Great quality for a decent price. Tastes less like a Chain and more like someone’s nice kitchen cooking, as expected. The hot salsa was just hit and tasty enough, perfect!

First time customers and we will be back! The tortilla chips were the best I’ve ever had! We ordered a carnitas burrito, a few street tacos and of course queso dip! Overall everything was fresh and delicious!

Split carnitas taco, 2 fish facos, beef taco, chips with guacamole and a churro for two and was extremely satisfied with the taste of everything. Cost came to just under $ 20 at $ 18+, or $ 9 – 10 each, and I of course wish it was a bit cheaper, but also realize it’s probably going to cost a bit more to bring good Mexican food to Charles Town and support local businesses. Looking forward to trying out their street taco Tuesday on the reg! Tip: their«mild» salsa is truly mild so if you like even a bit of spicy, just get«spicy» as it’s not crazy hot. Recommend: fish tacos with crunchy corn tortilla and spicy salsa.

I just keep coming back for their Street Tacos of all kinds, their Pescado Baja tacos and so many of the other items they have there. Consistently excellent with such a mom and pop feel to it! A must have!

Call me crazy, but who in WV has ever heard of Taco Tuesday? I spend a lot of time in Southern California, and Taco Tuesday(and Mexican food) is practically a religion. So imagine my surprise when I come across this dinky shop in WV! The tacos were decent enough, but small. They were on like 3″ tortillas, so you need at least six of them to feel full. Additionally, there was a bit of an extended wait to get our food. The ordering and cooking process could definitely be refined. And, they had only a half dozen or so tables, so you’re probably going to want your food to go. Go here if you’re curious, but if you have any Hispanic culture at all, you probably won’t be back.

Work brought take out orders from Ortega’s. These are the best street tacos I’ve had in the area. I ordered a chicken and baja taco. Both were full of flavor and served on wonderful, hand made corn tortillas. The chips are crisp, salty, and dangerously addicting with their nicely spiced hot salsa. Enjoyed a side of pickled jalapeños & carrots as well. No complaints here. I look forward to trying out the rest of their menu.

Finally! A reason to go to Ranson, WV. This place is amazing!!! Stopped in with a few friends and everything we had was delicious. The homemade tortilla chips are the best I’ve had from any Mexican restaurant and I’ll be coming back for the street tacos. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for high quality Mexican food that won’t break the bank.

Ok, I really like this place, simple good taco shop. Not fancy, just practical. They have a good selection of meats, fish and veggie. Flavors are good, prices are great. They have soups, haven’t tried them yet. I like the burrito shells a little better than the taco shells, they are the soft corn taco shells, not the lighter flour style, just my taste. They’re good, but I like the burrito shells. This has become a good quick stop when I’m around.

Found this place while looking for some lunch. Their street tacos are incredible. BESTCHIPSEVER! They also make killer soup. I will be back many times to try everything else. Plan on going on off hours or take out because there are only 4 tables inside.

Oh my gross. I have NOIDEA how this place is rated so high. Hub and I went in for a quick bite to hold us over so we didn’t spend a million bucks in the grocery store. We walked In the place was FREEZING, I mean like, 50 degrees. They had a space heater in the middle of their 5 table dining area. We walked up to the counter, I ordered a chicken street taco– I’m going to assume the guy taking my order was the owner or manager– the first thing he says is «you know that’s not .99 cents right?» … I’m thinking to myself… Um ok I don’t look like I have $ 1.59 for a taco? Ok, whatever– my hub orders a carne Asada burrito we pay our $ 9 or whatever, take our ticket and go stand by the space heater. Food comes up, ice cold. The chicken on the street taco was cut in to tiny little pieces was totally dry and tasted like it had been rinsed in water. Gross, didn’t even attempt a bite after my initial pick through. The Carne Asada burrito came wrapped loosely, under filled and mostly contained a dry crusty bean paste. Completely disgusting. eww!!!

Wow, I finally found a place that is truly authentic! As a former Southern Californian I think I know good authentic Mexican food. This reminds me of home and the taco shops in Rosarito and Ensenada in Baja Cal. Real carnitas!!! Makes for GREAT tacos and butritos, fish tacos like they’re suppose to be. Ortega’s has three styles of tacos and I love the Street version, just like home!!! Super nice people, the owner Mavi(hope I spelled that right) is so nice and knows what the customers like… GREATFLAVOR, GREATVALUE! Ortega’s is going to see me… ALOT! If you know real deal taco shops you’ve GOTTA check out Ortega’s!!!

I discovered this place accidentally here on Unilocal. My husband and I decided to stop through to check it out. I got the supreme nachos with pork. It was a lot and pretty darn good. There was a lot of queso cheese on it, just the way I like it. I loved the fact the tortilla chips were homemade and so delicious. My husband orders the supreme hardshell tacos pork and chicken, he enjoyed them. Overall we both like this place very much. We will be coming back again.

Wow! This place great! Coming from California and having our Mexican friends make us Tacos and Burritos, we’re use to great tasting food. This place rivals that. And the Chips are awesome!

Great food, fast service & great prices! The street tacos are my favorite. The food is more of an authentic style, which is a big plus! It’s a great place to stop in and grab a quick bite to eat.

Is this the best kept secret in the area? Because they should have a line around the corner. This is our third time eating here. Street tacos for .99 on Tuesdays! Can’t beat that! The staff is friendly and accommodating. So far we have tried: Street tacos– not a fan of onions and they leave them off if you ask. Flavorful shredded beef. Regular tacos– had the steak. Lean grilled steak. Queso– who doesn’t love a bowl of melted cheese? Guacamole– tastes so fresh. Looks fresh too. Great flavor. Chips-made on site. thick and crunchy. So basically, I really like this place.

Stopped in to Ortega’s once again to fill up on Mexi-grub. I ordered five chicken burritos, two fish tacos, and several cheese quesadillas. After 10 minutes, our food was ready. Just as they gave us our food, five more customers walked in for lunch. Good timing! The hot chicken burrito wasn’t very spicy at all so I added my own hot sauce to kick it up a notch. Lettuce was not included and costed extra. Who charges for lettuce? There was a lot of refried beans and not much rice and chicken. The burrito was pretty good, but they could really do so much better. If you make the best burrito in town, people will come from all around. Trust me on that. None of the four kids finished eating their quesadillas, so that says something. The one redeeming menu item is the fish tacos. I really like them and if I can remember next time I’m visiting Ranson, I’ll order them. Again, they’re boxed fish filets, but with the tangy sauce, they’re yummy.

After a day of driving through Maryland and VA backroads we were ready for some good grub. I hit up my favorite app Unilocal to help us find something. I found Ortega’s Taco Shop, with nearly five stars and One review that said the place was cute and clean. Another said they were«off the chain». We laughed about it and decided to check them out. Oh man! So glad we did! Finding good tacos in VA has proved impossible. And technically this place in actually in West VA. We still have yet to find good tacos in VA. I live over an hour away from this place and my hubby and I are obsessed. We make the drive once or twice a month just for these tacos. The food is amazing, amazingly cheap and the service is always quick and friendly. If you are a fan of simple but yummy street tacos hit this place up! They really are«off the chain»!

So glad we discovered this little Mom and Pop taco shop! They make the BEST tacos I’ve had anywhere around WV, VA, MD, PA and I’m always looking. My girlfriend is vegetarian but after trying one of the fish tacos, she’s putting these fish tacos on her list of veggies. We talked to the owners while having our lunch. The Dad runs the register and the Mom(native to the Baja Peninsula) cooks up the amazing grub. Sauces are made in house, everything is cooked to order. The vegetarian quesadillas are without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. They have great deals, like .99 cent taco tuesdays and special fish tacos on Friday during Lent. Seriously, if you are anywhere within a thirty minute drive of this place, go there now!
