We had a pre-Basie Theater dinner there. Server was a very nice young lady. Place can be extremely noisy especially when the band is on but at 630PM on a weekday night, there was no excuse for that rowdy bunch at the next table except too much liquor and poor manners. We started with a shared Chicken Caesar Salad. My advice would be to pass on the chicken. The salad itself was OK and easily shared by 2. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich. I had a burger topped with cheese and pulled pork. It need more pulled pork. It was good but not great. There is an outdoor dining area too and wish I had known about it before we sat down.

We love Jamians. We went for dinner there Friday night before show at Count Basie. Quick to get a table. Quick to get drinks and food. The only negative was our waitress. When we placed our orders for the ahi tuna wraps(delicious!) she asked if we’d like chips or fries. Hubby got chips, I got fries. When the bill came, there was a SURCHARGE for the fries. Only $ 2 but we felt it was deceptive and politely said something. Waitress had a real attitude, very defensive and claimed she told us when we ordered(she did not) –and that it’s printed on the menu. Not sure why they present it as a choice if it actually just comes with chips. If I knew, I would have been fine with just chips. If I actually wanted fries, I would have ordered them as a side order. Needless to say we tipped her(20%) on the bill had it been $ 2 less as a matter of principle.

Just ate at Jamians; was going to Cheese Cave but was too crowded. Touts its self as a sports bar but really just a place where wanna be Hipsters and Grungers hang out. Got there just in time because got one of the last tables. Waitresses(not quite sure which one was ours) took our order and drinks came quickly. There were 3 waitresses; 1 seemed like the alpha female of the pack, 1 was knowledgeable and pleasant and the other looked like she was thinking«someone please kill me now!» Got the chips and cheese as an app; chips where fresh made, crispy but not burnt and salty while the cheese was awesome. Food came as we finished the app(good timing). Wife got the grilled cheese with chips(saved leftover app cheese for these) while I got the bacon Brie burger with fries. Grilled cheese was cheesy and grilled to a golden brown. Fries were thin cut but fried to a nice crunchiness and salted perfectly. Burger was ok but was just meat grilled; needed seasoning and moisture. Lastly, we were never offered any condiments for our food. Due to this and the drab burger it gets 4 stars. Would we go there again: yes; recommend to others: yes.

We stopped for a quick supper before a show at the Count Basie Theatre. Great food, amazing craft brew selections and a waitress that was extremely knowledgable about the brews! What a treat! Great to be able to share our interest along with her guidance of what they had available.

Ergh. I hate giving 3-star reviews. I really, really do. But on a Friday in the middle of summer at lunch time, you should not have the bartender not only tending the bar, but serving tables, too. It’s not fair to the employee and the patrons. What should have been a fairly efficient experience for my two coworkers and I morphed into a 70-minute meal, the majority of which we spent waiting and not eating. At least I had great company.

Are you kidding me? If you want some delicious gourmet thin crust pizza, this is your place. Have the buffalo chicken pizza, your tastebuds will thank you. Here during the summer? Eat outside on the patio. Also… Don’t miss the grilled cheese… To dieeeeeeee for!!!

Stopped here prior to a show at the Count Basie. We loved the atmosphere. Loads of great beer choices, both on tap and bottle. We both got specials-me, the blue cheese burger which was perfect, and my BF had the Hawaiian pizza, which pleased his picky palate. Nice thin crust and quite large. It was very loud and my BF said the men’s room was absolutely disgusting. They have an outside seating area we hope to try in the future. Great time-we highly recommend!

I’ve been here once or twice before for drinks and have been very satisfied with the place in those fields. I think Jamian’s is interesting because it’s not like any other bar in Red Bank. It has a really cool reggae infused theme with artwork on the walls and there’s always someone playing music in the corner, and if there’s not someone playing they always have great alternative music on(weezer, blur, foo fighters). I did eat here for the first time last week and the food was ok. I have to say the food portions are small in comparison to other places. We tried the crab mac and cheese which had great flavor without being to overwhelming in the seafood department. I had the panko fried chicken sandwich which was great. It came with sundried tomato mayo and they’re homemade potato chips which are awesome. However someone in our party had the mahi fish tacos which were REALLY small. I thought for the price the dish was lacking the amount of food it should have come with. The only other reason I’m giving this 3 stars is due to the service. Now don’t get me wrong, the servers were very friendly, but with that being said they did not have enough staff for a Saturday afternoon lunch hour. There were only two people working and one of them was the bartender. It was rather slow to try to get another round of beers since we were not sitting at the bar. No fault to the servers, they just didn’t have enough hands to take care of the whole place. All in all i’d definitely come back for drinks and music(and the back patio they seem to be renovating) since it’s hard to find an alternative bar like this in Red Bank.

This place is great! It’s a dive-esque kind of place with great food! The crab dip Mac n cheese is delicious! I get it every time we go. Nachos and burgers are great as well. Fun atmosphere, music all time time! Great for after a show at Count Basie or after dinner elsewhere or just to party!

Jamian’s is a great establishment. Not only is the service impeccable but the food is delicious! I highly recommend trying the buffalo chicken pizza but that’s not to say everything on the menu isn’t fantastic. To top it off, Jamian’s supports local artists and musicians with a rotating gallery and live music nearly every night of the week, which is really awesome!

Jamians is off the chart. You never know musically what is going to happen. The food is great. I love the Mac and cheese and the steak salad is the best. How many places can you go to with great food great music and great staff. The bartenders and the servers are awesome.

Awesome food! Chicken BLT was the juiciest sandwich ever! Philly cheesesteak just as juicy and delicious! First time there and will definitely be going back! Great service too. Lovely bar maid.

I’ve been a few times and I think it’s really hit or miss here. The outside part in the back is nice. On some nights, there are weird bands. Also there are random nights when it’s a much older crowd, and other nights when the crowd seems to be more in their 20s/30s. The service was nothing extremely special, though they were nice. I’m pretty on the fence about Jamians since every time I go it’s different. Maybe I need to go more!

This review is for the nightlife only. Jamian’s is the spot to go in Red Bank when out on the town. From their support of local artists on the walls, to the live music; Jamian’s gets it. You can always count on the local legends to be there night after night cranking out great tunes. Best of all, there is no cover. The crowd is eclectic, young to old, dressyn’t to casual. Jamian’s does care, just as long as you love good tunes.

Red Bank is all about the Arts and Jamian’s is the place to go. Stopped in there as my first stop on a bar hop night and didn’t leave. The band was exceptional, the bartenders gave ‘tastes’ of their draft craft beers. I highly recommend this venue.

is it Jay-me-ans…or is it jah-my-ans? I was seriously hoping it is the latter. In my mind it was going to be this like hippy, real chill, comfy, repurposed art kind of décor… like I said in my head, that’s what it was. Sadly, it was quite the opposite vibe. Too modern for me even with all the wood accents and«trendy» art. A true mix of patrons, young to old, sweats to dressed up. Beer selection pretty swell. Food was«eh» — we shared abunch of appetizers, our friends god the lamb and polenta — lamb yay, polenta nay. We shared wings and panko shrimp. To be honest everything tasted as if they were defrosted from costco, dips tasted as though they were out of a jar. They had live music, the crowd loved it. It was loud and I’m sure you could have a reall great time here to party. Id go back for a beer, that’s about it. Not my style

Good resto-pub food Very likeable draft list Unapologetically gruff but helpful bartender Dropped by on a Friday night before heading out on a fishing trip after seeing the 3.5 stars this place was getting, and I wasn’t disappointed. The beer selection is a strength — not overwhleming, but a breadth of variety, including some solid craft stuff from around the US as well as some good concentration on local Carton. My buddy and I had no problems picking off new enjoyable brews to try through the night. For dinner, I had an appetizer and an entrée special while my buddy had pizza, and each was A-OK. We had no trouble getting seated at the bar at about 6:30, and we were able to get the bartender’s attention throughout the night whenever we needed him. A band was setting up around 9 – 9:30 up front, and the place started filling in a little more, but still wasn’t overly crowded. There was a nondescript but lively vibe. This is the only spot I’ve tried in Red Bank, but unless I had a compelling alternative I wanted to hit up, I wouldn’t hesitate to head back to Jamian’s.
