This place is awesome. My wife and I started going here for Saturday morning breakfast over 15 years ago. Friendliest waitresses and staff. We have introduced this diner to our children and grandchildren and my sister and brother in law. We all agree, the food is excellent and you can’t beat the prices. Just a nice place to sit and relax and enjoy good food, good atmosphere and all the regulars. It is cash only, but they have an ATM in the lobby so it’s never a problem.

As a Jersey girl, diners are a Jerseys best friend. This place is in my hometown and I have been going my whole life. The staff as seen me grow up and they are just like family. The down side is that it is cash only but it is worth it and the wait if you go after church on Sundays. I tell everyone that comes to visit, you have to go to Bryan’s. Usually when I walk in I usually don’t have to say my order because I get the same thing. Blueberry muffin toasted with butter and cinnamon sugar on top with a side of either bacon or home fries. To think, I have never ordered off of the menu but you can for one. Lean more to the home fries. Also, everything is under ten dollars. I repeat $ 10!!! It is a tight space but it is cozy and the old town photos on the wall. Going to Bryan’s makes me feel happy to be home.

Negatives: Cash Only — The hours are short Positives: Great brunch food with a homey feel at a cheap price. The place is usually pretty packed, and a staple within Roxbury. If your thinking about heading to iHop, come here instead.

*CASHONLY* As a fond NJ diner lover, I would say that I would skip all the diners and head to Bryan’s for breakfast/lunch instead. There’s good and then there’s awesome: The good: The tight quarters here may make eating difficult, especially if you’re tall and/or wide but trust me it’s worth it. This place has a loyal fan base so be prepared to wait a little to be seated but again it’s worth it! Now, the awesome: Prices: must be the best prices around, your wallet will thank you Food quality: yes, yes… so awesome. Bacon is crispy, home fries are flavorful, eggs benedict is swimming in perfect hollandaise sauce. The rice pudding is incredible, sprinkled with just a touch of cinnamon but what a difference it makes. This place has REAL sausage links not those puny little things other breakfast places serve Open kitchen: I’m one for an open kitchen concept, just makes things fun Service: even though this place is swarming, staff is still friendly and accommodating to the random requests made. Food arrives promptly and HOT. Love it.

I’d like to give this place a better review, since others appear to be regulars and find that it satisfies some inner need for a homespun meal. I agree that Bryan’s has a ‘homey’ ambience. I agree that the waitstaff is pleasant. And this is why it gets two stars. But I think I’d be better served going to a foodtruck. I went there this morning for a quick breakfast. I ordered french toast(full serving), orange juice and a side of corn beef hash. I had been to Bryan’s once before for an egg, taylor ham and cheese sandwich – to go. It was good, not great. Better than quick chek, but not nearly as good as Java Joe’s. My visit this morning made me feel that I just dropped $ 11 for a breakfast I wish I didn’t eat. The french toast was dry and tasteless. no cinnamon, no custardy texture. It was 3 thin slices of store-bought white bread cut in half. the orange juice(which cost $ 1.45) was about 4 oz. The corn beef hash($ 2.95)was… unfortunate. I suppose I’ve had better taste out of a hormel can. It was inedible. I mean, c’mon. I don’t expect much, but it had a strong musky taste. It reminded me of the dogfood i once decided to taste when I was 7 years old. I sent it back and asked for bacon($ 1.95) instead. Well, the order was 4 short, thin, limp slices.(Yeah, I know, bacon prices have spiked.) But at least it was an upgrade from the hash. So, it would have been nice to not pay for the hash. After all, I sent it back. Nope. It was on the bill. When I think of a homey diner that doesn’t accept credit cards, I think of biscuits and gravy, french toast made with Challah bread dipped in a flavorful custard(not that hard to add a bit of cream, nutmeg and cinnamon), thick, crispy bacon, corn beef hash not out of can, fresh-squeezed orange juice. Oh, well, won’t be coming back.

This is Tyler, Joe is my dad and I’m 13 almost 14 and I’ve been going to Bryan’s for 13 years. My grandparents eat there every weekend and have been going even before I was born. I love this place! Food is great, service is nice, and the atmosphere is excellent. Whenever I visit I usually order one of the breakfast entrees. Out of the thirteen years of service I have had one meal that was unsatisfactory and after telling them they made me a replacement.

Every town needs a place like Bryans. Plenty of counter space and the old style bar stools. A reasonable amount of seating at tables as well. The people who work here are very nice and go out of their way to remember you. I make this my stop for breakfast every Saturday morning. All the usual fare for a luncheonette breakfast. Nice large servings. I have an egg white omelet with onions and cheese with a side of Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon is probably the best you will find. They give you 6 slices(not too thick) and cook it on the iron grill in the butter that is already on the grill. Great muffins. If you like Taylor ham, cheese and egg on a hard roll, you will not find a better one in NJ. People also seem to really like their pancakes. Big seller.

Note: This place is cash only! Have to say that this place is a true gem. Food has been excellent every time, and their eggs Benedict are amazing. Wait staff is always friendly, and it has a nice cozy feel to the place. A bit on the small side, so expect a wait if you come during a busy time. Also the service isn’t always the fastest, but the wait staff is so nice and the food is totally worth the wait.
