of allergies and special dietary needs.

Good dependable diner food. Nothing to write home about, but also nothing will offend. Food is on the only side, which is to be expected. Prices are great. A burger can be had for less than $ 10. Service is decent.
