We visit weekly and have for years. Kitchen service is trending towards very slow. Noticing that the quality control of the menu is slacking as well. Same item tastes different on subsequent visits. We had salads tonight and they were very disappointing. Their homemade signature Greek dressing was not up to par. I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant. Beautiful place, great outdoor seating. I hope it doesn’t continue to disappoint.

We had a large party of 17 for a celebration dinner on June 11. We were seated immediately, and our server Julia could not have been better!!! We ordered appetizers that were wonderful, especially the sesame crusted tuna and tai chili sauce shrimp. Drinks were served promptly, an glasses refilled without saying a word. We ordered various entrees and every one of the 17 of us were very happy with our meals(and that doesn’t usually happen!). They were all served at the same time, and were fresh and hot. Appetizers and dinner were paced well. Prices were fair for what was received. They even accommodated our request for separate checks(because our group met there from out of state). Pleasant staff, good food, and pleasing atmosphere. We will be returning soon

Really good Mac and cheese! Wow. I would go back for that. Very attentive business though a little slow of a kitchen in my first visit observations. Went after a long bike ride at Blue Marsh and was pretty hungry. Burger was huge … Coupled with the delicious, albeit heavy, Mac and cheese, I was able to take half home. Very, very attentive and nice staff.

We asked for a table near the wall and could see a whole slew of empty tables but the staff said they were really busy and those tables were reserved. Nobody came the whole time we were there. Our waitress was very nice, service was prompt. Food was very good. I had the Tuscan Primavera with chicken.

One of our favorite restaurants in the area. My son loves the steak, the soup and appetizers are delicious. Getting to hear Dave Cullen while eating dinner is an added treat. We’d go here all the time if we could afford it. But when were splurging on a really nice meal for a special occasion this is our first choice.

I had dinner here with the Mrs last night and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The place was clean and the service was spot on. We sat up by the bar(intentionally) where we like live entertainment which was testily performed by David Cullen. While the food was cooked with care and to perfection except for the salad which I was happy to see washed, was so wet that the dressing mostly ran off, most of the items were either bland or over seasoned. My NY strip was aged enough to have any«beef» flavor and my wife’s Wellington which was good otherwise had so much salt in the sauce it was almost inedible. Not so bad that I wouldn’t try this place again but at their elevated prices I’ll be quite cautious next time.

The tapas made of olive tapenade, hummus and tzatziki(sp?) was served with warm pita bread, and wow we loved it!!! The rest of our dinner was a delight too!

This place was much better the first few years… the food now reminds of me of the old fegleys… old people pre chewed crap… service is slow… prices too high.

First time here. Perfectly cooked Filet. Portions were good. Prices very reasonable. Live music later in the evening. Definitely going back!

Confession time: I PLAYADULTKICKBALL! I can finally live out my high school fantasy of being a sports hero. Best part is? Not only can you drink after games, it’s actually encouraged. My kind of league! During the fall kickball season, the Hitching Post was always the prime destination following games based on its proximity to the fields. Lots of interior seating, great bar area, and outside patio seating to boot. One thing I’ve been most happy about lately is the Sunday Brunch. In addition to a set breakfast menu, there is a 15 – 20 item brunch buffet served up each Sunday from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. This includes an omelet station, carving station, pastries, danishes & bagels, creamed chipped beef, roast beef tenderloins, grilled chicken, pasta, vegetables, home fries, sausage links, and more. The classic Sunday drink selection of Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are also available. If you can’t make it in for lunch or dinner, the brunch is definitely worth a visit.

Food was very good. So that’s not the issue. What is the issue is in a party of about 40 people, my 3 year old son was full and didn’t order anything from the menu. Yet they charged a $ 10 extra fee to the total bill for him. Smacks of pure GREED. Plenty of restaurants around here. We will never return.

Just went for brunch and I was a happy camper. Not much of that going on in this area, so for 14 bucks, worth it. Breakfast items were actually really good, and would go back for that alone and it would be worth the money. Moving onto the carving station, left a little to be desired but not bad, would try again. Fresh fruits, salads, baked items very nice. S/o’s only complaint was the«Seafood creation», inedible, although this was his first brunch ever and I forgot to advise staying away from items not actually described. The smell alone deterred me, no bueno. The only thing keeping back from 5 stars is definitely the foul odor of cooked fish, that should not be, and wait staff was very meh. Will be going back for brunch and if they ix nay on the mystery food items and service is better, would happily up to 5.

I have eaten here numerous times. The food is always average. Do not go there when it’s busy or your party will not get food or drinks in a reasonable amount of time. We had to wait for over twenty minutes for the rest of our original order. Both the Hitching Post and this restaurant suffer from the same malady. Namely unresponsive management. The owners philosophy is generally«eat and get out». The food is ok but nothing to rave about. Any and all complaints are disregarded. Overall: C–

Great food. Started with bread, salads and surf and turf. The steak melted in your mouth and lobster was great. The only thing I didn’t like was vegetable. I never had broccoli raab and it was bitter. The waitress did warm me it was more bitter than broccoli. So I learned I don’t like that veggie. There were a lot of people there for a Thursday night. We can’t wait to go again. Yes, it is dark and chilly inside.

Great service and a beautiful restaurant. Portion sizes are large, which makes for great left overs. Quality food every time you come in, it’s never a disappointment.

I have visited this place twice now. Lighting is low, pretty quiet place, the food is always delicious. I highly recommend the crab dip. First time, service was great and attentive. Second time left a lot to be desired, took about ten minutes for someone to come to the table to ask about beverages or at least say someone would be with us shortly. Will definitely be back for more deliciousness. If the service improves next time, I will revisit this review and gladly give them 5 stars.

We were a party of 20 here to celebrate my grandmother’s 100th birthday. Our waitress was a rock star… handled our large party with ease; she was organized, attentive and caring. Everyone enjoyed their food; portions were generous. I ordered spanakopita and it was delicious, as was the accompanying Greek salad. All in all, it made for a very memorable family gathering.

I went here for lunch with a party of 6. The menu was extensive enough to have something for everyone and the prices were reasonable. From the décor and ambiance, I thought the food would be more expensive, but it was probably ~$ 10/person for lunch(plus tax and tip). They have wifi which is nice, but I would deem it basically required here since there is little to no AT&T cell service. I had a prime rib sandwich, which I wouldn’t call prime rib. I would really just call it a cheese steak. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality, but it wasn’t bad either. For a place in Reading where there are limited options, I would definitely eat here again. I wish it was in a more central location and not out in the middle of nowhere, but I guess there’s an appeal to that(like during Christmas, where all roads going to shopping centers are backed up). The restaurant is pretty dark inside as well, but I’m told people besides myself enjoy that.
