This place is quite good. Went out on a limb and tried something out of my comfort zone — the Guadalajara Special. It was really, really yummy! Definitely coming back.

Pretty good food and they treat the service dogs very good very filling. Good staff. Not much ethnic foods in this area so this is pretty good

I should have paid better attention to the bad reviews. Definitely the worst tasting Mexican meal I’ve ever had. The sauce texture wasn’t good and tasted like tomato paste and the refried beans tasted overcooked and and blah. Even the margarita had an overly sweet, artificial flavor.

End of an era? Stopped in for a bite. Very disappointed. The host was a big kid dressed like a gang banger complete with a backwards baseball cap, baggy jeans, and a grim reaper tee shirt. He spent more time flirting with a blonde patron than doing his job. Also, the seats all had huge rips in them. The place has gone down the toilet.

Good home made Mexican food. Nothing fancy. Humble but warm and authentic. The service was fast and accurate.

I went to this Mexican food restaurant on a Monday evening and there were quite a few people in the restaurant. My friend and I were seated at a small table near another occupied table. We ordered the queso fundido as an appetizer and I ordered the enchilada and taco plate and my friend ordered the burrito with pork. The queso fundido had a really nice flavor, but was very runny, which is not what I was used to. My enchiladas and taco were ok, but nothing special. My friend said he enjoyed the burrito and that the pork had a nice flavor and was very tender. All in all, it was tasty, but I think that I will try other Mexican restaurants in the area before going back to this restaurant.

You can’t beat Casa Gonzalez for value, service, or tastiness. It’s a treasure and IMO the best restaurant in Ranson. Try the fajitas or the chili relleno burrito. The drink prices are also very low. I think margaritas are only about 2.50.

Took the opportunity to stop by one of my favorite Mexican food spots in the eastern panhandle for the last time for a while(moving). I believe this is the original(no. 2 closed down in martinsburg recently). I ordered my usually taquitos and a Margarita to wash it all down. I love the simplicity of the items here. Real meat fillings, fresh vegetables, and homemade goodness. No frozen it’s here. You get your money’s worth at this spot.

We were sad when Casa left Leesburg, but we have been willing to travel to WV once a month to enjoy the food. Please don’t visit Casa Gonzalez looking for pretty colors, fancy lights, or over-the-top menu items. Casa Gonzalez is a simple Mexican restaraunt that serves consistent dishes at a very reasonable price. The staff is always nice, the place is clean, and you expect the meal to be good. Some visitors might find the food«bland» if they are accustomed to fancier Mexican establishments. Great for families and kids. Not going to break the bank for a lunch/dinner.

I came here with my brother a bit skeptical that I would like Mexican food in West Virginia. Being from Houston(and frequent visits to San Antonio and Austin), I’m familiar with the best of the best. This wasn’t bad, but not that good. My brother got the an enchilada plate that he really liked. My Combo plate(enchilada and burrito) was okay, but not really comparable to the best that I’m used to. I found the salsa and sauces a little plain(not much spice, kind of runny and just tasted like tomato paste). The meat was good(had both chicken and beef). The service was excellent, it’s a nicely run, little place. It is a family run operation by a family that knows what they are doing(multiple stores in cities, including one that closed in Leesburg). If you want Mexican Food in this area, this place isn’t bad. But if you want really good Mexican food, or are a connoisseur, then maybe you should steer clear.

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Charles Town area. Good selection, kid friendly, and decent margaritas.

Came here again the other week, same good stuff as last time and the guacamole was great(just like I make at home!).

The staff was good but the food wasn’t too great. The rice was really good but I had chicken enchiladas and it was just plain shredded chicken in a tortilla with no sauce. Very dry with no taste. I would not go back.
