I am so sad to report that Ritter’s Barbeque has closed at this location. There is a sign posted on the door saying that they will now concentrate on their Catering Business. We are sure going to miss their awesome presence in Raytown and Raytown has lost a local treasure. I already am missing their wonderful tender brisket sandwiches and great cheesy potatoes. I wish them the best of luck in whatever they chose to do next. And hope to have a family event to cater soon so we can get to taste their fine food again.

With a hankering for BBQ, I decided to try to give Ritter’s a try. It’s the closest to my house, yet I hadn’t tried it. I was very pleasantly surprised. We tried the baby backs, the beans and pulled pork. All were well cooked, perfect amount of seasoning, and affordably priced. The owners and I had a nice chat, and they’re very friendly and knowledgable folks. I’ll gladly return for some very good grub! I think someone mentioned this, but they only have seating for a few people inside, so plan on carrying out. And I saw that they do offer catering. Not bad.

Went to this little place today on a whim, as I was craving some BBQ! They delivered on every aspect, the food is great, I love their spicy BBQ sauce! The service was as great as anyone could ever expect! The menu was explained in detail, very patient and just had that down home feel that I love! Had the ribs and brisket, son had a pulled pork sandwich and I can say they were as good if not better than most name brand places I’ve been to! And the prices were very resonable!

Ritter’s is a great little(and I mean little) mom and pop barbeque place. The staff is very nice and make you feel like family. Good barbeque at good prices. Every other Wednesday they do authentic burnt ends, definatly worth planning your outing based on this. They have three different suaces All made by three little pigs): Kansas City Sweet, Compitition, and a Spicy Chipolte. Personally I like to dine in so I can use all three, but if I had to pick it would probably be the Compition. Their brisket is good, but I think thier pulled pork is their best menu item, and I’m a brisket lover. As far as their sides, It’s pretty basic fries, mac and cheese, etc., but the cheesey potatos are great, they do sell out from time to time. Ritter’s is difinately worth stopping in. I’ve been to bad/greasy/over salted barbeque joints before, but this is not one.
